The State of My Drumming, as of 4/9/24

So I recorded/performed this bit with the intention of putting down other instrumental tracks over it, which represents a significant departure from previous recordings of this particular drum pattern, in that it implies a drive for repetitive well.....repetition, a facet not often noted in much of my music /sound-over-time/"its art!"....those familiar with my playing might be surprised at just how long I almost sorta carry it off, even returning to the primary phrase at later points along the stroll.
Of course, there are departures into forms divergent from the initial phrase which imply the original phrase/beat in their own ways, hopefully achieving their own unique suchness while still sitting at the big people's table on that one thanksgiving.
Im hoping that the drummers who have been responding to my other drum videos see my concerted efforts to bring forth a greater degree of consistency of beat and rhythm, something many said was important as a drummer, as well as appreciating the pathways of variation.
As always, this is spontaneous music that goes where it goes, with no prior planning of routes or transitions

I'd love to hear'ya play a steady beat. 8th notes or quarters. bass drum on one and three, snare on two and four. 1-2-3-4 on the hats, or 1@2@3@4@

As would i !! i'm figuring that should that manifest, it will begin to show evidences of such intent relatively soon. But, i must confess...ive never much been one for ascribing to the mainstream expectations, conventions or socially sanctioned norms....
however, if you check out the recent TSoMD 4/9/24 youll find at least a bit more general consistency, as its the first clip ive done with the intent of adding overdubs

@@Alembizoa Oh man, I hate conventions as well...But music is music. Maybe even try a metronome. That will help with timing. I don't mean to sound like a douche, but try the Quarter note on the or ride or hats
