The garden store bow saw is my goto. for the price and the work it can do , unbeatable. I got a cool little 1950's hatchet, it has a claw and hammer head. great for breaking down pallets if needed and saving the nails. Sometimes yah get that piece of wood that is just to sappy and sticky for a saw, hatchet time.. sometime yah get that piece of wood you hit with a hatchet and its so hard you just bounce right off it, saw time.
I am right there with ya on the saw, and the hatchet as close secondary tool that can slide into the primary slot when conditions warrant it. Cool design you speak of, claw hammer hatchet 🤔 that could definitely come in handy!
always comes down to rate vs weight. so its best to pick what you can get the most out of, in this case id have to go knife and folding saw as well. i can make about anything i need with those two. Awesome vid man, keep at it!
I have a harbor freight firemans hatchet that is a nice splitter, surprisingly. Folding saw and knife for me. Size, weight, and i can saw small enough pieces to process with the knife if needed. A little quieter than chopping with an axe or hatchet also
@@Level3Readiness people have relied upon axes 🪓 for melenas And people are still being found with there ancient axe like tools I can understand the difficulty in picking a tool to relying upon Tough choice.
The folding saw and knife would be my choice too !
I liked the speed of the cut and I think I can work on precision!

Thanks for the input! I'm leaning heavily on the knife and folding saw!
In my situation, stealth is paramount. Also being 68 the ax work is a non starter now.
I would choose the knife and saw.
Great vid!
I "hear" that 😉 great insights as I'm not getting any younger 😂 👊

Check out the off grid survival ax.
Got a link?
I tried to post the link and it did not work
@@loggingart7978 weird... I found " off grid tools, survival axe" multi tool axe... That sound like what you're referring?
@@Level3Readiness yeah, has the Sawzall blade built into the Handel. Pretty neat!
