I live in the UK & bought this tent a couple of years ago in brand new unused condition,it truly is a fantastic tent, like you say it's not the lightest but everything about the tent is top quality, many tents state that they are 4 season when in reality they aren't even 3 season shelter's. The TCOP really is built to withstand whatever weather mother nature presents it with..thanks for a brilliant video.
Thanks for the great review. Excellent Deal you got on such a nice tent. These are very difficult to find in new condition. Only seen Colemans had one recently but after shipping and tax would be over $300.
Goodredman, You are very welcome. Yep, I've said it many times, I wish I would have bought more than one! Unless I will it to an Heir, look for this one in an estate sale someday, I will never sell it! - Stiles
D0n, Ok, very good. The Marines I've worked with had 1 of 2 different Tents; a single man tent that was low profile (almost a Sleeping Bag Cover) and a 2 Man Tent that was a Small Dome Tent similar to the TCOP. I appreciate the comment! - Stiles
Nice. I believe I’m taller than that sitting down though. I think if it was raining, that I’d like to be able to sit up as well as lay down. Can you sit up inside there?
BearPaw, Yep, you can easily sit up in this tent, the Marine Corp has some single man tent that just cover the Sleeping Bag. This is a big Single Man Tent. At 7:38 in the Video, I show the Dimensions: 8 feet long x 3 foot 6 inches wide and 2 foot 9 inches inside height. Its room enough for me to sit up and put my boots on inside the main tent. - Stiles
Jonathan, I'm not sure what year I bought this one, a friend of mine bought his and one for me, on E-Bay; I think I paid $120 for this one. I wish I'd bought a couple of them. Hope you find one. - Stiles
DarkMeta, I'm with you! I always thought the same thing, but this shouldn't really change your mind. Allow me to explain, this is a great tent, I love it. But, this tent is made to a Military Specification and has to meet the requirements to be sold to the Military. You or I can sell stuff to the Dept. of Defense as long as we meet the requirements. I don't know may be Eureka is doing better with their Civilian Tent also. I appreciate the comment! - Stiles
Timothy, I don't think so, but I get you. Shelter Half Canvas, Poles and the big ole Stakes are heavy for what you get, but I think they are a little lighter. I appreciate the comment! - Stiles
You keep trying to make this tent accommodate YOUR civilian preferences. This tent w a s designed for Military use and in that respect does EXACTLY what it was designed to do.
Cliff, Did you just cuss me? You don't even know me. I don't have a "civilian" bone in my body. I know my ligaments are all military, the VA owns my L5 disc, and an LOD makes the torn meniscus in my knee Army Property. I figure most of the people watching this video are in fact civilian and may be interested in purchasing a great quality tent. If I knew your military background, and you were standing here, I'd cuss you back. But since you maybe civilian (or Air Force), I'll just say, have a nice day! LOL Hope you found that humorous. - Stiles

@@StilesAutomotivewhat if a person sitting down is a smidge over 3’? I’m thinking that’s not gonna work for me.
ONE QUESTION: ARE THE STAKES STEEL? ALUMINUM? PLASTIC?
Andrea, I believe they are aluminum. - Stiles
Is the rain fly pole the same length as the other two poles because Im having a hell of time trying to fit one end into the grommet...?
B, Yes, I believe it is. Your Rainfly must be made a little short. - Stiles
Where does one buy this tent new?
D2T, Let's ask @robertmcfarland3323, I just stated in a comment that he just bought one. - Stiles
This tent is truly for survival.😅
JSpark, It is. And, it is a good tent. - Stiles
Did he say 17sq.ft. Of beer storage?🍺
FairWind, An unknown fact, Beer is a great recovery drink for dehydration. Stay hydrated! - Stiles
I’ll buy it off you 🙏🏻😃
Jonathan, I'm not sure what year I bought this one, a friend of mine bought his and one for me, on E-Bay; I think I paid $120 for this one. I wish I'd bought a couple of them. Hope you find one. - Stiles
@@StilesAutomotive Coleman surplus have a bunch of brand new ones in the box… for 279$. Just not sure if they would ship to Canada 🤦🏻♂️
it's so weird because i still associate Eureka! brand with being cheap junk 😂 i guess things changed lol

Thos thong sounds lighter than the shelterhalves with poles and steaks

Corwin Unions
Timothy, I "Googled" your "Corwin Unions" but not sure what that is, can you explain that? - Stiles
