- Feroze Shah Kotla, New Delhi 1999. India vs Pakistan in the 2nd test match of the 2 test series. Pakistan are chasing a mammoth target of 420 and have almost collapsed. Anil Kumble has picked up 9 wickets and is on the verge of creating a world record.
Javagal Srinath, his Karnataka teammate bowling from the other end recognizes the rare feat his teammate is on the verge of and starts bowling wides to prevent himself from getting the last wicket and to make sure Kumble gets the richly deserved 10th wicket. Anil kumble 10 for 74.

DRAVID, SRINATH KUMBLE SAURAV i can vouch have never focused on personal scores or wickets .. have batted at any number, bowled, kept wickets and did everything that was needed for the team .. Unlike some A class ones who would do all tantrums to bat always at a particular batting order sacrificing other younger batsmen’s wickets at times 🤷♀️ A truly expert world class batsmen should be able to play equally well or at least be ready to take the challenge of batting at any order, state of pitch or ball and weather conditions.. one cannot always get tailor made situations

An unforgettable match. I watched all the match at my home except for this last inning which I watched live in 10 different shops while I was in a market. Memories 🙂
