The golden age of television and entertainment. This was just two guys singin' and having a great time together. Glen and Neil are legends. No politics, no angry words or crude personal attacks on anyone. I miss those days...….
You will never see this live again in person. Just 2 incredible guys with their guitars and voices& stepped into music history! Their musicianship off the charts. Glen was so underrated for his guitar genius.
OMGosh I watched every episode of Glen's TV show. I just loved that Southern drawl & the way he said...Hi, I'm Glen Campbell. What a combo from Delight Arkansas & Brooklyn NY.
Wow. When Glen comes in with the harmony, it sounds like a great 60s pop harmony. What a crying shame these two didn't get together and blow some doors off their hinges.
This takes me back to better times and better music. When I saw Neil Diamond in concert for the first time at the Greek Theater in August of 1972, I expected the performance to be much like his variety show appearances, which would have been fine! Instead, it turned out to be the greatest performance I've ever seen, consisting of class, soul and raw energy! That great concert was 'Hot August Night' !
The greatest live concert recording of all genres and time. As a fan since being a little boy and hearing those early songs - I did just what almost every other N.D. fan did, stayed true and unswervingly loyal . I made it to The Greek in L.A. for the last two concerts of his '40th anniversary' of HOT AUGUST NIGHT; a lifelong dream fulfilled - still can't quite believe I have seen Neil Diamond at The Greek .
Daniel Stump Put Glen and his guitar alongside Roy Clark and a banjo and you'd better be listening because those guys were amazing with their skills on those instruments. Ashley can really play as well. I learned that from the video of Glen's farewell tour. He may have lost his memory for the lyrics, but that guitar was never out of tune.
Loved Glen so much and miss him. This is a great duet. Thanks for sharing hon. Glen could sing with anyone and their voices blended like honey. R.I.P.Glen.
i dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb lost my password. I appreciate any tips you can give me
I know....what a powerful combination...like the Everly Brothers with a turbocharger! It is a crying shame they didn't get in a studio and do some hard pop...that would have been one smoking record.
Two legends with actual talent that actually sung live with no auto tune bs. Artist back then had to prove they were worthy of the public's attention. It's too bad It's not like that today
there is no new rock and roll right now. all the "new" songs I hear on the radio sound like belly dance music or militaru marching accompaniment. and they all seem to be sung by the same one guy and same one gal.
OMG! Somebody pick me up! I just fainted! First time seeing this! You will NEVER see this again, I was totally in love with Glen starting at age 11, Neil ran a close 2nd! Now im in my late 50's and these 2 can still send chills up my spine! Can sure butter this southerns girls biscuits anytime!
Some guys get it all....and these two did.......talent and looks.....my sister was quite a bit older than me, but had such a crush on both these of these gentlemen....I didn't understand then.....but I sure get it now......
ND of course was my first favorite male composer/singer. I remember working for my first stereo cleaning my parent's house and then buying ND's albums. GC is a superior guitarist and major interpreter and this piece with them together is quite special to me.
They could have toured together with that great sound their voices had here!! Glen could make a duet great with anyone and any type of singer. Not many could really do that so easily!
Maybe because Glen was already a hugely experienced session man long before he became famous as a singer. A superb guitarist with a beautiful voice. Man it's an unequal world!
Music brings the most unlikely people together it's truly the international language Campbell and Diamond are like Angel's singing I really don't think most of us appreciated them until years later at lease I didn't thanks UA-cam for playing this
"International language"..hmmm, it did seem to bring the "the most unlikely together".... ... long enough to give us these to angels.... God blessed us for a while.
i met Neil in 1965 as a 15 year old kid. worked across the street in san diego from kcbq radio. he asked me to pass a note to one of the station people. thank you so much for this video
Funny at 2:35 to hear Neil go hard rock compression on his voice to get the F, while Glen just hops up to the A above it easy and clear as a bell. Two such different voices gave us so much music. Fun to see them together.
@@survivrs turns out Neil was touring Canada and he discovered some of the small towns had more men than women. Without enough women to go around the left out men would buy a jug of "crackling rosse" wine (I'm sure I spelled it wrong) they would call this their woman for the weekend. I hope this brings a smile to your face I know it did mine! With everything going on right now we can all use a bit of that! Take care of you and yours.
When you see a good guitar player like Tommy Collins getting those "Whoa!" !ooks when Glen would tear off a quick, hot guitar run, you get a sense of how good Glen was. Glen was at home with many styles. He had to be, he was part of the Wrecking Crew and played bass for the Beach Boys.
This was a time that television was worth watching.
Pure talent there kids...forget modern junk...that's real music right there
The greats
Nail sos único te escucho todos los días sos mi cable a tierra ❤

just think how much ratings would rise if they were to do shows like they did then
What harmony what unit between two stars with many hits laying so comfortable together it would have been interesting if they ever made an album
Sorry I love this movie the jazz singer and you were Great ❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's amazing that two people who don't normally work together could meet up for one show, with little rehearsal, and sound so perfect. That's talent.
Yes, it is.
It seems all the duets Glen did guests with on his show were great... I watched this show almost every week as a small kid...
You got that right !!👍🤙😎💯
This is great for a girl whose daddy was country before it was cool, lol 😆 Love it !
You will never see this live again in person. Just 2 incredible guys with their guitars and voices& stepped into music history! Their musicianship off the charts. Glen was so underrated for his guitar genius.
Thanks you, very much Katleen Mosley, great video
Greatest songwriter put together with greatest guitarist ever, can’t go wrong!
OMGosh I watched every episode of Glen's TV show. I just loved that Southern drawl & the way he said...Hi, I'm Glen Campbell. What a combo from Delight Arkansas & Brooklyn NY.
Legends.........that is pure unadulterated TALENT.....unlike today's crap!!!
Wow. When Glen comes in with the harmony, it sounds like a great 60s pop harmony. What a crying shame these two didn't get together and blow some doors off their hinges.
Wow that brings back some memories 😅
This is Absolutely Brilliant!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH 🙏🙏🙏💜💎💎💎💎💎
We will never see talent like this again , Never . Thank God for you tube
my two favorite artists
Two musical icons.........Great talent from the old days.
Two greats, two guitars, two voices, and two flawless harmonies...oh how music has changed

Hot August Night 👍🌟🌟👏👏👏👏
great chemistry.
People tended to think of Glen Campbell as a singer and songwriter.
He was those, but he was also a GUITAR GENIUS!
Glen was a part of the "Wrecking Crew", a group of L.A. session players who played on just about every hit song in the 60's
Glen singing the high harmony. Great job!
Loved Glen so much and miss him. This is a great duet. Thanks for sharing hon. Glen could sing with anyone and their voices blended like honey.
R.I.P.Glen.
Wow,what a combi
I was 17 in 1970 and Glen Campbell was a must see. Am still a fan of both.
Glen Campbell and Neil Diamond? That's a gem.
glen was always so happy when performing, he had a real love for what he did, so did neil🥺
i dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know a trick to get back into an instagram account..?

@Jaylen Corbin instablaster =)
One of my favorite songs!!!!
1970 I was in high school. Love these guys ..I didnt appreciate the depth of talent Campbell had till I knew how really good of a guitar player he is.
I grew up having both Neil and Glens music drummed into my ears by my parents and I'm so glad they did.
What a classy comment! You must be very proud of yourself!
Ricky Howard same here so glad
Ricky Howard same here!
IT'S NICE TO SE THE LEGENDS ON YOU-TUBE!!!!!
Two American Greats. What a tight duo.
Fantastic duet
Awesome couple 🎉❤
Two musical giants. Wichita Lineman and Cracklin' Rosie, to name but two songs, were absolute classics.
Man, these guys are dynamite together. Two classic legends.
I know....what a powerful combination...like the Everly Brothers with a turbocharger! It is a crying shame they didn't get in a studio and do some hard pop...that would have been one smoking record.
Kansas dust in the wind
Glen Campbell always amazes me with his guitar playing
Neil sah immer so unverschämt gut aus... ❤
I never woild have dreamed to see these two on the same stage, let alone in a duet. Fantastic! Glen was quite good and Neil is great.
Amazing!!!
The best of both worlds!
Super❤Super❤Super❤

Great to see this as I don’t remember Neil being on tv that much back then. Glenn was great too. Miss those days. Thank you.

Affordable Escapes Travel hehe, I could see why my Auntie had a crush on Neil Diamond XD
Elvis would've been so good on this show as a guest. So sad, what could've been.
Freaking amazing. An era gone by.
Wow 2 legends
Do they ever sound great together. Glen Campbell laying down the licks on the bridge was pretty sweet.
Listening to them is always a pleasure......so much spirit of joy and happiness in singing away to glory.
They should have sang sunflower!
Two legends.
Coisa linda! ❤️ ❤❤❤
Both guys are terrific 'cuz they are ENTHUSIASTIC about the tune! They know the notes & believe in 'em! Great 2-some! * Cav *
what a great duo ........... miss glen already!
They really should have recorded an album together. Glen should have covered Shilo. I think he would've been great on it.
*WHAT A FANTASTIC DUET ! two truly great great talents.*
Classic!
Great Glen and Neil

Two of my favorites. Got to meet Glenn when he was recording Galveston
Now theres talent ya dont see anymore .. 😍😎😁
April 2020: nice! Love the white boots. Seriously though a great duet. I don’t think there could be a musical hour nowadays like this.
Serious harmonies!
Only if I had .0000001 % of that talent, what a gift!
It's like the tourist asking a New York native... "How do you get to Carnegie Hall," the native answers... practice practice practice.
the awesome singer MR.NEIL DIAMOND HE'S GREAT AND STILL PERFORMING TODAY why thank you Neil Your songs are geat
George Lloyd I
Superb performance.

My first musical love, and another of my favorites. Neil had me with Cracklin Rosie, and Glen had me with Wichita Lineman.
omg literally me ahaha
Funny thing, I just found out what that song was about! Do you know? I'm a Diamond fan from way back and I had know idea!

Rest in peace, mr Campbell.
THere is no person Glen Campbell couldn't play with!!

1:03 -Before he became cheesy. Damn what a voice! What a song writer!
In his early years he was a mean drunk.
@stephencraig5938 Who was a mean drunk?
So good!
Two Greats
In 1970 I was 13. I had a reel-to- reel tape recorder and would record The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour with the microphone against the TV speaker.
I was 13 also in 1970...I wanted so much to see his show in person but my mom said we couldn't afford it.
Ledgens 😢
Mas de 48 años. De esto. Bonita música
