- From near the start of the Olympic Games in London , there is still one question , Can London to regulate the opening more beautiful than the opening of Beijing ?!!especially since the recent opening was very good and beauty and creativity
this is a wonderful , amazing , fantastic , myth and of complete shock Olympic Dream(2008 BEIJING Olympic Games
The Beijing Olympics made me proud of my heritage!
Ancient Chinese history was absolutely epic and majestic !
London opening ceremony felt like it took us back to the 80s, but China the true modern Olympic games, magical
amazing! 5000 years of history in one opening ceremony, absolutely fantastic!
Awesome video!!!
The song and video match really together;
It really feels that China is uprising!!
Come here to wash my eyes after watching Tokyo Olympic opening ceremony.
after Beijing, there is no such thing called opening ceremony.
absolutely
beijing2008 was the best ever (epic) london was no comparison
The most memorable Olympics for me
Beijing opening ceremony was truly artistic. Mr. Bean, children jumping on beds, and teenagers texting is a some type of entertainment, but is not ART!
just awesome.. that synchronisation is just marvelous!
our opening cermony won't be so weirdly sinister, it's going to be warm, and a paaarttyy!!
The only way to top the opening ceremonies of Beijing 2008 would be to hold the Olympics again in China soon!
Wait for Rio. It's not as if they're annual street parade isn't already equal to, if not surpassing most of the Olympic Openings we've had.
2022
Beijing opening was no joke.
the only opening ceremony I was not bored stiff with to be honest ... true this rocked and was a cool as it was interesting !! come ooooooooooooooooooooooon UK
10 years ago! 🎆
A couple of people have commented to protest that the Beijing ceremonial was NOT weirdly sinister.
Let me explain?
When I used that phrase I was quoting a user below who I thought had hit upon something important.
The Beijing Olympics was brilliant and spectacular and perfectly choreographed. It used many thousands of precisely trained participants to create a work of art. In this was it was better than London and than any other ceremony, ever. It will never be forgotton.
I am scottish, and British, i do not believe in the monarchy but thats my thing. Anyway, the opening ceremony was quite amazing, never before has the world witnessed a ceremony like that! It was a celebration of Britain from pre-industrial revolution until right now...and heading towards the future. The integration of different cultures and races was very well done - lets be honest, it was all very well done!? It was truly beautiful and the music was fantastic...10 outta 10! Diff from bejing, yeh
I don't think anyone will top china for quite sometime, this country has so much rich long historic culture. They did an amazing job on showing their heritage and is the best so far.
Not in my lifetime. Beijing's opening ceremony was the best I've ever seen. And I'm sure we all agree on this. London's was not bad, but it didn't carry the artistry and flawlessness of Beijing's.
No, ONE journalist from forbes called it the worst, but when he watched it on the bbc, not the crappy amatuerish nbc, he had to re write his article! London's was very innovative in that it was cinematic, rather than the usual format and it is critically acclaimed by most press and expected to be the most influential of all ceremonies.
Only China can accomplish a feat as great as this
Dang this is amazing i wish i was there lol.
Honestly, I don't even think China can out do themselves.
There is no question about it...this was the best Olympics in history. From the Opening Ceremony, to the games...oh the games were amazing with records being made, and other small stories...2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, the most outstanding Olympics in history.
Lol. Try watching the entire Beijing opening from start till the end. The fireworks was good, but what really surprised the entire world is the strict choreography of thousands and thousands of men and women performing with superb accuracy. Never heard of fireworks as the main attraction of Beijing.
Fantastic!!
Awesome!
yes.
the way it just showed what Britain is and celebrating it, I don't think other countries would understand.
It was just brilliant because it celebrated the country, not showing off and it wasn't screaming "look what we can do!"
That collective work of art was not in any way aggressive or offensive. It was beautiful and in reality all participants were enthusiastic volunteers.
BUT: the ceremony seemed to say who China is as a nation. The effect was 'muscular', with great numbers. It was dark and fiery. The people moved with machine-like precision so that, although all were actually volunteers, it seemed to express China's authoritarian nature. And also...
Android - Mandarin is the most spoken native tongue. There are more native Spanish speakers than English, but English is the world language a sizeable percentage of the Chinese etc speak English. That is thanks to, not as many people believe, the Americans but the industrial revolution that started in England in the early to mid 19C..as was showcased in the opening of London 2012.
in Beijing it was about a people and it's history...kicked London's ass big time like a BOSS.....
times are changing.
China has always been a collectivism culture, it'snever individualistic. I'm Chinese, a volunteer in 2008 in my hometown. I bet you could ask any one of those participants they would proudly say "look, I was part of that!!" many were willing soldiers from across China, I would even sign up if I was up to par. group performances is always what is on Chinese stages. London and China has diff cultures, I enjoyed London as I enjoyed Beijing. display of 5000yrs of culture can never by sinister.
In Utah, we had kids dance around with flashlights. Glad someone has some creativity left.
Well said mate...I just can't believe that some people would come on here and argue about it. I admit, maybe I went a tad over the top in my response to the Greek guy but I standby what I said, which was not "It was the best opening ceremony ever", Beijing was...but with the issues you raised - of course it was gonna be - I said "never before has the world witnessed a ceremony like that!" and they haven't - fact. It was different, original, daring and actually maybe a tad too high brow for some!
well, maybe you just saw the beginning and the end of the ceremony and chose to ignore all the amazing stuff in the middle. 5000 years of Chinese history was condensed in this one ceremony with music, calligraphy, dance, language, clothes from different dynasties, and the most important one, the people themselves. No offence to the London Olympics Opening Ceremony, but it should have been more serious, not just a rock concert.
well you need to hear more.
Been staying quite a time in Australia. And also in some other countries such as Korea, Taiwan, and mainly South East Asian country. Doesn't quite see your point, most of the foreign electronics I saw are China made, with some exception for Malaysian own brand.
@KingNojo I can't find a download link for this song, but you can download a software where you can download youtube video's and convert into .mp3 format
i kno you guys only have Rembitiko (which I adore) but just please take into consideration that music, particuarly pop music as the world knows it is part of Britain's history now - which is why was covered. I think you maybe don't see it the way we do as Greek music is not what British music was/is but Britain is very proud of its music heritage - that is why music was given such a prominent part in the proceedings. The Beatles, Stones, Clash, Pistols, New Order, Happy Mondays.Need i say more?
@alexander707576 Thank you so much, that's a huge relief to find out. Now for the real test, where can I find an .mp3 of that...
Masterful music editing
in London yesterday is was amazing.I think better then in China, unbelievable!!! The best one. I am not from China and not from Englnad!!!
What music is this? This is amazing!
So I think London did an ok job. I liked seeing how we have all progressed. However, it lacked creativity and originality. Bejiing was more breathtaking and it wow'd the audience even at home. I'm pretty sure those who were at London watching this were amazed. However the excitement somewhat failed to reach to the other side of use on our televisions. Whereas Bejiing left alot of us amazed and thrilled. To me, Bejiing's opening ceremony was so doubt better.
it told a story rather than just buying a billion fireworks
I agree with you
This MUSIC is so INSPIRING!
There's no reason why an Opening Ceremony should be about a country's history. In this case, it was about an identity, a national story, including culture. Music is part of culture.
I thought it had a wonderful feel-good atmosphere.
It was popular enough that in the UK the BBC showed the whole ceremony a second time!
Personally, I'm just glad it wasn't a complete fiasco.
True
We don't know what could be the next country to host the Olympics that could beat this kind of Opening Ceremony... IT"S JUST SO AMAZING!!! THANK's CHINA... :D
why does this keep coming up in my favourites
They're completely different. It's like comparing a Hollywood Blockbuster with a BBC Drama. Both are great, one looks considerably higher budget.
Well the people who guessed that London's would be warm and full of heart were right.
And Beijing's was weirdly sinister.
The UK's was a monument to individualism and public spirit. All the performers were unpaid volunteers, coming together, being different individually but creating a pattern, a one-ness, from that difference.
London knew it could never compete the new standard for 'wow!' set by Beijing (who could?), so it went for something different.
agreed.
what is the track called playing at the start
name of the opening music before the olympic stadium view
You miss the point London was about the real people of the UK and it had soul and hart it was a story and topped all other openings and I mean all of them. unique just grate stuff your fireworks up you ares this was about a history of a grate country !!! and it's people are grate end of story !
Maybe we're too hard at our critic against the British: it was not easy for them to make a ceremony of the quality and the easthetics of Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008, it's just that their history is not as long and rich.
Beijing was the best & will not be topped by London! China's culture is Beautiful!
2020
Son un país fuerte!
❤ corona virus no podrá contra todos ustedes ❤
I don't care who had the better ceremony, this was a very good video to watch and I just want to know where this video's music came from. Someone please tell me! (I know the very first song came from Inception soundtrack...)
Yes London was a massive trip... very original... ignore the whingers they would still have the ladies wearing a full bustle...
what is this music?,.its fab
@alexander707576 Found it man, as well as tons of their other songs that are as good or better. Thank you so much, you have really helped me out with that as it was driving me NUTS trying to figure it out
this and London are grate ..they work on different levels that's all .....................
History takes on different forms... it's not only the time span that counts.
the best of the best
agreed
its not important to you, that doesnt mean its not the most important. id say you need to hear more in order to find out that it is important so that your hears wont reject to hear again.
what is what music called?
Not only India or China have rich cultures...Just think about it...
... Also, everybody involved in the Beijing ceremony was physically presentable. To the extent of removing an ugly child singer from the stadium and having a prettier child mime singing in her place. This authoritarian nature was exhibited outside the ceremony also, with beggars being taken from the streets, and half the cities vehicles forbidden to travel to reduce air pollution.
It was still the best and most impressive extravaganza I've ever seen: but it was a totalitarian lavishness.
whats this music called
London in my opinion still did quite a faboulous job on the opening
there just say that then !!
and I'm sorry YOU started it by the way the answer is simple if you don't like it don't watch it
do one or bugger off if you like and look at something you do like !!!
3.00 very very beautiful .
The point is, thse who speak that language would eventually want to know or have to know how to speak english
Who says Beijing Olympic Opening can't be topped ???
Here's proof "16th Asian Games Opening Ceremony in Guangzhou 7 of 19 "
MUSIC????????
No other country can top that very soon. Maybe India in the future, who knows? Both countries has rich cultures to showcase.
What is the song?
to be fair though the London ceremony probably couldn't have been better without losing the entire point of the ceremony. The london ceremony was about all of our generations more recently because it's more important to us, whereas the Beijing ceremony was based on their culture, which to be fair leaves them with much more content to use.
Someone can't get over the fact Bejing is over 4 years ago it's gone get over it why are you still banging on about it IT'S OVER !!
I think that UK has a great history too , anyway this is not a contest of who has the biggest history i think that Athens and China made the best ceremonys ever(Athens was better for me) and i hope that UK will make a very good ceremony too because british people have accomplished many great thinks over the centuries .manolis from Greece
Oh,and yes I'm Greek.So I don't care if my english is poor. :)
Maybe no country in the world could do it the same as China, but im sure it will be as amazing. just in a different way!!!
if everyone had the same culture, this world would be boring!!!!!!!!!!! london , beijing, greece, whatever country it might be, they all had great history to showcase and plus the british history is just as good or even better than china's. after all, its the english who is responsible for 80% of the world's population to speak english WHAT CAN BEAT THAT!
haha wait till you see the London one, it is fucking out of this world
Firstly, if you are going to talk in English learn to use it correctly, and secondly, Beijing was just a very expensive firework display. London had meaning to it. The ceremony explored Britain's vast history showing the world how we have come to be.
So I think that you need to shut up and realise that the we, the British are not in denial, we are just proud of what we have achieved!
Let me tell you why no country will ever beat that (apart from perhaps Qatar when they get it). No country will ever spend as much as China. It cost a reported $100 million (!!!) and some put it much higher. Any country can do an amazing ceremony with that amount of money to spend! London will be spending about that amount for the 4 ceremonies in total! (opening and closing of the olympics and para olympics). The London ceremony will have more humour and heart and more of a story to it.
In my opinion i think it was to flashy. London was simple but effective and i loved it
is the first i'm hearing that however english is most important
I have heard that Some of the effects and fireworks were not real they used cgi.
Lacked creativity and originality? Were we watching the same ceremony? Practically everyone I heard comment on it said they thought it was amazing, me included...
Well. Show me any major computer brand that were made in Malaysia, Indonesia or Pakistan. By the way, I am an Malaysian, so Im pretty sure Malaysia is not a major manufacturer in comparison to China in terms of electronics.
Lmao ! Are those dresses ? ! Anyways, way better that London 2012 !
Everyone backs his own motherland. No doubt about that. I feel bad for those serious problems plaguing this vast land. Hope everything will go well.
Not trying to be sound sarcastic here, but first of all, I am a Malaysian, I know what my country is capable of and what not. I know we do have some decent manufacturing capabilities, but its no where near China, and by the way, we are not famous for manufacturing electronics.
China Awesome! UK Awesome! we are family!
Agreed on the Fail of london ceremony..I believe that the meaning of the olympics was not there. Great for just a show but not good for an olympics opening. Beijing and Greece were the best!!!
