Funeral Services for Mr. Clinton "Ted" Carnes

Clinton "Ted" Carnes, age 68, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Augusta University Medical Center. He was born in Cartersville, GA on August 4, 1955 to Adrian Clinton and Juanita Sutphin Carnes. He had lived in Brunswick for many years moving to Glennville in 2012. Ted had retired from the Jekyll Island Authority after 34 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bird watching. Ted is a dedicated Christian and is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lynnette Carnes of Glennville; his daughters and sons in law, Melissa Kaye Carnes, Melinda Faye and Jason Trotter all of Glennville and Maria Michelle and Raymon Courtney of Mississippi; siblings, Ricky (Nell) Carnes of Augusta, Priscilla Absher of Cartersville, Andrea (Jim) Wilson of North Carolina and Renita (Tony) Walker of Cartersville; 6 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at noon on Saturday, June 29, 2024 with the funeral services to follow at 2:00pm from the Chapel of the Glennville Funeral Home with Mr. George Lee and Mr. Philip Farris officiating. Interment will follow in the Glennville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Evoy, Ethan McCleery, Zach Collins, Neil McSwain, Ronnie Taylor, Cecil Wise, Jason Trotter and Raymon Courtney.
Honorary pallbearers will be Stan Trotter and Terry Shook.
