    Blow dry his hair on low at the ends and then hot towards the root. And then braid his hair Omg the results would be 😍😍😍

      I will give this a try! I just get so nervous putting heat in his hair 😩 plus when I do use the blow dryer with heat I find it reverts back but the time I'm braiding and I don't even get the nice sleek straight braids I was expecting lool curly hair problems I guess 🤦🏽‍♀

    What helps me is putting whatever product you use to smooth the hair over the part and then going back over the same part with the comb, either gel, conditioner, beeswax, whatever product of choice, hope that helps you out with parting lol, you do a great job though with doing your sons hair shout out to you Lol❤️

    I have never trimmed my son’s hair and he is six with hair literally passing his butt. When I cut it will be donated for sure. I’m ready to cut because it’s so thick and long. I’m pregnant with my second baby and don’t know what it is. I don’t know how you braid all the time I have no time doing his hair weekly and braids look good for two days and his hair is too soft it frizzes. I have done cornrows a few times in his life majority just pop smoke looking braids or box box. I am learning styles from you. Keep the videos coming.

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  3 роки тому

      I feel you on the messy in two days thing 😂 but yeah I’m definitely on the fence again about cutting but hearing that you haven’t trimmed and your sons hair is fine makes me feel a little more like I won’t trim any time soon lol so happy our videos are helping you style your little man 💙

      What styles and tips for growth?

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  3 роки тому

      @@Nikky10000 I recommend styles that keep the ends of their hair protected.. up dos/buns are really good for that. My tips would be the less products the better, the less harsh the products the better. Try not to manipulate or do their hair too often. Look into doing the LCO or LOC method after washday. Oil/grease the scalp. And a satin pillow case for sleeping 🤞🏽💙

    Do you have any tips on how to remove product buildup or lint on the ends of my son's hair?

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  4 роки тому +1

      I don’t use any specific products for this but if his hairs still in the style I would say use a spray bottle and a soft brush to try and remove what you can. If it’s wash day, make sure the hairs detangled with a wide tooth comb, apply some oil to the hair and just wash as usual. Make sure to use the pads of your fingers to clean his scalp to get all the buildup out and again detangle when the conditioner is in (using a regular comb for this will allow you to remove the buildup at the scalp).
      Hope this helps! 💙

      We love boys embracing their natural hair! You can do many styles it all depends on what you like. You can do some really nice twists, maybe some single braids, also a nice classic six braids can work too! We have lots of options on this channel, hope you find something you like and try it out! 💙

    My oldest son he's going on 5 his hair comes out when I do braids. When I take them down he looses hair. My young son who going on 3 his hair loves braids

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  3 роки тому

      Oh no! Does your 5 year old have really soft or fine hair? Hopefully it’ll stop happening! Hair loss is a little normal when taking down braids because you haven’t played with or combed your hair the entire time it was braided, but if it’s excessive then it may be something else 🤷🏽‍♀️

      I don’t have the packaging anymore and I don’t really know if it had sizes, I will say this is bigger than regular sized beads but it’s not jumbo… so maybe medium? Hopefully that’s of some help! * The small sized ones are nice too… but using the small beads only work for small braids. 💙

      Depending on the size braids you put in your son's hair as well as the density of his hair. For my son is use the smallest sized beads when I do box braids, twists, or thin skinny stitch braids, but bigger beads when doing 4 big pop-smoke braids

    Does the paste help with grabbing the hair? I find the hair slips out my hands ?

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  4 роки тому +1

      The paste can help with gripping because it’s thick and as long as you comb/brush is through the section it shouldn’t give you problems. If it’s still hard for you, you can just braid on dry hair and add the paste to the perimeter after you’re done, use the brush to lay it flat, then tie with with a head tie or durag so it’ll stay flat.

    let him watch his shows in spanish too, it’s easier to learn one language when you’re learning another and it’s also easier to learn more then one language as a toddler when learning how to speak. Put subtitles on in english so you know what you’re saying

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  Рік тому

      Hey 👋🏽 well in Canada our second language is actually French so he's learning French, he has apps that he uses and he does like to watch some shows on Netflix with the French or Spanish audio so he knows some Spanish words/phrases. Also, we speak Creole in the household so he's been learning that since he was young and speaks and understands it.

    My son’s hair is like ur son’s. For some reason it is hard for me to braid his hair wet.🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  4 роки тому +1

      You’re not alone, I feel like that too! But depending on the style (twists) it’s better to do when wet but other than that I try and stay away. Prep/wash his hair the day before you style it so that way you can put it in four the night before (with product), let it air dry, and then you have dry, stretched and moisturized hair to do his styles on.
      Hope this helps 😁💙
