Morris Holt aka Magic Slim for me defined the "Chicago Sound", with Jr. Pettis and later John Primer, brother Nick on Bass, Slim & the Teardrops were a constant on the Chicago blues scene from the 70's until Slim's passing in 2013. For me, he always brought the wood to every performance and loved what he did. Greatest bluesman ever? He's got my vote, so happy to have seen him at Biddy's on the Northside and even once at the old Checkerboard lounge on 43rd street. John Primer his sideman is still around and he's a Chi-town treasure in his own right, go see him and give a shout out to Slim, it will make him smile!

One of the greatest Blues Musicians ever, I saw him Live at Johnny D's Uptown in Somerville, Massachusetts in 1995, he and his whole band were AWESOME!!

The most underrated blues man ever and that is a fact. His band always top notch the best .
Alton Chenier could not agree more, to me Slim defined the “Chicago” sound and much more. I was a huge fan and saw him tons of times gigging around Chi-town starting in the early 80’s.

One of a kind. What a great sound and performance. I love that his main sixstring was a Jazzmaster. Not the most 'logic' choice. But it fits everything he does. Magic in every way. Thanks for posting!
