Has this train always had to do this back and forth movement to get in or out of Houston?
That's a great question. I don't know a whole lot about the history of the route. This was my first time riding it but based on map views of the area it didn't look like it was necessary. If I ride again I'll be sure to find out!

Beat me to it by a few years! lol I need to do this route again with my GoPro. When I took this trip I either lost it or it got stolen ☹
@JustGetOnBoard yeah... go for it. I did it this past Sunday afternoon and already have 2.3k views. I had to use my phone because I'm kinda new at this gopro thing. I have the 12 hero black and after about an hour or so it overheats and shuts off. However, I have a very strong suction cup mount and I just set it up in the rear with my phone once the train got rollin, then went to my seat and went to sleep. No one bothered me... The fare was like $16 for the one way.
