Like imagine if you were playing Mario and then sudenly at world 6 something hapens to Mario and Peach gets to take the role of saving him. The only thing I don't like about this is that it doesn't have the final boss theme from the arcade version. But it's not that big of a problem. The game seems great and I can't wait to try it out myself.
This version is faithful to arcade version not only because Genesis and arcade have Motorola 68000, but both versions were developed by Toaplan. 20 extra stages, passwords and cutscenes are not enough to Genesis version being merely different from arcade version.
The last Levels and bosses would be like if in Bubble Bobble Bub and Bob rescued Betty and Patty at the end of Bubble Bobble only for Bub and Bob to be kidnapped and now Betty/Peb and Patty/Pab have to rescue Bub and Bob from the Bad Guys.

Honey, aliens living 4M light years away must have advanced technology, so, by the time of the dinasours the must've been really advanced. So, the fact that this alienesque monster kidnapped the snow brothers fits a narrative. They all lived in this happy fantasy land and aliens came to take over the place, so the princesse had to rescue the bros going through a castle and finding a spaceship with that bitch trying to take snow and bros to her planet.

I actually think the Mega Drive (Genesis) version of this is superior to the original arcade in many ways.
I only just found out about the Mega Drive version today, and am awestruck that it has 20 extra levels!
I used to play this on arcade and man wow the Megadrive Version looks pretty damn good

I haven´t known about the "extra stages" after Level 50 (Final Boss). And the villain here looks like a generic Sailor Moon's villain
