It's such a breath of fresh air to hear someone who actually enjoys the Saw movies talk about them. Absolutely love your energy my guy, hope to see more from you!
I like seeing both sides! Though hearing it from a person who can generally enjoy Saw for what it is as a franchise is very relieving. Most reviews are overly negative.
Dalt, you and me both love this franchise and honestly, I haven’t seen anyone do it justice as much as you have when covering it on UA-cam. I remember first watching the first saw video you put out and was amazed. Keep up the great work, the quality of your videos really shows. Maybe you could even touch on the saw games. Thank you Dalt!
i really appreciate the kind words, that means a lot to me. i'm glad i could do this amazingly bizarre franchise some justice, it's a lot of fun :) also the games! i remember really liking the first one and then the second one not as much, might have to revisit them!
My list: 11th= Jigsaw (2017) 10th= Spiral (2021) 9th= Saw 3D/ VI/ The Final Chapter (2010) 8th= Saw IV (2007) 7th= Saw V (2008) 6th= Saw 0.5/ Saw: The Short Film (2003) 5th= Saw II (2005) 4th= Saw III (2006) 🥉3rd= Saw X (2023) 🥈2nd= Saw VI (2009) 🥇1st= Saw (2004)
@@ripdalt I think for me, it’s more enjoyable after watching the musical adaptation (‘Saw The Musical: The Unauthorized Parody of Saw’). It’s where they take the original plot of Saw (2004) but really play into the popular chainshipping theory (the idea Adam & Lawrence have crushes on each other) and there’s so many good jokes.
i feel like the problem with spiral is that it doesn't really feel like a saw movie. i know that they wanted to take the franchise in a new direction but by doing that they ignored some of the things that made people love the it. Example, for a lot of people (myself included) it's the aprentices' antics and their crazed ideologies that make the movies more enjoyable. when you're invested in the storyline, movies like saw 2 and saw x really give you some insight as to why they are the way that they are and you really feel for them. But then you cut to ten years later to a story that could have been a standalone, humor that feels forced and out of place and characters that have little to no personality and you struggle to get invested. Chris Rock said that he wanted to take his career in a new direction and while I like him as an actor, it felt more like a movie for him and not to actually bring value to the franchise
exactly, i enjoy 5-7 BECAUSE of hoffman and his shenanigans, he's so much fun to watch. i also like chris rock, but this just didn't feel like something that could vault him into being a "serious" actor
Every time, and I mean every single time Dalt uploads a movie about SAW, I will watch it. Best SAW videos on UA-cam. Good videos in general, but best SAW videos!
Here's a fun fact, the main female protagonist Lynn Denlon in Saw 3 (played by Bahar Soomekh) IRL is the mom of Paralympic athlete Ezra Frech who just won two gold medals for Team USA.
i'm honestly shocked at how close this is to my personal list. only thing I'd switch is Saw 4 and 5, but Saw 6 getting the respect it deserves makes me so happy. thank you for doing a deep dive on my favorite movie series
"you have 10 seconds to fill a 8 foot deep pool with your blood, while having no limbs, no eyes, no ears, on fire, and with only a butterknife, you have 5 seconds, good luck"
My Ranking Of The Saw Franchise: 1. Saw (Original) 2. Saw X 3. Saw 2 4. Saw 3 5. Saw 6 6. Spiral: From The Book Of Saw 7. Jigsaw 8. Saw 4 9. Saw 5 10. Saw 7 (Saw 3D: The Final Chapter)
Love your generous Saw content! Here's my ranking: 10. Saw 3D. Personally, I find it awful. It feels like a tasteless parody or a cynical, soulless cash grab. 9. Spiral 8. Saw IV 7. Saw V 6. Saw VI 5. Jigsaw. I guess that I like this one more than most Saw fans...It's fun and entertaining. In a sense, Jigsaw is a more accessible and "light" entry in the franchise, which makes its rewatch value quite high if you ask me. The barn setting and atmosphere are cool. The "Here's your key to freedom" scene is particularly memorable. 4. Saw X. Refreshing, exciting, solid and remarkable Saw movie. It puts me right back in the spirit of the mid 2000's when I was just discovering the franchise. 3. Saw II 2. Saw 1. Saw III. I have a deep connection with this one. For me, it's the most powerful, emotional, multi-layered and profound entry in the franchise. It's extremely effective. Paradoxically, it's the most brutal, and also the most human one, which is quite an achievement. A great Horror film and a great Tragedy, with an epic, devastating and mind-blowing (pun intended 🤯) ending.
The saw franchise ties into my special interest towards horror movies and your videos are seriously some of the coolest things to me,, love your saw content so much!! Cant wait to see what other stuff you put out, saw or not:D
Watched all of your individual Saw videos and ended it with this one. Great work! I love this goofy franchise. I'm glad you do too. I'll definitely be sticking around to see what you make next!
I can't believe how close your ranking is to my personal one. Only differences is I had 1 right above 6, 8 right above 7, and 10 right below 3 and 5. Excellent ranking and analysis. I love seeing people praise 6, because it's always exciting when a film that late in the series is so great. No matter how old I get and how refined my film taste might become, I still never stop loving the Saw films; it's one of my guilty pleasures of cinema, nothing short of a horror soap opera.
Happy you included .5, and enjoyed listening Dalt. 6 was originally #1 for me, but something about it… felt off later on as I rewatched it. Cheers til Saw XI!
Despite all of the issues, I love the Saw series so much, here is my rank when it comes to this and I love your saw reviews!: 1. Saw 2. Saw II 3. Spiral: From The Book of Saw 4. Saw X 5. Saw IV 6. Saw VI 7. Jigsaw 8. Saw III 9. Saw V 10. Saw 3D
I respect your opinion more than mine, as I’ve only watched the movies once each. So far, I would put Spiral above Jigsaw, just in terms of how much I enjoyed the movies. Spiral had some of the gnarliest visuals in the whole franchise (the hanging tongue, the skin flaying), which was truly horrific to watch. The pacing was fun in my opinion. Of course we get nothing from our beloved saw characters so that’s the only flaw imo. I would watch it again.
you should respect your opinion! that's the best thing about it, we can differ and still enjoy things :) also, that bit about spiral's visuals is 100% fair, one of the best looking ones in the franchise
I searched saw movie ranked randomly (I wasn't on my phn so had no idea that dalt posted a vid). When I saw DALT MADE A VID ON THE TOPIC. I almost choked on my lunch. " Mom, I think I'm gonna be late for lunch, AGAIN!!!! " Also I'd love to see a video about what do would like to see in the next saw movies (11 or 12). Keep it up with the saw videos man. We need more from ya :)
This is scarily close to my rankings. I think I'd swap X and 2, just because I personally find Saw 2s trap plot a little dull at times, but this is a great list!
For a movie that feels like a Saw movie? Yeah. Jigaaw is last for sure. I forgot midway through Spiral first and only watch this was a new movie in the Saw franchise.
I do feel one thing must be pointed out with Saw X… You said you only need to have seen Saw 1 to understand it. I disagree. If you only watched the first film, you wouldn’t know that Amanda become an apprentice, nor would you have even heard of Hoffman, so he would come out of nowhere in that context. If you skipped the mid-credits scene, then you need to have also seen Saw 2 before seeing Saw X, but for full context (and for Saw X to have the most impact timeline wise) to me you need to seen Saws 1-4 (especially since as I have pointed out, Saw X improves Saws 2-4 the most), but that’s my take.
y'know that's completely fair. my thing with it is that he still introduces her in x as his apprentice, so if someone hadn't seen any of the sequels, that works too, just in a bit of a lazier way. but i definitely see what you mean
saw 6 winner !!!!!!! my current favs are 6 - 1 - 5. while i think 1 is the most incredible movie ever made (?) 6 is my favorite at heart, i love that heavy atmosphere and the ending is just 🙏 crazy
my list isn't all that fleshed out, but 10. jigsaw 09. saw 3D 08. saw 4 (not the worst ever but it look me like 4 hours to watch it, its a sloooow crawl) 07. spiral 06. saw x 05. saw 6 04. saw 5 (the yaoi goes crazy. just think if it as a breakup movie and its perfect❤) 03. saw 2 02. saw 3 (i can barely rewatch it though because its so emotionally heavy, i can fix you amanda!!) 01. saw (also a comfort movie. all time classic. the yaoi goes ballistic. only appearance of live adam. the man who lives as a ghost in his own life now forever lives as a ghost within the franchise only occasionally showing up as a bathroom skeleton. my darling.) ive loved your saw videos so much!!!!! so excited to see what else youre doing!!!!
I think my ranking would have to be: 1. Saw, nothing beats the original! 2. Saw 2: one of the best sequels 3. Saw X: Perfect 4. Saw V: Absolutely crazy 5. Saw VI: One of the best games in the series 6. Saw 3D: IDK it's fun 7. Saw III: Slow and I hate Jeff 8. Saw IV: No John no Saw 9. Spiral: ass 10. Jigsaw: ass^2 Loved your analysis of this franchise, can't wait to see what you've got up your sleeve next . Much love to you and this fantastic community you have!
I think I was thinking I am not sure if I disliked any of these movies because it’s my first time really seeing any one of them! I grew up when they came out and even worked in a theatre when they did 😅 but didn’t really have time to catch a lot of movies (and a bit chicken tbh) that being said I think your note on saw 3 might be the closest to my feelings. When Amanda and etc are in the makeshift OR is on screen I feel most interested. I’ve worked in oncology for 10 years and have personal stakes in the specialty as most in their respective specialties often do. It’s hard to watch Jeff. I think it’s an interesting concept, before I worked as an oncology nurse I tutored on the pediatric oncology ward as a kid. I’ve definitely seen many of those family dynamics play out in real life. That being said, I don’t understand it. It may be my own anger towards those experiences but I disliked that one the most. TLDR: Amanda got my knees BUCKLIN 🫠 and Jeff ass^2
I get what you’re saying about Jeff, but it’s implied and shown that through his grief over his son, he was incredibly neglectful to the other child that he had. I understand grief is hard, but to ignore your other child who is also grieving their sibling being gone, it doesn’t make him as likeable to me. I’m pretty sure that was half the reason why he was put to the test, as he had to let go of what happened so that he could save his other kid who was trapped away, who needed him. That’s what I took from it anyway.
@@ripdalt I’m pretty sure Hoffman actually “ saved “ her to make himself look good if I remember correctly, part of his scheme to make sure nobody suspected him! So in a way it kind of worked out for him that Jeff failed his test
Jigsaw/Spiral are tied for last at both being 10th and 9th place. Saw VII is in 8th place. IV is 7th place X is 6th place V is fifth VI is fourth II Is third III is second And I is is 1st to me
@@ripdalt yeah, they're just not holding up to the rest, but they're also not bad movies overall. I have a soft spot for the original 3, and the second one is so good, especially after becoming a dad, feeling Matthew's anguish even closer to heart than before
Good commentary on my favourite series makes the brain chemicals buzz happy!! I guess I might be a mild hypocrite, but its so goddamn nice seeing someone not just. Tear the other Saw films apart even when its not one that they like? Ive heard so much hatred for Spiral and Jigsaw, and like. Yeah, im not gonna contest that theyre different, but if we're gonna have new films going forward, we're gonna have to be a bit different. I still thought that they were fun entries, and so just. Idk man I can't words. I agree with you on someee placings, if pull down 7 and 5 as my personal least favourites?! As much as i accept him as part of the franchise and i guess i was glad to see him in X, I've never quite gotten over how jarring i found his introductions. "You saw this scene, but did you know Hoffman was definitely also there!?" Its the other elements of the film that bring it back up for me; Strahm and the Fatal 5. Id slightly tweak the top- Saws 2, 6 and X all build on the original, and I. Thiiiiink Id put them in that order? Im not sure? I agree with everything youve got to say about 3, however- its Amanda's game and its so. Deeply upsetting but effectively so. I love Mandy so so so much.
Nice to see someone passionate about the series and I too truly enjoy Hoffman as a villain and cheered when he showed up in the credits of Saw X, heres my list of my enjoyment watching them: 1. Saw 6 2. Saw 2 3. Saw 4 4. Saw 5. Saw X 6. Saw 7 7. Spiral 8. Saw 5 9. Jigsaw 10. Saw 3
@ripdalt it's mostly Slow MotherF**Ken Jeff lol, and the injustice Lynn got at the end, I enjoyed her scenes a lot. Maybe I am being too harsh on it, it'd be 9 at best but yeah I can't stand Jeff. Traps were great in that one though, and even if they were unwinnable it was all Amanda and possibly Hoffman that set them up rigged
Your passion for the Saw franchise is inspiring. I am curious as to where you would rank the other horror franchises behind Saw. (maybe a future video....)
Personally, my ranking is 10. Jigsaw 9. Saw 7 / 3D / Final Chapter / Whatever 8. Saw IV 7. Saw V 6. Spiral 5. Saw X 4. Saw VI 3. Saw II 2. Saw 1. Saw III But I really appreciated your perspectives! Great reviews
It's crazy how similar our lists are! For me, 5 would be one spot higher, only because I LOVE the cat and mouse with Hoffman and Strahm so much. Hoffman is my favorite character in the series, every scene he's in is captivating. Saw 6 is the best hands down and I'm so glad to see it at #1. The game, the Hoffman, and commentaries on healthcare????? Perfect.
@ripdalt honestly if he wasn't in the movies past 3, the series would not of been as enjoyable. He's just the best part of many movies. Costas was the perfect person to portray him.
hey dalt! love your videos (my #1 is saw x, that's how i got introduced to the series so i'm biased) maybe you can do a video talking about jigsaw's philosophy or just about the apprentices themselves and how they compare? either way, thank you for making saw content :)
dalt this is a great video and i really agree w most of your takes but is that the persona 5 soundtrack in the background😭😭😭 bc it’s the only thing my mind can focus on (it’s literally my study music)
Thank you for this video. As someone who loves the entire Saw series with all its highs and lows, this was very enjoyable. I'll be sure to check out some more of your stuff. ✌️
Don’t ask me why, I don’t have the answers. But my ranking is: 1: saw 2: III 3. II 4. X 5. IV 6. VI 7. IV 8. VII 9. Jigsaw 10. Spiral Does it make sense? No. Are they based on how good the movie is? No. It’s just purely vibes.
Awesome rankings I also have to say on a side note I never thought I would hear Sonic Heroes music play while Saw 3 was being reviewed. I was like woah sonic! lmao cheers man
I disagree with everything in this video (this is a joke) great vid :) I know you said you were done with Saw stuff but uhhhhhh would love to see you rank/tierlist every trap lmao (Edit: I realize I'm part of the youtube ranking/tierlist farm problem lol, there just so addicting!!!!!!)
@@ripdalt Gotcha, what about something like on top of the ranking, you could say if you think you could survive the trap? I don't know how original that idea is but it could be fun :)
Dalt, you keep spoiling us. A SAW ranking, how are we so lucky. Keep talking about SAW, I’ll watch. Ps last pieces of my Billy Halloween costume are coming together.
I have only rewatched the 1st and 2nd movies, rest I've seen once, so my opinion might change in the future, but here is my list: 10. Jigsaw (boring, useless, boring) 9. Saw IV (I like the plot but the pacing just makes is such a hard watch) 8. Saw VII (I like the idea, but it was kind of nothing? the traps were mid (accept for the neo-nazi one which is a top 3 saw trap), it all feels random and pointless) 7. Spiral (nothing interesting tbh, some of the traps are pretty gnarly though) 6. Saw V (I love the main trap, like the fact that they had to cooperate probably my favorite plot twist but I hate how disconnected it is from the Strahm - Hoffman storyline) 5. Saw II (I love it, but I hate how some traps remain not shown / explained, making the blonde lady and the black-haired lady kind of useless) 4. Saw I (I don't understand what was supposed to happen in that bathroom. Like, what was Adam supposed to do? In every other saw movie they get an clear explaination and they'll eventually understand it but Adam is just left there, because of what? I still like it, it has the best soundtrack and includes two Lost actors (especially Ben Linus???). Only reasons why it is above Saw II) 3. Saw X (If it makes sense I think this is 'objectively' the best one? It's so well crafted and it recieved actual critical acclaim, it's like they finally got it right. It's the saw movie that I would most likely recomend to someone who's not into horror movies) 2. Saw III (I disagree with the argument about Jeff or whatever his name is being only a grieving father. In the movie he actively neglects his very alive daughter who needs him. He's also just ruining his life in general. I feel like this self-descructive process just has to end somewhere. And jeff being so goddamn stupid and learning absolutely nothing the entire movie makes the ending so bittersweet. Also after I saw this movie I just decided that I was going to like it more than the others.) 1. Saw VI (I'm glad to see someone who I can agree with that it is the best saw movie. Every trap is perfect. The acting (especially when they decode the voice from the pendulem trap) is exquisite. It also has the thing that made me fall in love with the saw movies; the fact that jigsaw is not just a vengance driven killer, he has an entire philosophy on who deserves to live and how do you prove it. Also I love how the main trap is so on topic with actual problems of the US at large. The only movie where Hoffman is an okay character)
that's a completely fair point about jeff, he really is ruining what he has left. as for adam, his key was in the tub, but went down the drain (i think because we see amanda just toss it on him in a later movie, instead of place it around his neck or something) very epic back luck
Really good insights. I almost completely agree, though I'd personally swap Saw X and Saw (2004)'s placements. I only recently got into Saw after playing as The Pig in Dead by Daylight and really enjoying her gameplay, which lead to me binging the entire franchise in two days and falling madly in love with these films. This channel has been incredibly encouraging for my newfound obsession lol
I haven’t seen any other videos like this but I would love to see people rank the Saw victims from most deserving to least deserving on a tier list. From the janitor smoker getting put into a trap in Saw 6 and Bobby’s wife in Saw 3D, to Cecil who caused Jill’s miscarriage or Cecilia who faked having a lifesaving treatment for John’s cancer. Complete opposites
At first, I thought the second one was a bit overhyped, but after looking deeper into it, grew on me. But damn, I love the characters and their wild interactions. Some tend to think 'Saw' is just about those nasty traps, but there's so much more to it. The twists and turns are crazy! It's a mix of good and bad. Sometimes it's genuinely good, and sometimes it's so bad that it becomes enjoyable in its own way. 💃💃💃
that's me too! but i agree, some of their dialogue is so bizarre it ends up being funny, and then it's no longer funny when the traps start back up lmao
I'm a terminal saw 6 hater but I still enjoy it and I totally agree with your reasons for liking it. It's interesting to see what others value differently in the saw movies and I agree with all the points you make, I just hold different aspects as more important, and that makes this ranking so enjoyable. It's nice to see someone who really likes the saw franchise talk about it like this and not feel so much frustration at the video maker for really basic interpretation stuff. All that said, I do think saw 5 should get points taken off for the water cube trap. Meant to be unsurvivable, but actually one of the easiest if not THE easiest trap to survive: DRINK. THE. WATER.
@@ripdalt it was Pretty good to me. I hate how they disconnected us from the Prometheus story and brought David back as a mad scientist, brings down it from like a 7.5 to a 6.1
@@p-ruthless9005I FORGOT PROMETHEUS. I saw that thing first night it was out and I guess just like erased it from my brain DVR 😅. I didn’t even know about covenant 😂. Welp looks like a have some movies to watch!
Here’s my rank (worst to best): 10. Saw 3D - I can’t believe you didn’t have this dead last. The only one I can say I “dislike”, but I totally agree it has a bonkers good finale once Hoffman comes out of the body bag. 9. Jigsaw 8. Spiral 7. Saw VI - Sorry, I really DO like this one, but I just like to others more, I guess. William’s game is great, but could have used another scene or two exploring Hoffman’s “brutality” via flashbacks. 6. Saw II - Yeah, I’m crucified for putting II (and VI) so low, but I assure you I like these movies. But I will say: the people in the house becomes a little tedious upon re-watches. The Donnie Wahlberg/Tobin Bell stuff is legendary. 5. Saw V - I LOVE this one and find it super underrated when watching others’ ranking list here on UA-cam. It was the Saw movie we needed for the point in the series we were at. The Fatal 5 aren’t the best “victims of the week” but are fun to watch and thankfully don’t actually take too much screen time. Strahm is one of my favorite Saw characters and was shocked by his death in the end, and solidified Hoffman as a villain to love to hate. 4. Saw IV 3 Saw X 2. Saw III - This one is a virtual tie for first, but if pressed for a definite placement, second isn’t bad. You should do a video covering how this is the only Saw movie with THREE versions. The “Director’s Cut” (NOT to be confused with the “Unrated Cut”) is my preferred version. In fact, 4-6 have minor but notable differences between the R-rated and unrated cuts, and a whole video could probably be made on the minute differences between the different cuts, which aren’t JUST more added gore. 1. Saw - I still remember how hard that twist ending slaps. Absolutely amazing. The movie up to JUST before the ending feels like a more bat-shit insane incarnation of the post-Seven era of cinema, especially with the “creepy hospital orderly” being the bad guy. Made me think in particular of Leland Orser in The Bone Collector. But everything about this movie and it’s execution turned this sub-genre on its head in a delightfully twisted manner. Now, PLEASE do a video for Repo! The Genetic Opera
nice list! i respect the saw iii love :) really the ONLY thing keeping saw 3d from the bottom is hoffman, you're absolutely right, once he gets out of the body bag, it's time to lock in! as for repo!, i can definitely get to it at some point! :)
My top: 1. Saw (2004) 2. Saw III (2006) 3. Saw II (2005) 4. Saw X (2023) 5. Saw IV (2007) 6. Saw VI (2009) 7. Saw V (2008) 8. Saw 3D (2010) 9. Spiral: from the book of Saw (2021) 10. Jigsaw (2017)
Saw is my favorite franchise, and my ranking is very similar to yours. My rankings have shifted over the years, as I used to have 3 as my favorite, but now it's in fifth place. My top four are some order of 1,2,6, and X. I used to have 2 much lower when I was younger, but it's one of the most rewatchable, and the John/Eric parts are great. Jigsaw and Spiral compete for the bottom spot, although I think Saw 7 is technically worse. I have more of an attachment to 7 because it fits with the original run of movies, despite how mediocre it can be. I'm hoping Saw XI is able to carry the quality from X. A big reason why I love this franchise is because the team behind it have passion for it.
My Rankings: 10. Jigsaw (Saw if it was written for the MCU) 9. Saw 3d (Pink blood, poorly written, didn't like Gordan fan service) 8. Spiral (Admire they tried something different although it misses) 7. Saw 5 (would of liked more Strahm/Hoffman, Game was good) 6. Saw 4 (The game/twist is genuinely fun although nonsensical, Hoffman reveal) 5. Saw 3 (the real finale of the franchise, although leaves questions unanswered) 4. Saw X (Best horror prequel ever?) 3. Saw 6 (Where the hell did this awesome film come from?) 2. Saw (The OG) 1. Saw 2 (The best horror sequel ever!)
You know, I never got the hate for the Spiral voice. I know, it’s not as instantly recognizable as John Kramer’s voice, but I thought it did the job well, and showed off that Spiral was going to be a more or less standalone movie. I actually did find it a bit unsettling, though that might have just been because the traps there were pretty gnarly, imo. Anyways, you know how it is. Another Dalt W, man can’t stop racking them up at this point. Always a pleasure to see you in my feed!
it's just SO uncanny and odd to me. it's probably creepier than john's, maybe unsettling is a better word for it. but it just makes me laugh every time :) and thank you for watching, as always :)
@@ripdalt I get that, something about it just sounds really uncanny. It's like one of those cheesy text-to-speech ai voices you see on Tiktok nowadays. It's close enough to a real voice, but it's just off enough to be uncomfortable.
I love his voice 😂 I think I found it cute because it was the exact way my little cousin would sound pretending to do John Kramers voice. None of us had seen the films but it was still known through osmosis “you have three minutes to go to McDonald’s before I do a big stinky fart” and he’d roll up the windows and lock them 😂 he was such a goofy kid. So everytime during spiral I kept thinking “Hello officer, you’ve been seen in clear violation of the sugon…”
Gordon being an apprentice makes a little sense when you take into account that Hoffman,John, and amanda probably wouldnt be able to do any surgical stuff (I like to pretend that Logan doesnt exist because he breaks the timeline into pieces)
1. Saw IV - I watched it with my girlfriend, because we were doing a Saw Marathon, and let me tell you: both of us were laughing so much at how nothing makes any sense anymore, at those incredibly funny and out of nowhere transitions. As I had watched all of them several times before, I could detect that she was having more fun during it. And later she ranked it as her favorite, also. 2. Saw VII (3D) - Also because nothing, and I mean NOTHING makes any semblance of sense - I love it. Oh, my girlfriend cheered when John´s ex-wife "Finally fucking died!". Hahahaha. 3. Saw X - Just a well made film all around. Also, I watched it in theathers with my girlfriend. - Nice and romantic date, huh? Hahahaha. 4. Saw II - Because it was the first one I watch as a kid and had to start going to therapy for insomnia caused by one of last scenes. I swear I´m not making this up! Hahahahaha. 5. Saw I - Because, just as X, it´s just a well made movie all around. It´s not higher, because it´s not as funny or bonkers as the above - even if it´still very funny at times. 6. Saw VI - While being one of the better made, technically, it just doesn´t catches me as much nowadays - love the carousel sequence, though! :) 7. Saw III - Honestly, because Amanda is pretty hot in it. Hahahaha. Man, I can´t stand Jeff. Holy shit... ! 8. Saw V - I find it boring, sincerely. 9. Jigsaw - Just a nothing movie. IDK. 10. Spiral - I couldn´t stomach the thought of watching a Saw movie made and acted by Chris Rock, so I never watched it. Hahahaha Great series of videos, dude! Whatever you come up with, next, I´ll be surelly, and with great pleasure, watching it. Cheers and have a good weekend!
Aw shet you shouldn’t have told me you can skip from Saw I straight to X because I’m damn near about to, I’m one film in and dying to see Amanda’s story develop And holy shrimp paste, Whannell’s big ass saucer eyes in the short film when he’s in the bear trap, he makes the best dude in distress. And Billy’s little hat????? I’ve been robbed!!!!!
Saw franchise is my favorite of all time, this is my ranking: 1. Saw 2. Saw X 3. Saw II 4. Saw VI 5. Saw III 6. Saw 3D 7. Saw IV 8. Saw V 9. Spiral 10. Jigsaw The original gets top spot for kicking off the franchise and the twist ending Spiral and Jigsaw are interchangeable, Spiral is only ahead cuz I like the traps more

hello everyone! i hope you enjoy this one, _surely_ everyone will be super cool and agreeing in the comments :) i appreciate everyone for watching!
Dearest Dalt, this channel randomly being recommended to me has singlehandedly sparked my curiosity and now enthrallment with this series
that's what it's all about for me, i'm glad i could help you get into the beautiful chaos of this series :)
Thank you Dalt!
i really appreciate the kind words, that means a lot to me. i'm glad i could do this amazingly bizarre franchise some justice, it's a lot of fun :) also the games! i remember really liking the first one and then the second one not as much, might have to revisit them!
part v section being 'strahm and hoffman yaoi' so true dalt!
enemies to lovers arc goes crazy every time
Love the little reference through the timestamp to the one time they played saw iv instead of the bee movie
hehehe :)
This is a series that's content to be pretty good within its genre, with the main distinction being much bigger than any of its competition.
especially within it's own little subgenre, definitely far and away from the rest
My list:
11th= Jigsaw (2017)
10th= Spiral (2021)
9th= Saw 3D/ VI/ The Final Chapter (2010)
8th= Saw IV (2007)
7th= Saw V (2008)
6th= Saw 0.5/ Saw: The Short Film (2003)
5th= Saw II (2005)
4th= Saw III (2006)
🥉3rd= Saw X (2023)
🥈2nd= Saw VI (2009)
🥇1st= Saw (2004)
pretty similar! i always have to respect an original enjoyer
Good videos in general, but best SAW videos!
i appreciate you watching every time :)
SAW SIX TRUTHERS RISE UPPPP
WOOOOOO
Here's a fun fact, the main female protagonist Lynn Denlon in Saw 3 (played by Bahar Soomekh) IRL is the mom of Paralympic athlete Ezra Frech who just won two gold medals for Team USA.
wait that's SO cool!!
So she’s a gold medal milf? 🤔
On the real, that’s cool! Had no idea 🤷♂️
i'm honestly shocked at how close this is to my personal list. only thing I'd switch is Saw 4 and 5, but Saw 6 getting the respect it deserves makes me so happy. thank you for doing a deep dive on my favorite movie series
4 and 5 are very close for me, so that's a switch i can see :) i'm so glad you've enjoyed, thank you for watching me gush about this silly series
"you have 10 seconds to fill a 8 foot deep pool with your blood, while having no limbs, no eyes, no ears, on fire, and with only a butterknife, you have 5 seconds, good luck"
"a little help here?? anyone?? okay..."

That made me laugh way harder than it should've lmao
idk what led me to it, but i'm so glad i did lmao
My Ranking Of The Saw Franchise:
1. Saw (Original)
2. Saw X
3. Saw 2
4. Saw 3
5. Saw 6
6. Spiral: From The Book Of Saw
7. Jigsaw
8. Saw 4
9. Saw 5
10. Saw 7 (Saw 3D: The Final Chapter)
combo of spiral and jigsaw higher than i expected, that's nice :)
Love your generous Saw content! Here's my ranking:
10. Saw 3D. Personally, I find it awful. It feels like a tasteless parody or a cynical, soulless cash grab.
9. Spiral
8. Saw IV
7. Saw V
6. Saw VI
3. Saw II
2. Saw
1. Saw III. I have a deep connection with this one. For me, it's the most powerful, emotional, multi-layered and profound entry in the franchise. It's extremely effective. Paradoxically, it's the most brutal, and also the most human one, which is quite an achievement. A great Horror film and a great Tragedy, with an epic, devastating and mind-blowing (pun intended 🤯) ending.
wow jigsaw at 5 is not something i saw coming, but i do love a saw 3 appreciator :)
The saw franchise ties into my special interest towards horror movies and your videos are seriously some of the coolest things to me,, love your saw content so much!! Cant wait to see what other stuff you put out, saw or not:D
i'm glad you like em! thank you for watching everything :)
Watched all of your individual Saw videos and ended it with this one. Great work! I love this goofy franchise. I'm glad you do too. I'll definitely be sticking around to see what you make next!
thank you so much! i've got plenty of fun stuff comin :)
I can't believe how close your ranking is to my personal one. Only differences is I had 1 right above 6, 8 right above 7, and 10 right below 3 and 5. Excellent ranking and analysis. I love seeing people praise 6, because it's always exciting when a film that late in the series is so great. No matter how old I get and how refined my film taste might become, I still never stop loving the Saw films; it's one of my guilty pleasures of cinema, nothing short of a horror soap opera.
that's so awesome, honestly a solid switchup too. can't go wrong with the original! thank you for watching! :)
You had me with almost every single ranking until the last. To each their own but that movie doesn't break top three for me personally.
that's okay, everyone can be different :)
Billy riding on the Trojan horse to say “Hello Troy” was so funny

Happy you included .5, and enjoyed listening Dalt. 6 was originally #1 for me, but something about it… felt off later on as I rewatched it.
Cheers til Saw XI!
that's completely fair, my rankings of pretty much every franchise changes so much after rewatches, so it could very well do the same for me
Straum & Hoffman used to have me so confused because I had a hard time telling them apart. They look so much alike 😅

Despite all of the issues, I love the Saw series so much, here is my rank when it comes to this and I love your saw reviews!:
1. Saw
2. Saw II
3. Spiral: From The Book of Saw
4. Saw X
5. Saw IV
6. Saw VI
7. Jigsaw
8. Saw III
9. Saw V
10. Saw 3D
i had i feeling spiral would be high for you, that's pretty cool :)
Everytime… yes multiple times. I have laughed so hard at the “hello Troy” clip 😂
lmao it's so silly, but i like it :)
Also I'd love to see a video about what do would like to see in the next saw movies (11 or 12). Keep it up with the saw videos man. We need more from ya :)

@@ripdalt LMAO I was trynna controll my screen time. But how can I not watch your video on saw LOL :)
This is scarily close to my rankings. I think I'd swap X and 2, just because I personally find Saw 2s trap plot a little dull at times, but this is a great list!
that's totally fair, they were very close for my ranking as well :) thank you for watching!
0:34 I’m upset to see spiral last, Jigsaw is a really poor made movie but I still have full respect to you and your opinions
they're really neck and neck here, but i'm glad we can disagree and still be civil :)
For a movie that feels like a Saw movie? Yeah. Jigaaw is last for sure. I forgot midway through Spiral first and only watch this was a new movie in the Saw franchise.
@@ALBINOCAT22 I only enjoy the barn segments in the film, the reckoning just ruins the whole film for me
I do feel one thing must be pointed out with Saw X…
You said you only need to have seen Saw 1 to understand it.
Blah blah blah
saw 6 winner !!!!!!!
my current favs are 6 - 1 - 5. while i think 1 is the most incredible movie ever made (?) 6 is my favorite at heart, i love that heavy atmosphere and the ending is just 🙏 crazy
that's literally me. like 1 is definitely better, but 6 hits all the sweet spots for me
6 is one of my favorite movies of all time
my list isn't all that fleshed out, but
10. jigsaw
09. saw 3D
08. saw 4 (not the worst ever but it look me like 4 hours to watch it, its a sloooow crawl)
07. spiral
06. saw x
05. saw 6
04. saw 5 (the yaoi goes crazy. just think if it as a breakup movie and its perfect❤)
03. saw 2
02. saw 3 (i can barely rewatch it though because its so emotionally heavy, i can fix you amanda!!)
01. saw (also a comfort movie. all time classic. the yaoi goes ballistic. only appearance of live adam. the man who lives as a ghost in his own life now forever lives as a ghost within the franchise only occasionally showing up as a bathroom skeleton. my darling.)
ive loved your saw videos so much!!!!! so excited to see what else youre doing!!!!

2. Saw 2: one of the best sequels
3. Saw X: Perfect
4. Saw V: Absolutely crazy
5. Saw VI: One of the best games in the series
6. Saw 3D: IDK it's fun
7. Saw III: Slow and I hate Jeff
8. Saw IV: No John no Saw
9. Spiral: ass
10. Jigsaw: ass^2

ooo nice ranking! ass^2 took me out lmao
Banger list tho!! Love hearing different opinions like this :)
that's a fair point, they still had the daughter to care for. but i think jigsaw has a nice plan for her lmaooo
IV is 7th place
X is 6th place

VI is fourth

@@ripdalt yeah, they're just not holding up to the rest, but they're also not bad movies overall. I have a soft spot for the original 3, and the second one is so good, especially after becoming a dad, feeling Matthew's anguish even closer to heart than before
Who up jiggin they saw
MEEEEE
😂
I love Mandy so so so much.
it's just way more fun for me to talk about things positively, so this was really fun :) i'm glad some other people can share that as well!
Your top 3 are my exact rankings too, and so are your bottom 3. Fascinating video to watch!
oooh nice! i feel like everything in the middle could easily be switched around

1. Saw 6
2. Saw 2
3. Saw 4
4. Saw
5. Saw X
6. Saw 7
7. Spiral
8. Saw 5
9. Jigsaw
10. Saw 3
thank you! :) saw 3 robbed :o what makes that one last place for you?
@ripdalt it's mostly Slow MotherF**Ken Jeff lol, and the injustice Lynn got at the end, I enjoyed her scenes a lot. Maybe I am being too harsh on it, it'd be 9 at best but yeah I can't stand Jeff. Traps were great in that one though, and even if they were unwinnable it was all Amanda and possibly Hoffman that set them up rigged
From 10th to 5th rank (not counting the 2003 short) I agree 100% with you, only from 4th to 1st my rankings get diferent though
the top 4 are really hard for me to have a solid ranking on, they switch up so much

Perfect.
i can't really disagree with a hoffman enjoyer, their game really is so so good
@ripdalt honestly if he wasn't in the movies past 3, the series would not of been as enjoyable. He's just the best part of many movies. Costas was the perfect person to portray him.
hey dalt! love your videos (my #1 is saw x, that's how i got introduced to the series so i'm biased) maybe you can do a video talking about jigsaw's philosophy or just about the apprentices themselves and how they compare? either way, thank you for making saw content :)

whatever else you were doing will still be there later (barring catastrophe). also, thank you for pausing to be here :)
I have only rewatched the 1st and 2nd movies, rest I've seen once, so my opinion might change in the future, but here is my list:
10. Jigsaw (boring, useless, boring)
9. Saw IV (I like the plot but the pacing just makes is such a hard watch)
8. Saw VII (I like the idea, but it was kind of nothing? the traps were mid (accept for the neo-nazi one which is a top 3 saw trap), it all feels random and pointless)
7. Spiral (nothing interesting tbh, some of the traps are pretty gnarly though)
6. Saw V (I love the main trap, like the fact that they had to cooperate probably my favorite plot twist but I hate how disconnected it is from the Strahm - Hoffman storyline)
5. Saw II (I love it, but I hate how some traps remain not shown / explained, making the blonde lady and the black-haired lady kind of useless)
4. Only reasons why it is above Saw II)
3. Saw X (If it makes sense I think this is 'objectively' the best one? It's so well crafted and it recieved actual critical acclaim, it's like they finally got it right. It's the saw movie that I would most likely recomend to someone who's not into horror movies)
2. Also after I saw this movie I just decided that I was going to like it more than the others.)
You definitely weren’t kidding when you said you weren’t done with Saw 😮 very much appreciated I love it
okay but now i am (for now, already thinking of new things to do with the franchise :) )
I have a question, you don't had too, but is it okay can you do the child play/Chucky movies?
i love chucky! i can put it in my notes to work on eventually! :)

This channel has been incredibly encouraging for my newfound obsession lol
fellow dbd enjoyer, nice :) i'm glad you were able to experience the peak cinema of the saw franchise :)
My list from worst to best. 3D, Spiral, Jigsaw, 3,4,5,1,2,6,X
x is very good, i get it :)
saw 1 takes the cake for me ^_^ the gay subtext & zep are absolutely unbeatable
that's absolutely fair, i love adam and lawrence
I absolutely hated Spiral and 🧩 Jigsaw. Both were just so boring.
absolutely, just feel nothing towards the characters and the traps aren't good enough to raise it off the floor
Complete opposites
oooh interesting, i feel like it'd be about 50/50 between deserving and undeserving
THE. WATER.
that's what it's all about really, just having nice dialogue about a franchise we all love :) thank you for watching and adding some insight!
YESSSSSSS‼️ SAW SIX IS ALWAYS ON TOP!!!💯💯 WHAT THE FUCK IS A PIRANHA!🔥🔥🔥
PIRAHHHHHHHHNA
💀 dog that had me dead. WE GETTIN OUT THE BATHROOM 🚽 WITH THIS ONE ☝️ 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥
Please por favor do a breakdown of the Alien movies next Those movies are amazing (besides covenant)
i liked covenant too! kinda lmao. i'd love to do the alien series eventually, i'll put it in my to-do list :)
Here’s my rank (worst to best):
10. Saw 3D - I can’t believe you didn’t have this dead last. The only one I can say I “dislike”, but I totally agree it has a bonkers good finale once Hoffman comes out of the body bag.
9. Jigsaw
8. Spiral
4. Saw IV
3 Saw X
My heart stopped at 17:27 because that is my first name and I felt called out.
hello, troy >:)
@@ripdalt Heart rate: 39k BPM.
I wish we could get an extended cut of Saw X. Maybe a 2 hours and 35 minutes version of Saw X (2023).
gimme the snyder cut equivalent, make it way too long, i'll still watch
My top:
1. Saw (2004)
2. Saw III (2006)
3. Saw II (2005)
4. Saw X (2023)
5. Saw IV (2007)
6. Saw VI (2009)
7. Saw V (2008)
8. Saw 3D (2010)
9. Spiral: from the book of Saw (2021)
10. Jigsaw (2017)
a pretty good list! :)
A big reason why I love this franchise is because the team behind it have passion for it.
that's pretty much how i feel as well! there's definitely tiers to them, but 100% jigsaw and spiral bottom tier
My Rankings:
10. Jigsaw (Saw if it was written for the MCU)
9. Saw 3d (Pink blood, poorly written, didn't like Gordan fan service)
8. Spiral (Admire they tried something different although it misses)
7. Saw 5 (would of liked more Strahm/Hoffman, Game was good)
6. Saw 4 (The game/twist is genuinely fun although nonsensical, Hoffman reveal)
5. Saw 3 (the real finale of the franchise, although leaves questions unanswered)
4. Saw X (Best horror prequel ever?)
3. Saw 6 (Where the hell did this awesome film come from?)
2. Saw (The OG)
1. Saw 2 (The best horror sequel ever!)
a very nice list! can't really argue with it
You know, I never got the hate for the Spiral voice.
Gordon being an apprentice makes a little sense when you take into account that Hoffman,John, and amanda probably wouldnt be able to do any surgical stuff (I like to pretend that Logan doesnt exist because he breaks the timeline into pieces)
i always kinda figured john did it all, i like to think he's good at everything :)
6:30 also, saw 3D had a really weird thing going on with women; dead meat pointed it out in his kill count iirc
yeah i touched on that in my analysis of it, it's very disappointing
09:58 Omg Billy‘s got a tiny hat
he's ADORABLE
Hahahaha
Great series of videos, dude! Whatever you come up with, next, I´ll be surelly, and with great pleasure, watching it. Cheers and have a good weekend!
now THIS is the kinda list i'm here for, i love it. more chaos!
10 - Saw: The Final Chapter
9 - Jigsaw
8 - Spiral
7 - Saw IV
6 - Saw V
5 - Saw III
4 - Saw II
3 - Saw VI
2 - Saw X
1 - Saw
solid! :)
Aw shet you shouldn’t have told me you can skip from Saw I straight to X because I’m damn near about to, I’m one film in and dying to see Amanda’s story develop
And holy shrimp paste, Whannell’s big ass saucer eyes in the short film when he’s in the bear trap, he makes the best dude in distress. And Billy’s little hat????? I’ve been robbed!!!!!
amanda shines in saws 2 and 3! she's so so good :)
@@ripdalt Oh right but I like how X seems to cut down on the cop drama and deliver more interesting traps X)
Saw franchise is my favorite of all time, this is my ranking:
1. Saw
2. Saw X
3. Saw II
4. Saw VI
5. Saw III
6. Saw 3D
7. Saw IV
8. Saw V
9. Spiral
10. Jigsaw
The original gets top spot for kicking off the franchise and the twist ending
Spiral and Jigsaw are interchangeable, Spiral is only ahead cuz I like the traps more
a completely fair list, spiral does have some good traps to it
It's so hard for me to rank movies 1-6 because I love them all equally. Then Saw X, Saw 7, Jigsaw, and finally Spiral.
it was really tough to try and decide on mine as well, i love each and every one of them :)
