  • Tony Sentmanat AKA "Real World Tactical" puts our guys through one of the most grueling training sessions ever seen at The Super Training Gym. It's a battle royale to find out who's the fittest! So watch to see whether Strongman Alan Thrall, Crossfitter Ben Alderman & Body Builder/Powerlifter Nsima Inyang will come out on top! Tony starts the guys out easy with explosive frog jumps & bear crawls, then moves on to weighted burpees, sled sprints & box jumps, fireman carries & overhead dumbbell lunges, hackbar deadlifts while pulling a sled, tire flips, and lastly finish off with some dumbbell snatches & burpees.

    So, the crossfitter killed it. Who would have thought that the guy who uses a training methodology that includes intense cardiovascular workouts and heavy lifting would be the best at doing exactly that.

    • @matcoddy6097
      @matcoddy6097 7 років тому +2

      I've always believed crossfit was one of the closest relatives to strongman, even more so than powerlifting depending on the events and how there setup, any good channels or forums you recommend for strongman? its hard to find articles etc that aren't just for introductory strongmen

    • @jdyer26
      @jdyer26 7 років тому

      not sure. I just watch the big boys do events on UA-cam. most people train the events that are in next comp.

    I don't get why there's so much hate on this guy. His youtube and instagram are proof of what he's preaching....
    His endurance for the amount of weight he's pushing is insane. Police, firefighters and military are put into unpredictable situations in the real world all of the time.

    • @hunterginkins316
      @hunterginkins316 6 років тому

      Understandable, but this isn't real world strength, in the real world you won't have to do "30 reps of something", nor will you drop and do a pushup, then back up and press perfect dumbells... Explosiveness and strength are the 2 biggest carry over to the real world imo.

    • @pfl95
      @pfl95 6 років тому

      TBF military already do this. Especially special ops and better run units like the Royal Marines. You need to be a world class athlete in all categories to be able to react to real world situations. And they tell you how to train for that beforehand.

    Powerlifters are trained to lift a tremendouse amout of weight one time while not moving with it, strong man are trained to lift uncomfortable weights for a few seconds and moving it a few yards, Crossfiters are trained...for exactly this task that they are testing in this clip. so...

    • @hunterginkins316
      @hunterginkins316 6 років тому +4

      right. and real world is bullshit, when the fuck are you gonna have to drop down and do a pushup then jump up and press to dumbells with perfect handles up. . like, the hell?

    • @jlogan2228
      @jlogan2228 6 років тому +3

      Hunter Ginkins i can respect crossfitters for being athletes but im like you i wish theyd stop claiming all the "real world functional " crap.
      Ive never in my life been in a cenario that mimics crossfit. But on a daily basis have tasks that require things that are regular staples of stregnth training and strong man events.

    • @hunterginkins316
      @hunterginkins316 6 років тому +2

      Exactly. SOmeday you might need to deadlift a car off of someone, or push your car off the side of the road, not do a pushup, jump in the air then press a dumbell.

    • @jlogan2228
      @jlogan2228 6 років тому

      Hunter Ginkins not even deadlift a car off someone this weekend it was lift and carry a bunch of furniture up 3 flights of stairs, throwing massive chunks of tile and concrete into a dumpster for 10 hours, carrying bags of cement most of the day etc.
      All that matters in those moments is can you pick up the weight and can you move it. Burpees, sprints , all that jazz never comes i to play. I find alot of crossfit exercise sacrifices realistic functionality just to be "hard core" thats not a disrepect toward any of its coaches nor trainers as im sure they can probably out workout me anyday but the idea that these are the workouts that create real world stregnth is misleading.
      Dont.get me wrong i dont.neglect my cardio and condintioning bc i also like to do jujitsu.

    • @hunterginkins316
      @hunterginkins316 6 років тому

      Crossfit trains for (if training for the crossfit games) how many reps can you do? Crossfit isnt about functionality imo.

    Nsima was in some really funky positions during his fireman carries. Crossfit guy did a leisurely stroll with it.

      I think this guy just pulled a bunch of exercises out of a hat and slapped them together to do this. That's it. There's no rhyme or reason or purpose to this other than to thrash someone and see who's standing at the end.

      That's exactly what he said in the podcast though, the session was just to beat them down and see where their fitness is currently at. Hard to really implement your system within a day at most, anyway

      Christian K But then it's pointless to compare a crossfitter, strongman and powerlifter. Completely pointless. They're all very different skillsets with different goals and outcomes, and putting together a bunch of little bullshit exercises that "tests strength and endurance" proves nothing.

      +diesel828 if you listen to the beginning of the video, in my program I work 4 elements the exercises used in the training cover the elements. They are not random and put together.

      That's exactly what I thought! anyone that wrestled in high school and, especially, in college have a very good experience in this type of training. Not to mention often times you'd have to wrestle before and/or after lol

      +Lvcian Cruz hell yeah wrestlin ain't no joke. i know no sports that compare. maybe boxing and mma but i saw a boxer that was a wrestler say that he would take boxing any day because wrestling was hell

      Wrestling is the best training if you want to become a navy seal, it's best simulates it - the swimming part

      Ok but not at that bodyweight, not at the weight they are lifting, and not at that age. So you can can't compare on multiple levels.
