I'm the cyclist on the blue bike who dropped in for lunch last Sunday on my ride from Bugsworth basin. Was lovely to chat to you both in person, and the food was fab. Raspberry and almond cake was a real winner. I'll be back :)
Nothing has changed from the times you were on the canals before. You are experienced regarding everything to do with Holly or the Cafe. Have faith in yourself and trust in Holly. Remember the first day you opened and how nervous you were then? I do lol. Mark Alberta, Canada
Jo, you will be great running Holly solo. It's always scarey first time out but only gets better once you get grounded in the new routine. Relax, enjoy your customers, and before you know it everyone is having a really nice time. How can they not with the goodies your serving !? 😋
I just knew William would be a chatterbox, most kids his age are though. It is wonderful to hear him actually speaking not just baby mumbles. Terrific job on soloing the cafe for 2 days, superwoman at the helm.
I like the frog & shrimp & I see William does & loves animals, (& making up his little stories about them too)! - He's so cute, reminds me of my wee brother when we were both children). - William speech is great, he pronounces his words really well, (copying his good role models in his Mummy & Daddy)! - Well done on all fronts. 🎂
I've been binge watching your videos for the past 2 weeks from my caravan currently in Arizona, U.S. and thinking I may need a change in lifestyle because I do love the water and used to sail quite a bit off the CA coast. I miss it. Problem is there isn't too much opportunity for narrow boating in the U.S. Oh, well, maybe it's time for a change and moving to the U.K. We shall see. Today is the first day that I caught a current video from you and I was thriled. Jo, you did a GREAT job on your solo on Holly! I will be ordering your cookbook as soon as I have a mailing address to send it to. You are a beautiful family and I love your positive attitudes. See you next time!
Amazing Jo, all that on your own! You did an astonishing job and there were so many happy customers. You all seem happier back on the boat - if it’s what works for you then go for it!!
Jo all you have to remember is "Spring forward, fall back" so spring you loose an hours sleep, and autumn you gain an hours sleep :) Great to see you back in action baking those delicious cakes :)
We Want Admin 😉 I smiled all the way through that, thanks!! Jo you made that look easy 😀 Bet Vic missed the jovial banter. Wish you were a bit closer but on the other hand, wouldn't be able to resist the cake! Shrimp is a hard word to get your mouth round, especially at William's young age! What a little treasure 💜
It was lovely to finally have met you all. It was great to see William enjoying playing with the frog and shrimp, I could have made lots more things for him but you would have had a boat full of toys :) I made some little cakes last week and they were very wonky but they tasted delicious!
Oh Yum ! If only I could visit I’d so enjoy meeting your lovely family, I’d have Ginger cake, Raspberry Almond and Lemon Drizzle. So that’s Saturday, Sunday and one to go. It’s just a bit far from Vancouver Island a small village in the mountains. A 24 hr or more trip at my age is too much. I wait for you Vic and William to post your lovely videos, you feel like family ❤
Well done Jo, and Vic for looking after William. Looked like that was a great weekend. How we wish you were closer to us. Alĺ your cakes are amazing and must taste delicious. Love to you both and hugs for William.
I'd be so poor around Holly the Cafe boat, because I'd spend all my money on treats, starting with the Rice Krispy Treats! Then to anything with lemon flavoring! Good job keeping up with everything!
Jo you are super woman!!! I don't know how you did it all and always with a huge smile. I popped down for a hot chocolate with lime & coconut cake that weekend and it was delicious. Lots of love from the Scouser, lol x
We know all about balancing the boat when baking, anyway lovely to see you back on Holly, I hope we pass you at some point we now run a café boat, but do hot food as well as cake and drinks, it would be boring if we all served the same thing. Love you too and the boys Alex and Maria
I made the blueberry & lemon cake from your book, unfortunately the fruit sank even though I dusted them with flour but the cake was amazing so moist loved it, you did amazing on your own & I'm going to try the ginger cake next 😀🤗
Well Jo you should be so proud of yourself, you were amazing, the different cakes were yummy. It’s great to see you all back where you belong. Great vlog. Have great week love to William too 😊
Go Jo! us women are amazing! I've been in labour whilst finishing off wedding cakes lol my babies arrived early! I worked solo on a food van.Once you get in the groove it all falls into place! never doubt your ability! Some old school bakes never fail to please! I'm trading some of my knitting for an old school tray bake this week!
Hello Joanna and Victor. Joanna is a smooth solo operator; almost balletic. It's great to watch someone so passionate about what they do and enjoying it all so much. Good luck for the season ahead. Pete Glyde
What fun! When it comes to wonky cakes, don't you think that could be a selling point? Proof positive that it was baked on a narrowboat! I would actually seek out something like that. In fact, when I can travel again (probably next year), I will fly half-way around the planet, try to find you, just for the experience, and I will even ask for a wonky cake. 🤣 LOVE the shrimp, and William enunciates the word so perfectly!
Hi There Jo Vic and William , Hope you are all well , Great video , Well Done jo you did so well going solo , All your cakes look so so Tasty , And your rice crispy cakes sound Tasty too , i will try making those and i cant burn them LOL, What a Great Busy weekend you had , well thanks for sharing ,Take care All , Have a Nice weekend ,🍰🥮🥞👍👍👍
OMG you have just explained my rice crispy flap jacks - bare with me here... Melt mars bars and then mix in rice crispys, then layer on a baking tray and poor over melted chocolate - fridge.. hey presto! Whoop Whoop! ♥😂
I bloody love lemon drizzle cake.. I have two favourites, one from greenwich maritime cafe and another from the greenpeace cafe at glastonbury festival random lol) - Rasberry & Yoghurt Muffin (which was mind blowingly good and i've never had one since) and a Sponge cake.. but they said they had added into the mixture those fizzle and crack poppin candy stuff - so when it came out of oven, it had liquified and became these little fruit explosions in the cake. Waffle over! Thankyou for coming back guys this channel is awesome! xxx
We walked past on Good Friday on the Tow Path and could see there was action going on on board Holly, good to see it going well. We must get down on an opening day.
You did good guurrl! All that baking and seeing to customers. Well done! Its funny watching William because he was born around the same time that my granson was, I dont see him too often. Other than getting watsapp updates from my daughter, Im not aware of how he is growing. Watching William, Im thinking, I wonder if George is doing that now? I love that your all back on Zero. Hopefully our paths with cross one day. Georgina from nb Cordelia X
What a great video. Jo, I take my hat off to you for your baking skills and your energy to whiz through the weekend with such enthusiasm. It's nice to think that's you also enjoy the chat, my favourite watering holes are those where the chat is as good as the coffee and cakes . More power to your elbow! Best wishes to all three of you xxx
It’s really nice to see people do what they love, the passion is great to witness. I might come over from The Netherlands this summer to check out that Victoria sponge……
Working together running a company when you have children is not for the faint of heart, as all it takes is a sick child/no childcare to throw a big spanner in the works! My husband and I have been juggling it for 13 years, and while it is great when it’s quiet/normal, when it’s busy it’s very difficult to do! But Jo you made it look easy! And Vic and William did a great job of being your back up crew! Well done team! Wish I could pop down for a cuppa and a cake - maybe one day 🤞🏻
Ah Jo you're a hard worker--and a cheerful one too. I'm way too old to do the same, and now see that just watching you work tires me out! Well done on a successful weekend.
Hello from Narrowboat Endeavour moored opposite Zero. You now occupy my old mooring before I zipped off for the My Floating Home filming 📽️😊. It's nice to be passing through Bolly again

Good you have an excellent cook book to reference from, ha ha. Busy days for you solo but you sort of knew you could handle it and all the better for a relax and a cooked meal and a well aren't sleep. William is growing really fast now and I hope he is handling the move off camera.
So glad you got the weather, Jo! Vic, you are such a lucky man! I hope you know that. Jo is special; she can make everyone smile - well, I find myself smiling when she's on screen! William wins every time though... Wow, I love you guys! Rice Krispy cakes are probably forgotten now. I remember them with affection; I ate rather a lot. A fashion to come, no doubt!
I love fruit cake and it keeps too. However I would be doing bacon butties for the money with oven baked bacon and sausages no eggs though. Your little boy is cute as are you both.

You look so much happier back baking on the boat.....I think that's where you are meant to be.❤.
SO impressed with Jo's capabilities, talent, and energy. WOW.

Good to see you again. Well done on your solo weekend. William so cute with his frog and shrimp.💚
His language skills are brilliant for his age!
Wow, I'm in awe watching Jo do all that baking, filled with admiration by your solo performance... A pleasure to see.. Thank you 👏👏👏👏👏

Excellent! William is a star⭐!
Thanks Jo, the cakes were excellent and the sausage rolls on another level, definitely make more of them, see you soon !
Sausage Rolls, Jo show us you making them please, yummy!

This might be my favourite vlog, sorry Vic. you really are a delightful family.
What a lovely video - we came along the next weekend when Jo was also working solo - even more in awe of your efforts after watching this!
Ah, the energy of youth. Watching Jo work so hard made me want to take a nap. 😊
Also the Caffe made me want a good Late & a piece of that raspberry almond cake
