Also, I’ve seen your Iceland videos and your daughters’ natural hair is beautiful and what we all want when we try to bleach/dye ours! They are so lucky to have a father like you ❤
My kids are older too, I took them to the salon. SPLAT is a color that hairdressers in the USA won't try to take out, it's very difficult to remove apparently!
I finally decided I wanted to have colorful hair, but I didn't want to mess up all of my hair, so I had the back of my hair colored rainbow colors and it only showed when I put my hair up. It was fun to play with. After I got tired of it I decided to bleach my hair (which is dyed light brown but is probably salt and pepper at this point). I did a bleach bath so it wouldn't be too harsh. I used number 10 developer out of fear. I ended up with completely lovely pale blond hair. If I ever do it again, that's how I'll do it. Low volume developer and a good bleach bath. Seeing all these videos of people destroying their hair has made me proceed with extreme caution. AND I owe it all to these videos. Thanks Hair Buddha!
Splat is PURE direct dye. You have to be extremely careful using it. And to get it even and true to the box, you MUST use a color brush and take sections while using it. It's the type of dye I use when I go to a color. Splat also makes midnight colors that are meant to be used on unbleached hair, and they turn out beautifully when applied correctly. But I DO NOT recommend first time home dyers using the product.
My hair is this dark and I refuse to bleach my hair and I used a color purple demi purple on ends and you couldn't see it at all. There was a tin..but demi permanent is different then permanent.
When the 2nd girl pulled out the Splat, I screamed Nooo! Splat's direct dye pigments are industrial strength dyes and do not wash out! If you have one with a metallic sheen, that is permanent and can damage your hair with any bleaching or coloring afterwards. Stay away from Splat! I think she has the same kind I used that is meant for darker hair, she def didn't have enough for her long hair, maybe a lucky mistake. My experience below... I used a Splat midnight purple on my virgin brown hair about 5 years ago that was supposed to wash out after so many washes. I tried everything to get it out: super damaging things like the combos of Vit C, Dawn, baking soda, (do not try they all fry your hair!), Head & Shoulders shampoo frequently (does help fade color, but is drying), and my hairstylist did professional color remover treatments and even bleach. All that happened is it went from dark purple to dark pink, only coming out of my hair as it grows and I CUT it out!

That splatt hair die stains everything. The one she bought is for dark hair and usually works well. But in my experience sometimes natural hair won't take die, I had that problem when I first started dying. I use splatt and have ended up with red ears red hands and red scalp. It comes off eventually. The blue is the worst for staining the bathtub though. Especially if you shower because it splashes everywhere or your tub has water drain slowly and it sits in the tub for a while. It's best to rinse it as low as you can to the drain. Magic erasers work well for removing it from surfaces but wear gloves when using them because they to are toxic
"I don't sound like a hair dresser. I sound like an old dad" Not a bad thing. ♥ I think it's GOOD that you point things like this out... because while yes, wild colors ARE beautiful... so too is the natural. Some people pay LOTS of money to get that Natural Brown... Natural Golden blondes.... Natural Red (gorgeous!) .... because nature can only be mimicked. And usually the copy isn't as good as the original. If want wild colors... WIGS ... Extensions ... My daughter too ain't going to be having Pink hair dyed... That causes so much damage. Yes it's beautiful... but can get similar results with wig/extensions for similar price AND it lasts longer.
9:41 😵🤯nooo did she just say shower? Now it won't be only her hands that look like smurfs. But her entire body....oh and the poor towel. Where is the mom to rescue her from that?!🙈😩
lol I probably use the same color and but I also use Splat as the second girl. I recently have my hair bleached already so I didn’t use it and it came out great. I also recommend to have someone to help you and yes it will stain. I was also 15 years old when I started dying my hair and pledge to myself of not bleaching my own hair.
Any advice for coloring with semipermanent when hair is mid thigh? How should I section so my arms wont get so tired? I mean I usually do sections, first share hair to to parts, then two upper head parts and two lower parts for each side and open them phase by phase and take small sections of hair to spread the color on but it id very tiring and takes for too long time. I try to do it evenly on both sides so at least same area section is the same amount of time on each side.
I had a balayage done 2 years ago at first it was okay and I loved it but then once it started growing out and fading I realised I couldn’t afford to keep up the maintenance and my natural hair was also too dark for blonde which ended up really washing me out and making me self conscious , 2 years later and I’ve only got 2 inches of it left in my hair and it’s gone, cannot wait to have my fully natural colour back again I’ve genuinely missed it and never dying my hair again lmao 🤣
That 15yr old girl is so pretty, and her gorgeous brown natural colour with natural highlights... if I was her I'd slap some medium-dark brown dye over those blue patches at the top of her head and forget it ever happened. The dye will wear off her scalp in time.
I love it when Buddha says "It's special," 😂

Any advice for coloring with semipermanent when hair is mid thigh? How should I section so my arms wont get so tired? I mean I usually do sections, first share hair to to parts, then two upper head parts and two lower parts for each side and open them phase by phase and take small sections of hair to spread the color on but it id very tiring and takes for too long time. I try to do it evenly on both sides so at least same area section is the same amount of time on each side.
11:14 its basically blue spot in the middle of her hair. But ok, let the kids do their mistakes and have some fun

I absolutely love this guy and his feedback, but I am HYPNOTIZED by his forehead wrinkles. They are magical.
