- This is a day hike on the Buffalo Plateau in Yellowstone National Park. We saw a lot of wolves, one black bear and a lot of other wildlife on this hike. This was about a 12.5 mile hike. I really enjoy May because it is still cool and there are no mosquitoes.

Best 17 mins all week , thanks again Stan
That wolf call is just amazing
Well, THAT was special. Luck comes to those who are not only prepared, as you always are, but also present - one has to get out there and be patient and receptive to what unfolds. You are doing it the right way! Thank you.
WOW! The wolf howl was amazing. I've had a few behind camp at night howling up a storm, but never during the day. How amazing to catch it on camera. Thanks Stan!!
You respect nature & nature respects you ❤️🌍
I appreciate Mr. Mills’ eye for detail and aesthetics; the flowers, as well as the bears, and, most importantly, wilderness sounds, or minimum human dialogue.
I really enjoyed hearing the wolf howl and seeing them. It was also cool watching the bear walk down the trail!
An amazing day. Thank you for sharing 😊
Wolves make such beautiful noise.
Many thanks for sharing. Absolutely breathtaking...
Wonderful sound in the wild!
You spot so much wildlife with your eagle eyes! Curious how many others that YOU don’t see, but THEY see you!?!?!!! 😳😳😳 That is the Eeriest feeling to me. Thank you sharing, Stan. Mother Nature at her finest.
I always wonder how many cats and mountain lions spot me. I wonder how close I have been to them over the years and never saw them.
WOW Stan. That was amazing. I listened to the wolf howling two times. Wonderful filming. Keep doing what you are doing. No music, just the sounds of the wild. Kasey Sanda
Such a lonesome wail ! Makes me sad. That lighter wolf appeared to be injured. What a tough life. On the surface, it appears so peaceful and serene, but it is actually quite the opposite. The antlers and skulls are evidence of a very harsh reality . Amazing!
Beautiful capture Stan ! Must be great hiking at this time of the year ...cool and no mosquitoes 🦟
Have a great day

Thank you for sharing this with us!!
I just love your hikes and videos!!
That was amazing a lot of action. Nice spring day ! Loved the wolves and bear of course so much fun to see everything in this great video . Thank you Stan great job .
I enjoyed this hike too. I sat and watched a wolf for awhile. Each of us wondering about the other in loneliness surroundings.
I love all the wolves! My first time to see one in the wild was last September in Yellowstone. What a magical place!
7:22 love to see wolf and bison meet each other peacefully
I didn't want the video to end, it was so relaxing, but, still very exciting, thank you! 🤗🤗
Another good one Stan..... loved the wolf howling footage!
Mr. Mills, Thank you so much for bringing this to us!
We saw that same howling wolf (with the collar) the week before when my wife and I were there in Yellowstone. Love Yellowstone. Thanks for the wonderful video Stan
Excellent and as always, thanks for sharing.
Stan that was great. Love seeing the wolf's . This uplifted my spirits. On our last trip to YS I got a brief glimpse of a wolf.
Please forgive , but it's wolves. I'm probably wrong about it's. It's probably its.
Outstanding, Stan. I'll be volunteering in the Lamar Valley this year so I'll have ample opportunities to wander.
Awesome! Thank you for the time and effort
Marvellous.
What a lovely video.
Another great video Stan. Thank you.
One of your very best! 😎

Wow you really know your spots! Amazing
Very cool video of that wolf howling, Stan. Nicely done!
beautiful yellowstone
Thank you Stan! You just made my day plus I will get another one of your amazing experiences delivered directly to my house. Let's go then.....
Stan, This may be your best video. Thanks for your post. You inspire stealth around wildlife, video skills, and physical fitness.
Thank you again for another great one! I would much rather watch your videos than a movie. Addicted.😎
Thanks for another hike in Yellowstone Stan. We encountered a small black bear 2 years ago in close to that same location. It came up a draw and crossed the trail right in front of us. It stayed on the trail for approximately 100 feet or so before leaving the trail and disappearing in the woods. A very exciting moment for the three of us.
I saw the bear 🐻❤️ so sweet I love ur videos
Last Sunday, met a couple and asked if they had seen anything on hotel trailhead at Beaver Ponds.
Nope.
About a quarter mile saw an elk carcass and smelled Grizzly scat.
Called it in and did another trail.
All that in one hike! I guess the secret is to start early, which is too hard for me.
stan your absolutely the best at what you do,the wolf howling was great in broad day light, wow, iwatch all your videos ,great work.mike haii
Such a sorrowful howl!!! I can't help but think he either got kicked out of a pack or he is looking for another to join him. It sounded so lonesome though, it was almost difficult to listen to.
This one was jam packed with wildlife!!!! So very cool!!! Do you think you'll ever get the chance to film a hunt? Or do you purposely avoid the parts of the park with the high concentration of wolves? I know you're a bear lover and all but c'mon, you know it would be super fun to be able to film a pack out for food......
I thought the exact same thing about the howling sounding so sad😢
I've found that standing sideways is a non threatening posture (so that you are not facing animal head on) and can help the animal to feel, well - less distrusting ? - of the human being there.
Immense good wishes to you always Stan, you are marvelous !
Yes, I think so. But these wolves in Yellowstone see a lot of people. I don't think they really display the behavior that a real wild wolf should display. I have had them close to me playing with each other and wagging their tails.
@@StanMills Wow ! That's incredible !
Wolf sounds pretty spooky.
Awesome videos!!! New subscriber.
amazing video, refreshing from everything else on UA-cam
Thank you. It was an amazing hike. I plan on doing this off-trail hike again in about 2 weeks.
When you said “there he is” it was like Where’s Waldo! I couldn’t find him!
Thanks, Stan.......it's great to be on the trail with you (if only on UA-cam) again this year. I notice that Canon has updated the SX70. Have you tried it out? As Roy would say, "Happy Trails"!!
The wolves are my favorite animal in Yellowstone. Thank you so much for sharing such incredible footage.
good to see the wolves
you shud start making a wildlife movie
Great 17 minutes Stan. Does that first wolf have a tracking device on him or is it just me? I've fished Hells Roaring Creek. Nice work and many thanks!
Yep!! They try their best to keep tabs on the resident wolves, the sad part of it is that a big reason for those collars is to try and deter the Aholes who are bound and determined to finish the extermination they started almost a century ago. The ones you see without collars are usually the newbies that are a yearling and haven't been trapped and tagged yet.
Nice video, Like 272 and Bye from Italy :)
Great video. Just bought 2 new Bear Sprays. Saw the Grizzly that killed the elk in the Yellowstone River Last year near Canyon on Saturday. He's bigger now.
👍 😎
Yup
nothing like the howl of a wolf 🙂
The bear looked like a black bear to me. If so, it’s good to see they’re still around.
Stan I love all your videos but that lone wolf cut me to the bone
Beautiful film! You are so blessed to still have all the large predators in the landscape. Here in Scotland we only have the Golden Eagle left. I'm curious, is it permitted to remove the Buffalo skull you found, or the Elk rack? I'm presuming not but boy what a marvellous find!
Steven, No you cannot remove anything from the park. This include rocks and wildflowers also. Thank you.
I hope to be as good of an outdoorsman as you one day. Did you grow up in that area are move there as an adult?
Great video as always! Do you ever have bear trouble out in the back country or are they pretty good at keeping distances?
The wolf looks a little on the thin side. The gray one looks like it has a limp.
This is amazing. Have you ever hiked it in early July? Is the animal spotting similar? (Obviously I know a lot of it is luck but just curious if you've had any experiences later in the season).
July is still pretty good. It starts going down hill in August.
Do you know what pack those wolfs were associated with? Beautiful canines and camera work!
Hello Stan. Just came across your channel. Absolutely amazing videos. Live here in Idaho. Would love to do a hike/trip with you. Reach out if your interested. Keep up the great work!!
is this off trail ?
Beautiful video. What camera do you use on these hikes?
Just found the answer in your comments section.
Wonder how wolves get separated from their pack…
Are they cast away or just get lost? Seems to me their howling means they miss one or more individuals from the pack. It’s kind of sad to hear them howl.
Stan. Which hike is your favorite?
Any hike that I don’t see any noisy people. For me, I try to respect the animals in their home by being quite and not scaring or upsetting them. I try to keep everything calm and peaceful. Then all the amazing wildlife will be out there to see and enjoy. They don’t have to run and hide. So most every hike is great. Thanks for your comments.
What an incredible capture but I have to agree with Curt, bone chilling howl. Do you know why he was howling like that? Seemed sad in a way. I love your videos ❤️

😂🤙🔥
Do you ever get a little nervous when the wolves are watching you?
What type of leggings are you wearing?
Too bad he has that huge collar on him.
The bear just going for a little hike...friendly-like. One can hope, right? Just in case, have your spray ready. No offense meant, brother bear, but you have a short fuse and just looking at one of us today may push your button. The button that says: Kill'em!
What do you do if you meet a bear on the bridge all of a sudden Stan, love your vids , greetings from Ireland
Paul, I look ahead to make sure there is not one on the bridge. If I did meet one on the bridge I would immediately turn around and go the other way. But I do meet a lot of bears as you can see in my videos. The main thing is to keep me and the bear calm. Thanks for your comments. It is getting cold here and I suppose it is about the same right now in Ireland. Have a great day.
