    amazing, what is the trick to taking out a cylinder liner?

    awesome!! i know im late to the party when installing new liners do they have to be machined after installation to accommodate a new piston?

    • @bonmil7924
      @bonmil7924  Рік тому +1

      Yes they do. The OD of the liners come with an interference fit. Once installed the bore needs to be machined to OEM or for your piston size.

      @@bonmil7924 I have a kubota with a ticking sound I think a wrist pin and was wanting to just get a standard kit to change all 3 pistons rings and wrist pins so you think I could just leave the stock liners in and not have to replace them the engine don’t use oil or have issues only the ticking coming form rear cylinder and it’s not the rod bearings because I installed new ones and still has the ticking sound from that cylinder

      @@lazowelding Liners do not need replacement if measurements are within the required factory tolerance specifications. Size of liner bore will dictate piston and ring size.
      Could the ticking sound be from a bad injector?

      @@bonmil7924 the ticking or tapping noise was from a rod bearing that wore out and fell out of rear piston and we caught it as soon as noise started.once bearings got replaced it was more quiet but still has a ticking sound and we think because bearings were gone it was slapping piston wrist pin too and got sloppy because bearings are new but noise is still there just more quiet..we might swap injector and try that..

      @@lazowelding If you take the engine apart again it’s important to measure all parts to determine if they need replacing. Micrometers are your friends

    Does the block deck need to be machined after installing the new liners? Does the deck need machining even if within spec with straight edge and feeler gauges?

    • @bonmil7924
      @bonmil7924  6 місяців тому

      @tom6549
      The block deck does not need to be machined after liner installation. Liners should be flush with deck. If the deck is within flat tolerance then no machining is required.

    And you just happened to have a tank of liquid nitrogen in your garage? Where do you get that? I would think that dry ice would have close to the same affect and be much easier to get.

    • @bonmil7924

      Air Gas or local welding shop.

      @@bonmil7924 So at -100ºF would dry ice also work? With heating the block to +200º that would give you a 300º difference which makes a pretty large difference in a circumference.

      Dry ice was a test run with alcohol and it didn't work.
