I love seeing you point out specific models of cars to relate the color inspiration. I'd love to see more stuff like this in your scripts as art is always inspired by something and even if we don't have exactly the same influences adding to our appreciation of a product, it is nice to know what you, Scott, relate the product to artistically.
Thank you for actually being willing to call keyboards midrange. I feel like I constantly hear "oh no, 250 is pretty reasonable for a keyboard, that's entry level really" which is insane.
I'm only just getting into custom keyboards - would I be right in thinking the market has changed over the past few years? Like 100$ now gets you a great pre built now.
FR so many keyboards out there are better than what they're selling for $250 it's actually never worth it. Prebuilt budget keyboards are simply too good nowaways to be throwing away that kind of money for something that you may like just as much or better for $80
@@Keybored We do have to take into consideration that these are Chinese board designers who double as the manufacturers and can price their boards to still be profitable due to the high volume of sales. Independent designers who have to pay way more for manufacturing (in China), and have to split the profits with vendors couldn't dream to do the same. And they are also at the disadvantage of low MOQ on top of everything else. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good value proposition for the consumer, but they are also starting to hold a monopoly on anything other than the "high end" market.
@@_fatalruin referring to your explanation, I realized the value of "high-end" boards is not because of the quality but only because of its exclusivity (low MOQ)🤣. It's normal for luxury goods to be like that
Scott you’ve been tempting us with a Keybored keyboard for years, would love to see a board designed by you or even just a video discussing your personal preferences for a build / layout / feature set! Crazy what we’re seeing out of the midrange market now vs. even just a couple years ago!
How would you compare this against the zoom75tiga? They are both similarly priced(at least for me) and both are quite unique, which would you recommend?
Awesome keyboard with very good price. TBH I would not exchange my Evolv for it, but if they we both on the market now, I would have been really attracted by this lower front board height.
The "Loid Forger" color combo is definitely one of my favorites. I do wish this had a TOP mount insstead of the bottom though. This and the Zoom75 Tiga are pushing the midrange quality up a LOT.
Very nice color scheme. Reminds me of the difference between the Suit and Neo80. Like 80% there but factoring in the price, it has way more value. Nice work as always!
Solid boards. The design and materials have really become intriguing in combination with customization. I only have an objection lately regarding the grotesque, heavy and deep cases stuffed with sound dampening materials. It's annoying having to keep the wrists floating above the keys in order to easily reach the top row and side keys. I think the low profile cases and keycaps becoming mechanical is one pleasant turning into more comfortable typing without wrist rest. No more heavy metallic rectangular boxes.
Great video as always. I ordered the JRIS75 last year and missed the mark for me.... I just ordered the Neo 75 CU and I am very excited for this keyboard. Where did you purchase keyboard cable from?
My Neo80 has quickly risen to become one of my favorite boards. Snagging one of these is a no-brainer, for me! Copper bottom at this price-point is AMAZING!
How does this compare to the QK75n? For me the front height is huge and why I have almost every Neo board already... I love my QK75n but the front height is definitely higher than all the Neo boards. I just picked up an Evo80 last month, basically a Neo80 with RGB and been using it since but really like 75% more than TKL. I'm thinking that Navy/Brass would look great with GMK Blue Samurai and I think the early bird discount still applies so trying to decide this weekend... sigh... Qwertykeys is killing me with all the great boards this year, lol!
Neo, to me, is all about the elegant design. IMO elegance in design is what makes things timeless. It's why you can look at those old cars and they still look amazing. While most of the new design is geared more towards "modern" trends that are rather sharp, audacious, and ultimately become a short lived "trend". I would rather have the Neo over the Jelly every single time. The Jelly looks like a Mitsubishi. The Neo looks like an Aston Martin or 1960's Jaguar E-type. (or insert other extremely elegant cars). In my mind the major difference is about curvature over edginess. If you take time to really look at the design of the Neo there are a lot of subtle curves and softness incorporated in an otherwise aggressive design. There's a reason men find the female figure attractive...curvature.
The board looks great! But I'm very tired of reviewers looking at good value boards as an opportunity to dunk on luxury ones. Just because the value is getting better doesn't mean that we need to hate on the luxury boards like thethe Jelly. Why does anyone buy a luxury $3000 handbag, instead of a nice $500 one? Why do so many aspire to buy a Ferrari instead of a BWM? Sure, you can get nice things for good money. Thats not what luxury goods are about.
I won’t buy it because I’m shamed of having too many 75% keyboards but neo 65 is my favorite 65% by far and I believe it is good as described without having to pay a ton of money for it.
So i have a question ive always wanted a qk board but ive been looking and im thinking i get this board and the neo ergo, which do you think i should go with
I considered Neo Ergo but ended up ordering Neo75. The Neo Ergo is 60% and I realized I didn't want to adapt to that smaller layout. If you don't need F row and you're okay with losing either arrows or some modifiers, then maybe Neo Ergo's compact layout isn't as much of an issue for you!
@ thanks for the advice! I completely forgot the ergo was 60% so ill put that into consideration. I think ill just get the 75 cu and possibly the ergo with an external num pad or wait for another board. Thank you!
I'm new to the keyboard hobbie. I'm waiting for the lemokey p1 pro to come back in stock on the keychron website. I'm trying to move away from the "gamer tax" mainline brands and give other keyboards a try. One thing I find difficult is finding info on how all these custom keyboards and mainline keyboards compare to each other for gaming. Most of the reviews and posts online talk about how it feels to type on them and not really talk about their experiences with gaming. I've used a Corsair k70r for years now.
All of them are almost the same, only difference is delay and actuation point of the switch, u can take bridge75he which is a nice 100$ board with magnetic switches and nice polling rate.
Nice board, but WAY too high pitched clacking for me. It actually hurt my ears. Sensitivity to high pitched sounds has always been an issue for me with keyboards, but this one is just so sharp and loud, didn't like it at all. I like a much deeper sound personally. Would the PP tray and/or foam help with that, or is this just the pitch of this keyboard? Haven't built many keyboards, so really don't know. Right now using a Rainy75, hoping I got one of the ones that doesn't die in 3 months. Been keeping an eye open for one that sounds like this one, but less reviews talking about it no longer connecting to the PC, etc.
You can take zoom 75 tiga with poron, but if u want this one then you should take pp, all-foam, full nylon switches (quinn or oil king as suggestion), you can relube them with 205g2 to make them deeper, take brass as it is little more deeper, take dye-sub thick pbt keycaps (or ceramic if u can afford) that build will do everything to make the board deeper.
He was using only the CF plate with no foams for the sound test. I don’t know why the POM plate wasn’t included, but there are other videos by different creators showing different configs. If you want low pitch, use PP or POM plate with at least the plate switch. If you need to dampen the sound a bit more, you can add the case switch. There’s PE foam that can lower the pitch too, but it tends to make all switches sound the same (even more so than other foams). I have a Neo80 with several PCBs to experiment with different builds. PC, POM, and PP plates are the best for thock.
Green + Brass is the perfect colorway for this! Amazing job on showcasing this keyboard - I've never wanted a keyboard this bad!! Unfortunately it's out of my budget right now 🥲
@LizardsAreCool69 I know how affordable the said keyboard is based on how feature-packed is from the affordable price point, but they will always cite the material architecture of Neo65 being better than Lucky65 V2. Another problem is people still thinks the V2 sucks like its first iteration where they think the random disconnections and wireless capabilities are still back on V2. I just want someone popular in the Keyboard community to thoroughly review this objectively for the masses.
Pp plate + full nylon switches with 205g2 for extra thock (gateron quinn or oil king as thocky suggestion) + all foam + get brass as it has little less density (which i think is perfect with burgundy) or just get poron zoom 75 tiga lol, you are not for foamless here anyway. Also ceramic or thick dye-sub keycaps.
I love seeing you point out specific models of cars to relate the color inspiration. I'd love to see more stuff like this in your scripts as art is always inspired by something and even if we don't have exactly the same influences adding to our appreciation of a product, it is nice to know what you, Scott, relate the product to artistically.

Looks like getting so many boards with good designs for such "cheaper" prices are making people rethink about the 600+ ones lol
As they should lol.
Good
Yeah it's confusing now what makes a 600 dollar keyboard... Well unless you got something like the noland... That one makes sense

I have mine on the way now! That bottom mount has an extra sharpness to the sound to my ear.
For sure!

Definitely like loki
I'm gonna need to get one of these. I love my Neo 65 but the look of this and customization is slick.

This board's mounting reminds me a lot of the Matrix Corsa... 🤔
Bringing up that CU store brings back trauma of seeing them everywhere, even if I went to Busan or Donghae
I was happy for over a year with my keyboard. But this one is calling to me 😮
Hi, which would you prefer more, Zoom75 TIGA or Neo75 CU. TIA
Solid boards. The design and materials have really become intriguing in combination with customization. I only have an objection lately regarding the grotesque, heavy and deep cases stuffed with sound dampening materials.

Haha! I have the green Neo 80 with untamed on it, cf plate. I love it! Using plate foam and HMX canglang switches is a fantastic thock tbh
I’ve also got the green 80 but with gmk kaiju on it. Really solid board
Great video as always. I ordered the JRIS75 last year and missed the mark for me.... I just ordered the Neo 75 CU and I am very excited for this keyboard. Where did you purchase keyboard cable from?
I need this so i could it "Glorious Purpose" when I refer to it.
the green really looks incredible
I was shocked how good it looked
I bought a neo75cu. I’m excited about it.
I want to review a TKD 75/1 keyboard.
Done with raffles. Done with fomo in this hobby. Grabbed a black one.
you earned yourself a sub with that jag reference lol
btw what is your wrist rest?
I ordered black and copper....cant wait
My Neo80 has quickly risen to become one of my favorite boards. Snagging one of these is a no-brainer, for me! Copper bottom at this price-point is AMAZING!
This is a level up I feel VS the 80!
i'm currently looking at the green w/ copper bottom, what badge colour do you think would fit it? having a tough time deciding...

Would you take a look at the TKD Pt.1/75 next please? 🥰 It's a very good design board
The tri-mode is via compatible?? I didn't even know that was a thing. I figured you would need to use the QK config software.
Thank you for not putting foam in it!
You're welcome!
Been loving how youre doing foamless soundtests now
Yeah to give a feel of the raw keyboard
@Keybored like you said..maybe we are entering....*pause for dramatic effect*...the age of Cork
Hey Keybored! Which keyboard do you like better the Neo75 CU or the Zoom 75 Tiga?
Neo 75 all the way, not even close. If you really want a scroll wheel maybe wait for Luminkey 75 V2?
@midfidelity7180 yeah but I want an iso layout so zoom 75 is one of the few options
I'm torn up on colour choice, I already have a neo80 in green and a neo ergo in purple, should I get burgundy or cornflower?
Would you choose this over the Zoom 75 Tiga?

I believe the Bluetooth ones don't have the stainless weights

Not sure if I'm the only one here, but I think the Jelly is terrible. Relies too much on foam
No RGB 😭
HHKB. Done.
First, let's go!
First! Congrats!

What are the characteristics of a premium sound? Not countering your argument, just asking out of curiosity.
The jelly evolv is like $600+ 0_0 you're outta your gourd.
