I'm in love with the color of that room your in right now! So moody and rich! Just decadent!! I have burgundy sheets. Love them. Just like all the dark and moody. Oh, and of course, BLACK! Definitely BLACK!🖤🖤🖤
This colour I’d pass on in the home but for clothing, it’s quite lovely for your fall/winter season, our home is painted a very soft grey/white and can’t imagine painting our home different colours to suit the season and what’s on Trend. ❤❤
I love the color of the walls behind you. They are stunning easy to work with you can lighten it up and it goes with anything and it will not be outdated in the next 10 to 15 years.
I think burgundy is a beautiful color. My challenge is that, for me, it’s too much of a throw back to when burgundy and hunter green covered everything -including floral wallpaper borders and Chevy Suburbans. Everyone has that thing they can’t do because it reminds them of a certain era. Sadly, this is mine.
@@rachelturner8286 I completely understand this sentiment. I have things like that for sure. It is funny to me when I go to the thrift store with my teenage daughter and her friends. They seem to like a lot of the things from the 90’s that I can’t stand / am not ready to revisit.
Last Christmas I used burgundy instead of red and it was stunning. Everyone who came over fell in love with it.Ive been itching to bring it into our home. I have a Khaki color on my walls in the main rooms so maybe as my accent color or I love that traditional kitchen you showed with it on the cabinets or possibly a color drenched master bedroom? Yummy. Thank you for always bringing us new options.
I’ve been using burgundy in my home for over 25 years. As an accent in my living area and in two chairs in my bedroom. One of my favorite colors. Lovely episode.
Did I have this colour in the 90’s? Yes. Do I still love it and am I considering using it again? Yes!!! I think it is both timeless and it can be used in a fresh way. I think it is rich and beautiful.
I absolutely LOVE it. It is such a rich color that exudes refinement and class. I am moving next month and I cannot wait to find ways to incorporate it. I’m thinking right off the bat my guest bath off the main entrance. Maybe with wallpaper and accessories! Look forward to seeing more on how to use this color!
I had burgundy hair color for years. I love my coat in that color. It’s funny to hear you talk about red. You worked so hard to purge it from your space!
Not afraid of color it just will be outdated because it is already outdated! It is just a very bland outdated color. I wished I would never seen as being an interior designer.
I have always loved this color. Want it on my sofa, bed, finger nails, accessories and as an accent wall. Love it with the natural accents for decor and fashion. Yes, the Even Better Beige in the guest room with Rumors as an accent wall.
Been there, done that. When we moved into our house in 1996 we used this colour on the walls of our kitchen and dining room. We found we needed lights on nearly all day! I love the colour, but only as an accent now.
I did my north facing bathroom in a similar color and it feels so cozy when I’m in the tub. Makes wood and gold look angelic. Something otherworldly. I should do my ceiling in the same color for full womb-like effect 😂
For those of us who don’t have the budget to redo, would LOVE to see your paint and coordinating decor recommendations on “dated” granite and cabinet colors circa 2005 to 2015. I love how your use of neutrals calms everything down and pulls everything together 👍
I actually had this color as an accent wall in my home back in the 90's era. I will use Rumors in my home this fall (not just bc it's fall. I love it) as an accent color again. I also love the Even Better Beige for my living and dining rooms. I think the burgundy tone just pops lovely with a beige or taupe color. I do not like it at all with gray walls, etc. However, in your laundry room with the silver W & D I think it would work with a relaxed white cabinet color and burgundy walls. I would love to see that done. Thank you for bringing us these colors first that I've seen. Again, today your hair looks amazing! You go girl! ❤❤
Can't even believe this, I JUST painted my kitchen wall a deep burgundy. All my friends thought I was crazy. Brought my builder grade condo to lux feel. To see this video is wild.😂
I can definitely see loving a room done in this - in someone else's house. Personally, I do love the striking burgundy of Rumours, but maybe not for an entire room. Accent colours sure! A blanket or vase, maybe a pillow cover, absolutely. Heck, I'm currently considering that for my family room couch pillows; I have beige covers on most of the pillows, but for a couple that are summer covers, maybe my Autumn/Winter ones could be that rich burgundy!! I really love your suggestion of using khaki/tan to make it feel updated. I think another nice thing could be to pair that deep burgundy with some dark browns, light tans, and brass accents, for a decadent and modern yet earthy vibe.
Love this color! I would not use it on the walls since we are moving in a couple of years but I'll pull out my burgundy curtains and put them up, at least for the season. Also, this paint on a canvas could be fun, too. And I like the color story, especially the beiges and black/charcoal.
As I see in a lot of the comments I can not do this color in my house. I had it everywhere in the 90's. And at the time I loved it, like some of the people here in the comments do. I realized one day that it was dark and made me sad. I ripped everything that had that color in it out and never looked back. Nope, can't do a touch of it in the house no pillows, flowers nothing! BUT I like a touch of it in my clothes. Weird but true. 😂
Rumors isn’t a paint color I’d use but I would be open to trying wild truffle, even better beige or blank canvas. Appreciate this 2025 trends video!! 🙌
This has always been "my color" to wear and accessorize with, but I've only recently come around to it in interior design! I love it paired with marble and gold but I think less is more. I still prefer a more "neutral" palette. Thanks for this great overview!
I love this burgundy, it's very rich and romantic! I think when pairing it with other colors, color theory is very important. Grey would be beautiful if done right. Silver leans too blue, especially on appliances. Pewter however, would work great! Which I think is why you like it in your clothes. You showed an example of a darker grey with burgundy, which compliments each other. They're not fighting for the spotlight.
Absolutely love this color! Especially in fashion and accessories. I would definitely try it in flat finish on kitchen cabinets or fireplace ( all the way to the ceiling) but just as accent . I personally would avoid to painting the walls in burgundy….
Omg I thought about doing my bedroom in this color last winter & I just put it on the e back burner, but now I think I’m going to go with it & I had envisioned it with gold or kaki bedding
I still love burgundy! I had a home with burgundy, tans/golds for years. My bedroom was beautiful with those colors and custom cherry furniture. My living areas also had those same colors. I was sad when my burgundy silk drapes deteriorated due to sun damage. I searched for same color replacement without success. So I went to black, a little tan, a little gold in my front room, with a cherry barrister tri-bookcase. Someone is probably happy they found my burgundy bedding and bedroom burgundy curtains at a thrift store! I just recently donated them, after storing the items for many years. I'm looking forward to maybe seeing burgundy in your kitchen or office!
Could this be the new Brown? I love the color Brown in all shades. This color is so rich and beautiful I wonder if it would be as beautiful in lighter shades? Thanks for sharing it was yummy!😀❤from GA
I love Dulux Natural White (it barely absorbs the sunlight and never the red shed outside next to the house). I’m painting my kitchen cabinets in Dulux White Duck and it’s as close to that natural kitchen cabinet colour I see all over Pinterest in the really fancy upmarket kitchens like Studio McGee Hilltop. It’s gorgeous but is a different colour in my laundry which has less natural light and reads more light grey/green. Still awesome though.

Well FINALLY a color I love and would consider using! Rumors is amazing. What a great call. Love it. It just makes me happy to look at it. Such a feel-good color that's relaxing and invigorating at the same time. Perfection. I've used a similar color, no idea if it was this one but it looks about the same, in my homes before and loved it so much in a bathroom and on a living room wall and for accents. It's a great neutral as every color pretty much goes with it and you can take it in so many different directions depending on how you use it. You can go boho with oranges and teals and mustards, or dramatic with blacks and whites or rich greys, or light and fresh with a crisp white, beachy with crisp white and blue stripes, or rustic with old woods and tuscan vibes, even kinda Scandi as you show at 2:31 in the vid with the blonde woods, literally any style. You want some personality and style in your home, this is the perfect color for that. It's a happy happy color no matter what style you love. Red is my favorite color though and I have nearly every shade of it at some point in my house, every room has to have some sort of red in it. I wear mostly reds (down to peach, but not pink), black/grey/white and some teal generally as my main range of colors. When I'm stressed, I can just look at something red (any shade) and I feel better. lol
I painted my entire master bedroom this color in 2002 when I bought my first new build. Cant believe it’s BACK! My downstairs was really dark moody green which I believe is also back🤦🏼♀️
I stick with nature as my color palette. Bright colors only in small amounts. This is the opposite of my color wheel, it’d feel too much like Christmas. Psychology says red makes one anxious. In my artwork I don’t mind spots of red hiding in the orange.
Wow, I'm GENUINELY shocked!...not that a Burgundy red is the color of the year(I've been obsessed with really punchy reds for a minute now), and its been popular in fashion, and dark moody spaces have been a steadily growing trend over the last couple years...but I am GENUINELY SHOCKED to hear YOU say you might use it in your home! Something other than black, charcoal, grey, white and sometime beige😮
Hei igjen Valentina! Beautiful colour....for X-mas decor, lipstick, clothes, bag and gloves. But I think red colours in my kitchen would be a bit too much...I would have to make a lot of berry jam to be able to live with it. 😂
Talking about timing! I've had 2 rolls of vintage Ralph lauren wallpaper sitting in my storage room. This summer I decided to wallpaper the sides of my wardrobe with the wallpaper, it is light beige and.. wait for it... the pattern is in this burgundy color! Wow, I'm a trendsetter - who knew! Hahahaha! 😂 I remember as a young married couple in our first home, our kitchen walls were deep burgundy red. So, it goes back to the 90's 😉 Wow, I really like the burgundy and grey, like the outfit with the british tweed and burgundy woolen sweater. So classy, not boring at all!
Between beige and burgundy I’m reliving my youth of the 1980’s. An easy pass for me. May be very different for those of us that haven’t already lived through it. Lol
I liked it mixed into the plaid and could see it with lots of white. The color itself is too muted on it's own. I'd rather do a deep, saturated burgundy as an accent color. That would look rich with dark gray or white. Just something easily traded out when I get bored.😂
What is the dusty rose color on the picture-framed walls with the velvet chair, and Cracked Pepper fireplace? My butler’s pantry will be either Rumors or that one
A favorite dress of mine was this exact color. I sadly parted with it recently when I faced the fact that I'd probably never fit back into it. ☹ The color will appear in my life again only on my person, as I can't see it in my home. It's in my personal color palette as an "autumn", however, and I love wearing it in the fall, my favorite season! Valentina, please let us know when you find a nail polish in the right shade! I don't have a good track record of choosing colors online, which is how I do the majority of my shopping. The algorithms are bizarre because, no joke, the video that automatically started playing after yours was of a crime story, and the interrogation room was painted the exact color of Rumors. 😂 Oh, one more thing...have to mention my university colors are crimson and gray, so my eyes light up when I see gray with burgundy/maroon/crimson! 😁
I hate it!! I grew up in the 80’s and it was all the rage in homes. I’ve hated it my entire adult life l🤦🏼♀️😂 I could definitely do a brick red but nothing burgundy-ish.
I love the color. This is pretty in paint and clothes. It took 20+ years for this color to come back around. I used it as trim color in the early 2000s.
I like this colour on kitchen cabinets in period homes with marble splashbacks. However it's a winter colour for me and as someone who can get bored easily by trends I would not use the colour in my flat but appreciate it in other peoples homes particularly if they are Georgian or Victorian houses with high ceilings.
I'm in love with the color of that room your in right now! So moody and rich! Just decadent!! I have burgundy sheets. Love them. Just like all the dark and moody. Oh, and of course, BLACK! Definitely BLACK!🖤🖤🖤

Oh, one more thing...have to mention my university colors are crimson and gray, so my eyes light up when I see gray with burgundy/maroon/crimson! 😁
That is crazy about the interrogation room, strange! I’ll let you know when I find the polish color for this trend.
@@HouseofValentina Thanks! Can't wait! ❤
Red and gray together reminds me of Circuit City. It was bad back then.
@HouseOfValentina Just an FYI: You call it BENJAMIN MOORE Color of the Year as you introduce it.
OMG love this color. Please help I do not love the dark blue trim around my windows.
It's unfortunate to see so many people hating on this color. The examples she chose look incredible.
Beautiful colour but imma skip this one 😂👍🏾
I hate it!! I grew up in the 80’s and it was all the rage in homes. I’ve hated it my entire adult life l🤦🏼♀️😂
I could definitely do a brick red but nothing burgundy-ish.
Remember the burgundy bathroom suites of the 80's?it was vile. took decades to get rid of the suite. hated it
I would wear it as a Track Jacket or Tee Shirt, but absolutely not in my house. 🤢
Me neither, clothes, shoes, purses, nails but that’s about it for me.
