- Alternate wail for Hurricane Irene.
Video taken in Manasquan NJ.
NOT SIREN HEAD. NOT CHICAGO...MANASQUAN NJ!
This makes for a great ringtone too :P
this video doesn't make it sound as creepy because it's from up close. when the sound is ambience from far away, it's creepy af
Still creepy af
Yes like in Chicago
This siren also has several tones it can do. This is just one of them. Chicago and this town used the creepiest setting
Chicago turned it back to normal now it’s a wail now not a alternate
no it isn't it's cool
"the only siren designed to make tornadoes uncomfortable and leave"
lolollolopopoplolololololopooplolo.
This tone is for hurricanes not tornados. They were sounding this for a real hurricane coming.
Hi Wassup in Chicago this is Tornado
@@hiwassup6062 evidently you havnt heard about Chicago
they aren’t scary they are for alerts of weather
Would be cool if the Emergency Alert System operations would still use 640 and 1240 for any major alerts like Hurricane, Tsunami, Tornado, Nuclear Attack, Your Mom wants you to go to your room, ETC
Didn't Civil Defense only use 640 and 1240 and LMAO 😂😂😂
One question the ultimate will repeated itself again it didn't finish that cycle like I did earlier it kind of paused
Better than the ERRRRRRR sound that makes me shit my pants
ruffruff27 AJ they can’t change that one though, it’s encoded data
That was Conelrad during cold war
Chicagos siren was never broken, it was just a modulator doing an alternate wail the whole time
yeah
Yessir! 🙌🔥
ive seen that siren video before
EWOS 612 I believe
they're tones
It would be scary hearing this while casually walking down the street.
Xavier Savedra ya
Xavier Savedra at night, than noticing you are the only one around, seeing movement, than hearing something rushing at you just to finally realize. The siren isn’t coming from the town sirens, But behind you.
Siren head
heard of Siren Head
@Menno Van der weide What?
Voice: This is a hurricane warning. Tune your AM radio to 1620.
ok so that happens somewhere in callifornia or i don't know.
The guy sounds like a radio show announcer
Doesn't sound like it's saying that wish it was more clear
Yeah 😂
Thats what he said
This particular tone (Alternate Wail) is used to warn the public for incoming hurricanes, flood, moon tides, evacuations..etc.
The modulators in Manasquan NJ use a different tone for first aid/fire..same siren.
What if the hurricane and a fire both happen at the same time? 🤔
that comment is from 7 years ago

Won't forget the day they tested one of these after midnight. The whole town practically shit themselves, the neighbors even took off!
Why did they test in the middle of the night?
sounds like a dying police car in GTA5
@Freddy Fazbear Found you again Freddy...
Yes, yes you do.
@Freddy Fazbear hi! I did not expect to see you here! Did you like this siren?
@Freddy Fazbear i like this siren and this signal is so cool!
:v
This is freaking my dog out, right now. Slightly unnerving- like something out of a Zombie movie or Stephen King novel.
I don’t blame ya dog
Blud just caused every 5-8 years old horror enthusiasts shit themselves within a 10 mile radius
I don’t think little kids would be horror enthusiasts, they’d have nightmares for weeks. I honestly think people aged their early 20s would
In Chicago the alternate wail siren is the Modulator
+Stephanie Ralph In one Chicago siren video you can actually see the modulator in the background of the video
False Chicago uses thunderbolts modulators and 2001s. Chicago doesn't use the Eows sirens because they are against city noise reguations, mounting regulations, and height regulations.
+iamdxpe cartoons (dxpe creations) nope just modulators
+SixR I think Chicago uses EOWS sirens in the suburbs.
Giovanny Plascencia no because of the height regulations
2011: It's Hurricane Irene, everyone take cover!
2020: It's Siren Head, everyone get the guns!
fucking siren kiddie
@@lisirenprod1003 he is talking about how dumb siren head kid fans are
@@FA50PH It's a joke thing
Like a gun would do anything to it..
@SCP_6790 well, its worth a shot ain't it
I have never heard a more horrid sounding modulator in my life
We use the normal wail here in Washington. Unfortunately where I live in Seattle we don't have any. We have old fashioned Chrysler Bells but they don't work. The one closet to me was actually refurbished to a nice lookin state. But if you want sirens they dot the coast and Rainer Mountain Range.
Alpha_raccoon _ move to Chicago
I live in washington I dont feel like moving there
In Ohio there is no Federal Signal Modulater
@@trevormacewan Hello, future me! I just happen to stubble on this comment again... I was retarded because at that point I was just getting back into Sirens again and I knew very little. I know a lot now and I have to say I've heard many modulators test on the North coast and this is normal sounding for the Alternate Wail Tone
Cash, Don't forget that other counties uses Alternate wail for different things. Like In Chicago, They used Alternate wail from a Modulator for a Tornado warning in 2006.
It is Manasquan, NJ's information radio station. Eg NOAA warnings, flood warnings, hurricane warnings, traffic advisory's, events, etc.
its sounds like the broken sirens on police cars in GTA 5
It really does. 😂
Nah sounds more like siren head
@@Uncertified_Legend Shut up.
@@Uncertified_Legend Siren head does not make that noise as people just edited for it, This modulator still runs the same sound card as the one in chicago. which as a Thunderbolt Modulator.
Andie Kennedy federal signal*
The only siren that would actually make me scared af.
It's not as scary as a 3 port german siren or a Super Sirex
Cooooll! I love mods and EOWS sirens and I am happy that there are some in NJ! I like 10 minutes away from where this vid was taken. Along the beach there are many of these. In red bank there is an EOWS 612 with an MC controller. As well as n Eaton town there are two EOWS 612's. there are many mods by me and the beach as well!
Tornado: Im gonna destroy this city!
Siren: *starts playing*
Tornado: undestandeble have a nice day
This is horrifying, the wail, of course, but also the fact that the rest of the town is quiet...
Like a ghost town...
it sounds sick
Pro Viper it's supposed to sound like that.
Pro Viper Modulators, EOWS, ThunderBolt 1003, 3t22, and other sirens have the capability of doing alternating wail.
ITS NOT DUMMY V PROOF V
@@wilmaabuan8572 very sophisticated comment right there...
Menno Van der weide no
finally a video showing what the siren looks like
Is it saying, "Tune your AM radio, to 1620. Warning."?
Yes it is
SixR That's weird, because we have an AM channel here in Texas, 1620. Something like WTAW.
That's weird
+SixR But it isn't a weather-related station.
+Quentin “Mod” Richards maybe in your city though
I like the modulator alternate wail a lot better than the EOWS 115/Siratone alternate wail.
@eows812sirenproductions4 yes
@eows812sirenproductions4 To be honest, I am not the biggest fan of EOWS, I like the sounds of the MC controller a lot more than Siratone. I feel like Siratone's alternating wail is rushed, I am thinking of a T-Bolt 1003 doing the same and I would still prefer the MC controller.
EOWS sounds better with an MC controller
The siratone wail sounds very similar to a 1003.
@@Bloxer The Siratone Dual tone windup for Alert sounded MUCH better than the fast wind up wail for UV controllers. UV controllers windup and wind downs sound so rushed, doesn't give you the same feeling as a Siratone controller when winding up.
@@mattstrap9422 yes i 100% agree with you, siratone controllers sound much better.
imagine being the poor bastard who lives under that thing
Thanks a lot for the video. Be ready for the Hurricane.
Hey, Irene, how’s it goin’?
Irene: Heeheehee, guess it’s time to destroy Swansea once and for all!
Tornado (my voice) Oh no you don’t! Your name is pretty, but don’t destroy where Flora was born.
banger. wish i could listen to this forever
Yeah having this for a ringtone just imagine someone call you up in the middle of the night you just woke up from a nightmare
2:25 anyone else hear an echo here?
This sounds creepy from far away probably
i used to live in manasquan and i remember hearing this while at the beach and freaking out because i never understood what it was for
This sound is actually terrifying.
NJ Transit Train NJCL Jersey Shore leaves Manasquan NJ while Siren is going Off 3:21
I never found this tone creepy, I always found the dual tone Siratone and MCP alert tones creepy, especially from far away, the high and low pitch perfectly mix to give this ominous feeling.
Have you ever head a 7/10 Port Super Sirex? Even from up close, their tone is spine-chlling.
Welcome to Chicago where they had a 8 year tornado warning when the sirens sound like these in Chicago in the warning there was two sirens going off the modulator went off after the first one went off
And in the Day After Sirens went off and the Nuke went off and people got vaporized.
+Joanne Sproston 8 YEARS?????
oh lord
The thing looks like an omen of doom, let alone the sound it makes
Come visit Fostoria Ohio.
Our sirens are more heart attack fuel
The darn thunderbolt
This siren is known for being used by the Chicago area for a tornado siren
Actually, I though this is an test, But no. It's an alarm for 2011 Hurricane Irene.
My favorite Modulator tone... in my upcoming film (currently delayed by severe tech issues) Alternate Wail is used when signaling, "Get inside and hide, the demons are coming".
Wait, did I hear a glitch at 0:55?
@@LunarFlareStudios yes you did hear a glitch. Sorry it took 2 years for someone to answer your question.
@@ZerOrbit_ All's well and okay! At least it got answered!
me when someone slightly raises their voice at me
That sounds creepier than that Chicago one
toto, i think we’re not in chicago anymore
Tornado: "haha i'm about to destroy the city"
Siren: WEEE WOOOOO WEEE WOOO
Tornado: Understandable have a nice day
do all sirens of this design have this sound? because theres some of this design at Pilgrim Nuclear Plant
I love this siren
Nice recording. I don't see many close recordings of modulators in alternate wail. Whats with the random re-wind up that happened at 0:56? Did they send the activation signal twice.
I think this is the creepiest siren sound I heard yet.
It sounds just like the chicago tornado siren.
@@s3xyv4mpire because its the tone of the siren and the siren.
@@s3xyv4mpire because it is
Any chance you have a clip of the ones they use for fire/ems?
I have a severe phobia of sirens because they sound scary.
Sorry Angelica
The siren cuts a bit like at 3:01. It will try to wind up but cut and wind up again. Something is wrong with it. Like alternate whoop or smth?
I work in Point beach and often hear sirens like this, but I never hear voice transitions. I thought they are from Brielle township.
Chicago uses these too. I think it sounds cool.
I think they use EOWS 612(I think it is spelled like that) but I don't live there so.. idrk.
Edit: they use both.
I drove by a few of these going from Asbury to Brick a few months back. Would you happen to know if they ever do tests, or are they activated for emergencies only? Thanks so much 🙂
its drunk
Go home siren, your drunk
sound
Yes it’s drunk freaking lol
Its a bla-bla modulator siren doing alternate wail
It is borracho
Cash, I am going to use the wind up to make a alternate whoop. Ok with you?
ShadowStalker What's an alternate Whoop? Never heard about it...
Badischer Heuler well,hi-lo on whoop
That would just sound weird.
This siren i do like but the sound gives me the chills AF
I hear this noise when i go into the forest i always just thought it was a test but it just never ends...

Music to my ears
@Birds1337 hey! The sirens are awesome in Stl county! I heard them for the warning on 5/31/13! The voice message was very clear and the siren sounded in alert for 3 minuets
Same with Wildwood Nj North Wildwood and Wildwood Crest Nj it's totally a Ghost town where it comes to Creepy scary Sirens in South Jersey by the Atlantic Ocean
Yes!, i have this for my ringtone, and forgot to turn it off while doing some transactions at the bank a few years ago, needless to say, it was definitely an attention getter, and other customers thought "Siren Head" was coming for them! 🔈🔉🔊🔉🔈🤔❓🤣🤣🤣🤣😨😱❗
This is like some end of the world type stuff. It gives me the chills. So creepy!

Federal Signal modulator warns people better with that type of tone it sounds like a high low tone but it's a whale tone
@NickAlonzoRules Hey, I grew up on Philips Road (which is right in the Saratoga Battlefield) and I used to visit that fire department often as a kid. Do you know what siren was there before the Mod took its place?
I have a map on Google maps marking a ton of sirens around upstate NY if you're interested in seeing it.
Sounds like the quietest siren I ever heard
They’re much louder than you think.
@@ModulatorTornadoSiren I bet you are
Sirens can be loud at 100dB to 145dB in 1 mile the loudness is 65dB
These are not like ATI’s these are WAY better and louder than those!
Sounds like a Federal Signal siren from the EOWS series
1:12 Stumble
arca's siren interlude was probably taken by this vid
What is this siren used for?
@ricofojas2011 yes it's a real voice. It's not a live voice...it's pre recorded.
Just wait till it stands up and runs at you
It's because Chicago uses these sirens.
0:17 siren starts
Normal kids be like: SIren head we are going to die!!!
Average Kids be like: Alternate wail
The eow federal signal is kind of quiet cuz in fact the federal signal is I mean the one in my school is louder than the eow
you can hear another siren at 1:31
that was the same siren its echoing through the town
@NickAlonzoRules Which specific fire department do you go to? I want to mark it on Google maps, but the only siren I can find in mechanicville is a Model 2.

How would I know to tune my radio to 1620 when the voice is so crackly
I hear a jump in it. It went from low to high. The right in the middle of it it jumps back into low. A glitch in the system.
