I find it hard to believe this is the same team that won the last Euros and silver at the last World Cup. What on earth is going on with that defense? Sarina needs to make some adjustments to these lineups
If you ask me, most other nations have caught up with them, some probably surpassed them. Most coaches have worked out Wiegman and her tactics so they adjust accordingly. She seems to have her favourites in the squad who probably are getting past their best days now & not worthy of a starting XI spot. The women’s game has changed quite significantly in even two years since the Euros.
I think a lot of teams are going to struggle against Germany next year if this is how they play. No wonder our defense was under pressure. I would like to have seen Gabby George at LB but she probably hasn't played enough games for MU yet

One of each penalty on both sides too much. The weaknees in both teams is the defense. There is some room for improvements.
Thank God England didn't even get a draw in this match. They were horrible. Playing like this is such a waste of talent and not a good sign for things to come.

Moving the english back line across to cover leaves the whole of the left side wide open with a cross field pass as per the second German goal. Those who dont play in the english league play a different style. Walsh faces her own goal in possession far too much. I used to admire the womens team, they are now picked by name not form.

The 1:0 penalty was a clear penalty. If not, there will be no penalties in the future anymore. The penalty against Gwinn, fingertips, was no penalty. The penalty against Russo was no penalty, only a simple clash.
Goals 2 and three, fullbacks disappear. Bronze still thinks she's playing for Barcelona and learned nothing from giving the goal way in the last final by chasing upfield. Greenwood missed - a couple of defenders looking past it. The German keeper's a bloke.
Jess Carter doesn't like to play LB, she's right-footed and prefers RB. Not that I am blaming her but if you know there are defensive weaknesses you are going to run at them.

That offsides that was called towards the end of the game on England was not offside. If you look at where the Germany defender on the far side was at the England player was actually onside.
The second german penalty should not have been given because stanway's leg was kicked by the German soccer player in the second half of England and Germany's soccer game. And the first penalty should not have been penalty because there was not much contact between Georgia stanway and the ball in the penalty area in the first half of England vs Germany soccer game

At Olympics Emma Hayes was smarter with rotations & early substitutions. This was the key to win.
