I'm frying my first turkey (have never even cooked a turkey) this year so bought the Masterbuilt fryer as that was what my husband wanted. Thank you for showing how to do this. Now I feel more comfortable doing this since you gave us step by step how to do it.
This was an awesome video. Thank you so much for this video… quick question, can I fry two turkeys with the same oil? Or do I have to change the oil every time I fry another turkey? And how would you change it if it’s hot..thanks
Great video! I have been doing this about 10 years now, and just retired my first fryer and bought a new one this year. Only thing I do different is I use the marinade to coat the turkey before seasoning instead of butter. I have the smaller fryer, but I do 15 pounds with no problem!
Thank you, yes I actually did that this year and poured a little inside the bird. I Didn't really see a big difference the bird was just as awesome...Thank you so much for watching 💕
Thank you and and so glad I found your video. I’ve had one of these fryers for a while and haven’t used it. Actually I was scared to use it after hearing horror stories. I’m going to give this a try. I gained some confidence watching this video.
Waiting on my fryer to arrive, and I’ve got a frozen 18lb bird waiting for the fryer. I heard a deep fried Turkey with a good season injection was the best. Yet I was worried as I have no idea what to do. You came through! Relieved me of all my worries! Thank you!
Update: ours turned out amazing thank you!! We may use a little less seasoning on the turkey next time, some parts were super salty. BUT AMAZING! We have a this fryer, and doing this exact method right now! 14 lbs prepared and ready to go! Waiting for the fryer to warm up and down the turkey goes. I’m so excited! Thank you!
Thanks for the lesson. Just got one the other day for my birthday. Never fried a turkey before but I'm gonna do it. Yours looks lovely. I'm ready to bite my phone. Lol.

I bought this exact fryer and I will be using it for my first fried turkey for Thanksgiving. I filled it with water yesterday and submerged the bird while still in plastic. That way I know exactly how much oil to use to cook evenly. I'm excited! 🤗
Great job. I also just upgraded to the XL Masterbuilt fryer. Been frying turkeys for years, but used the smaller fryer. You forgot to mention that you want to cook at 4 minutes per pound.
thank you so much for this video, I have a turkey fryer but bought this one and the video was much needed as I will be attempting this alone this time.
😂😂 OMG your right 😂😂.. just used this seasoning for the first time today prep my turkey.. me and my mom and sister watching me work on the turkey.. we were all Sneezing over and over again. 😂😂
I actually shifted to this one, after _almost_ buying an outdoor, gas-powered fryer. This one seems more practical, as I can fry other things.. Doughnuts and whatnot.
I might have to try the regular old vegetable oil. I always use the peanut oil since I started cooking them in 1995. I make my own injection with 1000 Island salad dressing & Tony's C Cajun seasoning
I just ordered 1 from Amazon. Last year I ordered the Charbroiler Oilless Big Easy, which I was greatly satisfied w/. But I think it's much crisper using oil, & from what I seen & heard, this unit seems like it make turkey frying much easier & safer than using propane. Hopefully it, come before Thanksgiving, if not, I'll have it by Christmas.
I was so tempted to get an oiless one this year, but I figured, if it ain't broke don't fix it, plus I have way to many gadgets..It is very safe. I was skeptical frying in the kitchen but the fryers design keeps grease from flying all in the air, you will be pleased. ENJOY and thank you for watching 💜...
@@cookingwithmzmagictv I was thinking bout using it on my patio, just because I don't want the grease to smell up my house or stain my walls or anything.
@@cookingwithmzmagictv The fryer did come, I've already fried 2 turkeys, that thing is the truth!! Compared to the Big Easy, it cuts the cooking time in half!!

@cookingwithmzmagictv thank you soon much, going to get one next week before thanksgiving. I always baked a turkey, but nevered fried one lol. Happy Holidays to you and your Family!
Hi, I filter the oil back into the original containers, after it is cool, I use the same oil to Fry Turkeys for Christmas, used oil is usually good for 2 months, then I freeze it and throw it away..Thank you so much for watching
From what I learned, if using peanut oil, u can fry up to 8 turkeys w/the same oil. Being it has a high smoke point, however, some may be allergic to peanut oil, but you should definitely filter it if reusing.
I fry turkey's in the same machine, although mine is branded by Butterball. I was wondering how do you keep the turkey hot and crispy for your customers? And do they supply the turkey or do you?
Hi, I supply the Turkeys during Thanksgiving because they are less expensive..I treat pick up like an assembly line, when clients Turkey is done they are here to pick up their Turkeys, lining the pan with paper towels so the Turkey stays crisp. I tell them to try to keep Turkey in a warm oven before serving. Thank you for watching 💜...
Awesome video thank you thought it was awesome when you cut you a piece I can not cook anything without getting me some when carving. My question is was your overall cook time 77 minutes? You stated 4 minutes per pound then said it needed 5 more minutes at 375 did that do the trick or did it actually need more than 5? Appreciate you and the video
Hi, yes the 5 more minutes did the trick. I was used to my old fryer, that went to 400°, it probably was done but I wanted to be sure...Thank you for watching 💜...
Any tips for maintaining the oil temp throughout the entire cook time, I have this same exact fryer and have fried a couple turkeys the problem I have is that once I put the turkey into the oil the oil temp goes down from 375 to about 265 and stays at around 260 for the entire cook time resulting in soggy skin instead of crisp skin. Turkey still gets done but would like crispy skin. Any tips for this?
Turkey must be at room temperature before dropping in oil , I'm talking about 2 three hours on the counter before cooking, also pat the bird completely dry after injecting, hope this helps
I just bought a Masterbuilt. About to try for first time. How many minutes per pound please? Or is there another way to know when ready? My confidence is high. Appreciate you sharing my sister. Happy Holidays!
