    I'm so happy to hear that Koreans are supporting Chef Edward. He’s openly shared how he struggled with feeling connected to his Korean heritage and wanted to rediscover his roots. He even joked about his Korean language skills, saying they were as good as a 'drunk third grader,' yet nobody mocked him-they accepted him just as he is. It’s incredibly rare for someone not born and raised in their motherland to later seek such a deep connection with their cultural heritage. It takes courage, and it’s heartwarming to see that his efforts are being embraced. Thank you to all Koreans willing to open up the gate and accept Chef Edward!

      Exactly. Now I wonder, what if Mafia was also in the Tofu challenge....That intense hell should have been the real finale.

    • @holohulolo
      @holohulolo 27 днів тому +3

      @@kalli865 Yeah but honestly, after watching a few videos of Edward I realise you know he really isn't there to win, he was there to introduce himself to Korea and reconnect with hiss heritage. It was clear, if he treated it as a competition to win, the way that Matfia did, Edward would've won 100%, there's just no doubt about it. The entire time I was watching the show, I keep thinking everyone is talking about their dishes like they created something unique and new, but something about Edward makes me feel he was genuine about that and that he was truly experimenting and trying to create new dishes with new inspirations. I mean we don't really know how true it is watching the show, but in one podcast he mentioned that when he decided to go on the show, he knew he wasn't going there to make dishes he's made in the past 30 years of his cooking career.
      Because that's kind of the loop hole in these cooking shows, is when chefs cooks dishes they've thought of and refined and practiced before they came on the show. I'm willing to bet some of the contestant went in with 1 super recipe they are saving for the finals or something like that. The infinite tofu hell will eliminate contestants like these. I mean unless you happen to get through all the rounds being 2nd to last and not get eliminated, and cook your best dish in the final round which happens to be slightly better than the other guy. But unlikely. that challenge is such a fresh concept, it will exhaust any strategy you have and really force you to rely on your knowledge, skill and experience as a chef. Triple star was actually solid, as far as this shows go, he would've been a better challenge for Matfia. But I'm sure they had no chance of winning if Edward really needed to win as badly as them.
      But Edward had nothing to prove, and most likely didn't really need that money either. He was there competing with himself, even though it would still mean a lot to him if he won. The infinite tofu hell is seriously one of the most difficult challenge in any cooking shows I've ever seen, the only way to make it difficult aside form the ingredient, is to have the chef go up against more skilled chef. Imagine like an iron chef tofu challenge. The first 2 minutes of that infinite tofu hell, I was wondering how odd is it to eliminate so many contestant in a single episode. I thought they were making up for all the time they wasted adding too much drama in the first few episode and dragging a single challenge into 2 episodes. But it's actually such a fair challenge to eliminate so many contestants. I think it actually would've been better if they just select the winner like that. Have the 10 or even 15 do the infinite hell challenge, and have them do it 3x, score every single dish they do, and add it all up and select the winner. If 15 is too much tasting for the judge, than eliminate maybe 2 each round so the number of rounds is less. It could be the premise of an entire show. Say start with 40, each round eliminates 4-5 maybe, then when they reach top 5 do the challenge 3x, each with a different ingredient. I think they were hoping for that for the finals, but the only way it happens was if the vote isn't unanimous, but they should really at least score 3 different dishes for the finals. 1 dish is just ridiculous. The show was a little cringe at the beginning, the ending was disappointing. They really should change it and just do the infinite hell th entire show.

    Dear Chef Edward, I got to know about you thru Korean cooking show “the culinary class wars.” The show was unfair in so many levels 😢 and I watched it only for you 😊 Your intelligence and innovative approach to cooking were nothing short of extraordinary. You not only showcased incredible skills but also humility that resonates with so many. Your humility and dedication to your craft are incredibly inspiring. You have a unique ability to connect with your audience while pushing the boundaries of culinary arts. You truly deserved to win, and I can't wait to see what you do next!❤❤

      I think Edward should have won. Not because he was a white shirt or whatever but the way he was able to make so many amazing creative dishes just out of tofu was extremely amazing. His last plate was so creative too. I'm no chef but I would have voted for him overall in creativity and presentation, and if I was able to taste it....he would have won in taste as well.

      The show is indeed unfair in so many levels..there were a few really talented chefs got pulled down by their teammates during the group challenge, unable to advance.
      Chef Ahn youseoung, who makes Japanese dishes and has great skill in handling fish, suddenly got voted out, the look on his face was so shocked and hurt, he even couldn’t show his talent and operate properly in the next restaurant round due to the lack of information from the production.
      We all see how impressive chef Edward was in the tofu round.. he’s also so humble.. while the other one was so arrogant. We all know chef Edward is the true winner.
      I’m not sure if I will watch the next season, don’t feel so good watching it, but I’m glad it let me know about amazing chef Edward.

    I've been watching cooking shows and experimenting in the kitchen since I could reach the counters with a chair. Cooking for others makes me feel like I'm feeding their souls and sharing mine with them. Im a firm believer that food can connect people in a way that nothing else can. Its my love language. Oddly enough, I never considered it a career path for myself and instead tried pursuing every other interest I had. I tried 27 different jobs and have been in college pursuing psychology, Ive hated the way my professional future looked every time. Nothing quite suited me and I fell into a deep depression, feeling as if life wasn't worth it anymore. I've been so lost for over 10 years. Now at 30, after watching Chef Edward Lee on Culinary Class Wars for the first time since he first captured my interest on Iron Chef, I've decided to finally pursue my grandest, deepest passion in life. Thank you so much, Chef Edward, for sharing your passion with the world. It has very much saved my life.

      With all due respect the show wasn't rigged go back and watch all of the stuff they cut out. Chef Edward Lee was peak and showed off his creativity in culinary arts but he went with some thing kinda experimental with his last dish compared to Napoli Mafia who poured his soul into something he excelled at. They both did a fantastic job but the fact that you call out the chef who earned his name through out the competition as simply the "pasta man" shows a ton of bias. At the end of the day it was a competition and if you look at everyones interview the show runners tried to make it fair and objective and just because your favorite guy didn't win doesn't make the other competitors any less of a great chef on their own right. Don't judge a book by it's cover just because you were blinded by tunnel vision.
