Dude! You could have an infection that could lead to serious consequences! I have seen cases of people going to sketchy nail salon and ending up with an infection that lead to their nail falling and never growing back; tools that are not properly disinfected can lead to fungi growth or even serious infections like Hepatitis C because there is sometimes blood involved, like in your case. Oh this is the crappiest lesson to learn. A couple of years ago I decided to go get my hair cut into the cute long bob ‘mom haircut’. I hadn’t found ‘my’ hair girl yet, so I went into my typical salon as a walk-in (I’m sure you can guess that this was my first mistake lol) and was taken back to a super nice, suuuper old woman. She didn’t really ‘get’ the look that I was going for, and ended up BUTCHERING my hair. It seriously looked like a staircase up the back of my head, it was so choppy and terrible. It was bad enough that even my husband could tell it was bad. I went home and tried to style it, but ended up calling the salon to see if there was somebody available who could fix it. As soon as I said “Hi, I was just there for a haircut...” the lady on the phone said “Oh I was hoping you would call. Please come back and let me fix it for you! I was a couple of chairs over and could tell that you weren’t happy with it and that it needed to be fixed.” So I went back and she stayed after close to fix me into a cute A-line cut and I will NEVER let anyone else touch my hair for the rest of my life. If someone is willing to fix another stylist’s mess, you stick with that girl! 🙌🏻
I know you're not going to tell us the name of the bad salon, but I think you should find some type of authority to go and inspect them and their practices. That's horrible!
I’m pretty sure I’m dying laughing and crying all at the same time 🙈😭 I honestly wish someone was recording my facial expressions as I watched this cuz I’m shook 😂 Sarah, you POOR thing!!! 😭😭😂😂
That is frightening. I agree with others, it sounds like a trafficking situation to me as well. I'm also concerned about your cut. It might be worth getting it checked out by your doctor.
I do my nails at home using kiss press on nails from Walmart, my trick is I use the brush on glue so it is much easier & I also double the glue & I get compliments constantly on my nails & people are always shocked when I tell them I haven't had them done at a nail salon! I used to get them done but 30 + versus 8 bucks you can't beat it & like I said people can't even tell I've done them at home! Love your storytime vids as well!
I feel you girl one time I got acrylic nails and one of my nails is kinda deformed from an accident that I have when I was a baby ( i just cut of my nail with my chair and I got surgery so my nail could grow back) and the lady that helped me literally starting to liming my nail until I have a normal shape but let me tell you that the pain was the worst and when I left it stared to bleed and the worst part the acrylic nails looked like freaking bells and I was so upset with myself because it took me months to convince my mother to get me acrylic nails because I bit my nails (I still do 😑) so yeah from now on I’m going to buy fake nails form the store. As a fellow hairdresser and wannabe nail techI could never condone such sketchy practices but it is good to not soak your fingers before using gel polish. The moisture can prevent the polish from curing correctly.
You are being so nice about the situation it could have turned out so bad. So many different infections, oh my goodness. When I was 16 I had the same thing happen but with a pedicure, a nice place, and a nice girl but an awful experience. It hurt so bad! I still haven't gone to a salon to get a pedicure since, I'm 35! I'm sure it's happened alot but it shouldn't. God Bless!
Ok, you handed this so well. You are a serious trooper and the most optimistic person I've ever witnessed! I would stay upset and complain over this for days..then it would be my very mission to get this facility shut down.
Sometimes even assertive people can find themselves overwhelmed in a situation and cant think how to finesse their way out. Your phone is your friend. Glance at the phone say I have an Urgent message and I have to go and walk out.
Just given some knowledge on this topic, many times there are salons that traffick women (often times they are not trained either) - hence the dingy scenery and appearance. I would have probably inquired but it can be scary when you find a place like that. It’s a step on the far end, but it’s something we should all keep in the back of our heads. I’m so sorry you went thru this, sounds like a rough time!
omg!! horrifying! I'd like to say I would've ran or not paid, but I bet I would've reacted the same as you. I seriously think you should report this salon though, it doesn't even come close to following regulations by the sounds of it, let alone anything else that could be going on... :/
Oh my goodness you poor girl. I’m sorry to hear about your experience,, it’s tough enough that as a Mama your along time is far and few, and to have spent it like that. You are such a good sport
Zombie apocalypse nail salon 😂 I have a nail shop horror story as well, walked out with BRUISES from the “massage” and sliced up cuticles with literal burns from the file😩AND HOT PINK SQUARE NAILS WITH HUGE RHINESTONES (not at all what I asked for) 😬I know exactly what you mean about randomly needing your mom every once in a while I’ll be freaking out about something and my fiancé will ask what I need and I’m just like “my mom! I just need my mom” 😂
This story-time is so hilarious and so heartbreaking at the same time!!! I feel like that was the world’s worst manicure and experience ever!!! I’m scared those tools weren’t sanitized and she cut someone else with them. I’m so so so so sorry you went through that!!! Your new nails look good though!
Sarah, this doesn't sound like any sort of legitimate business. That girl may have been sex trafficked and forced to do your appointment, hence her shaking, appearing distracted and not knowing how to actually do nails. The light in your eyes may have been purposeful. This story sounds very concerning. I hope you report this place to local authorities. There may be many more girls and women involved in this.
I actually laughed soo hard when u were discribing the place and the way you made me imagine the whole situation was hilarious XD but I felt so bad for u to have this rough experience girl I'm so sorry for this! but it was quiet a lesson to not fix what isn't broken...that's sooo TRUE!
Maybe it comes with age, but girl you need to trust your instincts! I have learnt that the hard way as well. If something doesn't feel right, get the hell out of that situation - whatever the situation is. Sidenote: Hydrogen peroxide works pretty well on nail bed infections so maybe try that if it still not getting better. What a horrible experience. :/ And also, your nails now look fab. :)
I’m a nail tech and this is genuinely DISGUSTING. I have definitely accidentally cut a clients cuticle before, but NOTHING like that, nowhere near that bad. Her cleanliness gives me genuine anxiety. Your hands should never hurt after a nail appointment. That’s scary!
I get why you didn't leave. I would have done the same thing then went home and cried. I would just not return rather than complain. It's just how I am. I expect the best intentions of everyone so when something goes wrong I'm in shock and don't know how to react so I just go with the flow. I'm glad you're usual salon was able to fix the colour. Hopefully there won't be any permanent damage.
Sarah, I'd be concerned that this place is a trafficking hub. Like for real this girl could be in danger. I didn't see the place, just heard your description, but it raises some serious trafficking red flags. You can have someone at least check in on it.
No it isn’t. Stop spreading false information and scaring people for no reason please. HIV dies shortly after exposed to the air. Even if there were blood on tools used from someone who had HIV and then were used on someone else, it is extremely EXTREMELY UNLIKELY that an HIV infection would happen. It is more likely you would get a fungal, staph, or even hep infection. HIV from blood is most likely spread from penetration or sharing needles.

Omg Sarah 😂 I recently qualified as a nail tech but have still been super nervous to start advertising because I’m such a perfectionist... girl, you just boosted my confidence in my ability and competence waaaayy up there! 😂😂😂
I'm not even a nail person, but my grandmother went to cosmetology school for hair and nails, and she always stressed to never cut the cuticle area, it can open and you can get some serious infection.
Haha Sarah you ARE good at story telling, this was so funny 😂😂 I’m sorry you had such a horrible experience but I’m glad your nails look beautiful now! 👌🏻💗
I totally agree with you on the fact that if you're doing a service for someone you should look the part or like you know what your doing! How are you supposed to have confidence in someone when they look like they can't take care of theirself??!! I got a fungal infection from the nail girl I was seeing! Made me so mad that I'm in the process of learning to do my own nails! Got all the equipment and everything! Every time I do them I get a little better lol and I KNOW my drill bits and so on are clean!!
Oh Sarah!!! I am about to cry for you! I hope you’re okay. Seriously. I went to school for esthetics and I’m so freaked out for you. Run next time, trust your gut!!
I have a had a similar experience getting acrylics once. I went to an hair and nail academy with my friend to get acrylics just for fun. The place was clean and looked professional but my nail results were horrible. She didn't soak my cuticles before pushing them back also. When she was filing the nails down to the shape I wanted she made me bleed on several of my fingers. My nails were red and swollen for several days after that. The acrylics were stuck to my skin. The nails themselves were thick and not shaped right. The polish job was also horrible. At one point the acrylics were so thick she was trying to use metal nail clippers to trim them which can seriously damage your nail. Even though I was at an academy with students I expected better results.
Yikes. Most definitely report that! There's no reason they should be open to the public if that's the kind of experience everyone's going to have. How AWFUL!
You need to report that the place to the health department!

I don’t get my nails done anymore because I get a nail fungus every time!! 😨😳 I’m all Na-tur-ale now 🤣🤷♀️
YES, same here, I like the natural look!
I would actually say that that business needs to be reported!!!
Sounds like a good premise for a horror movie. Lol.
I actually laughed soo hard when u were discribing the place and the way you made me imagine the whole situation was hilarious XD but I felt so bad for u to have this rough experience girl I'm so sorry for this!
but it was quiet a lesson to not fix what isn't broken...that's sooo TRUE!
I am just so thankful that you are okay!!
Thanks for the story time!! So sorry you experienced that!
I'm so sorry but this whole story made me laugh 🤣🤣🤣 I would be the same sit there too embarrased to move!!
You look stunning in soft pink!!! 💕
Omg Thankssss for the laughter! This made my day but I’m also so sorry for this horrible experience 🤭❤️😂
Wow haha!!! Your pink nails are very pretty ❤️ Love story time!
Blood exposure from dirty instruments can be very dangerous.
I'm so sorry for your experience.. I can't believe this gal was a licensed & trained nail technician. Thank you for sharing!
Why did you go in if you noticed it was a weird place from the very beginning? 😰
As others have already mentioned - PLEASE go see a doctor!
This story gave me an anxiety attack. Lmao. Noooo. I can feel the bad vibes from that place, just from your story. I'm uncomfortable. 😬
@SarahTherese Suuuh a cute top, dress??? It’s where is it from??? Please tell us!
Sarah, I'd be concerned that this place is a trafficking hub. Like for real this girl could be in danger. I didn't see the place, just heard your description, but it raises some serious trafficking red flags. You can have someone at least check in on it.
The worst part is that not many people realize that it's really easy to get infected with HIV in the nail salon. People, please watch out!
Hep C isn't so forgiving. Hell, even a staph infection would land you in critical care.
Emmjoy7 i completely agree. But HIV, not even possible
@@janiel6390 it's possible although less likely www.google.com/amp/s/www.thestar.com/amp/news/canada/2018/01/10/officials-warns-customers-of-london-ont-nail-salon-to-get-tested-for-hiv-hepatitis-b-c.html
Omg Sarah 😂 I recently qualified as a nail tech but have still been super nervous to start advertising because I’m such a perfectionist... girl, you just boosted my confidence in my ability and competence waaaayy up there! 😂😂😂
Oh my thats a horrible experience. 😬😬😬. Love your story time.
I'm not even a nail person, but my grandmother went to cosmetology school for hair and nails, and she always stressed to never cut the cuticle area, it can open and you can get some serious infection.
Holy crap! I can’t believe you even paid for that!! As a former nail tech, I would have pitched a fit. You’re too sweet.
My mom always taught me don't change your hair dresser and nail salons 🥰🥰
OH NOOOO! I’m so sorry. I was anxious the whole time you were talking like oh no ohhhhh no. 😂
I can’t believe you ACTUALLY paid for that service!
Yikes. Most definitely report that! There's no reason they should be open to the public if that's the kind of experience everyone's going to have. How AWFUL!
Wow your hair is growing so fast! You look so pretty with your short hair 😊
😂If I open a door and have to go down dark stairs I'm walking away. The rust is scary too 😭
So glad you got them fixed and hopefully they feel better
I had a really good upbringing and my mom's the one who sometimes feel like "I want my daughter" 😂
That sounds like a nightmare omg... yikes... I was holding on to my fingers and nails the whole video
As a nail tech, I’m actually dying watching this video...omg I’m so sorry 😭🤢🤮
