Fantastic David great to see the ascent from the South and very very well done on the massive contacts on 2M and 20M, fantastic pileup on 20. Look forward to more videos in 2023 👍🙏👏 Love to ‘Benny Hill’ fast set up, that will be playing in my head from now on! 😅
Nice activation Dave great pile up too. You are a very good op I am no way near as good as you. I get quite mic shy and mess up. Hope to make a video very soon. Hate my voice on play back plus need to looking to the editing and what not. Motters M7TRS 73 👍🏻
Hi Leigh, Thank you ☺️. You’re too kind 🙏🏻. I often mess up myself… But it’s usually down to bad prep in some shape or form. Having comfort and a good position to log in etc. gets you off to a better and more confident starting position in my opinion. Not that I always achieve this! 😂
@@IrishHamRadio Morning Dave. Thank you for the feedback. I did my first video last night of a unboxing. I opened the box pulled out the item then realised I press record properly was was just talking to my self. I mess up with a couple of things. It felt like ages but only 5 mins and missed a couple of things. Lol 😂 So not sure what I will do with the footage now as I now have the battery charging my radio. Was itching to open the box it had been say on the side for about 3 days 😬😖 Speak soon mate. Great work 73 👍🏻
Great video Dave. I know that feeling when cold creeps in. Been there, done that (many times). There's been a few occasions over the years when I didn't activate on every band which I intended to due to getting cold. You weren't joking when you said I was 59.....that is a surprisingly loud signal for such a modest antenna!
Hi James, Yep you were banging in. 💪🏻 When I watched back the final edit, I realised I was going on a bit about the cold… and I did consider editing some of it out. Then I realised being honest that’s how I felt and that’s the reality. Even with experience on a “not too terrible” day, sometimes the cold can get into you. Hence I left the wining in the video 😜.
@@IrishHamRadio Yep. I'm the same with my videos. I like to show the honest reality as opposed to a dressed up fantasy of how I wish it was. I often leave mistakes in the final edit & regularly show outtakes at the end when it hasn't gone according to plan.
Well done on the activation David. That pile up seemed difficult at times. You did right to get off the summit as you were clearly feeling the cold. Ace you worked the QRP operator too. 73 Chris M0RSF
Yeah as I was saying to one of the other guys… I considered editing out alot my wining about being cold, but it was the reality and I think it’s good to show they even when prepared, when you’re sitting still for ages you can get very cold.
@@IrishHamRadio you’re a very professional SOTA operator. One of the very best in Ireland. You use all the abbreviations. Nice professional setup. I’ve just learned today what QSL means.
@@theirishoutdoorcook1207 Ah thanks Siobhán, I make manys a mistake too! I do try to operate to the correct protocol as much as possible, and I do like to give the opportunity to portable stations to come in, as they are usually lower power and find it harder to break the pile-up. @@IrishHamRadio Dave I noticed you requested Summit to Summit only. Is that a personal preference or is it the rules? I know off by heart the 4 mostly used Q codes.
