I’ve learned that women don’t really live these experiences 1st hand. They heard a story from a friend of a friend of a friend. Same with women experiencing discrimination at work.
At ASU, from 1998 - 2004, the majority of Black Females under 25 lived in on-campus living for families and students older than 25. I was able to live their because my roommate was 29 at the time. Our next-door neighbor was a single mother of 3 kids. The entire apartment community was filled with Single Black Mother's. I rarely saw other family races.

For the past 3+ years, I have considered becoming a comic book creator. My desire to do so came about as I was fascinated to see how many Black comic creators when in the independent market and how impactful they appeared to be in representing Black people. That has all changed more recently. Most Black comic fans only care about Black characters by Marvel and DC, even if they're clearly racist depictions. Plus, as time went on, I saw how divided Black people are and that there was no hope in changing things. I started asking myself what the point is in promoting positive images of a group of people who love negative images and have zero appreciation of those who desire to do good for our group.
