- Review and install of the OEM Subaru Crosstrek side window deflectors on a 2016 Crosstrek (same for all years). These allow windows to be rolled down a little (for ventilation) without rain getting in. Install takes bout 45 minutes.
Product link to purchase these deflectors on Amazon: amzn.to/2dT7Edo
One of the few cases when the OEM window deflectors look much better than aftermarket.
100% I just put cheap ones in and the OEM look a lot better so getting those later
You probably dont give a shit but does someone know a tool to get back into an instagram account?
I was stupid forgot the account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me
@Landry Benjamin Instablaster :)
@Kian Gus I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and I'm in the hacking process atm.
Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
@Kian Gus It worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thanks so much you saved my account!
Just put these on my 2016. Thanks for the tutorial. The instructions seem pretty straight forward but it's always nice to see someone else do it first. 👍 My only addition would be to be careful adjusting the location of the deflector after the clips are in place. The metal clips can gouge the black vinyl window trim. Not a big deal if you never plan on taking the deflectors off.
Just a really well done video. Short and sweet. Clear and concise. Thanks so much.
Thanks for this video. Worked also for my 2017 Outback 3.6R even though the weathershields are a different part number to yours. Exactly the same installation procedure. The provided Subaru instructions made it seem so complicated including, on mine (here in Sydney Australia), use of a hair dryer/blower on the door frame after applying the Isopropyl alcohol. Totally unnecessary in our climate. Well done.
Thanks for this video! This is the best and most helpful tutorial. Definitely a must-watch for OEM window deflector buyers as the instructions that came with the product are in typical Japanese fashion...they make it so complicated for what it actually is lol
Thanks for the video. I watched it to get ready to install OEM window deflectors on my XV today. Very helpful!
Thank you for sharing this. It was a great tutorial and gave me the confidence to tackle this project. Look forward to adding some more mods to my Crosstrek!
Thank you, our visors were lacking any install literature so your upload's well appreciated 🍻
2017 - 202x Mazda CX-5 window deflectors install exactly the same way. When I installed these, I learned by the 3rd CX-5 to pull the tape off gradually as I pressed the visor down working along as I went. This way there is no chance of the visor accidentally moving. Also, avoid car washes and refrain from driving the vehicle for 24 hours after installation.
Purchased a 2018 XV Crosstrek (last week, 15NOV2017) and your instructions worked well. I would've liked to had seen more information on the clips/ fasteners and window channel gasket removal. My kit came with I am assuming Japanese writing and no installation instructions, so thanks.
Question does the 3M adhesive tape attach inside the window track "OR" on the outside frame of the video?
Thinking of buying this for the 2018 Crosstrek Premium w/ Eyesight. Your input is appreciated.
I purchased these. Have them in hand just havent installed yet. It appears they clips go into the channel and the 3M tape attaches to the outside frame of the window. I will be attempting to install on Monday.@@J.R.F.23
Looks great! Good job! Just got some for my Forester. Thanks for the demo -- it'll help me with my installation!
WOW your Crosstrek looks better every video you make!
Thank you! So much easier than subarus instructions. Made install a breeze.
Excellent video, much better than the paper instructions. Thank you!
Thanks for this video. In order to get the factory directions which are not provided in the box you have to pay for a subscription to access the directions! I've done many of these, but none had the clips.
I'm glad I saw this. I almost pulled on the wrong weather strip. Thanks.🙏
I want to put these on but I wasn't sure if they had clips or just tape. Thanks for the video.
Very much appreciate this; thank you for making this video!
thanks for posting this. it looks really easy with good instructions provided.
I just installed them on my crosstrek. The clips will scratch the plastic window trim if you move left and right to position. I got really deep scratches. U won’t see them with the deflectors on but if you ever take them off they’ll be noticeable. :(
Thank you so much for making this video. Just installed visors on my Crosstrek thanks to your video!
REALLY appreciate you making this video.
Love your channel keep the videos coming! I haven't seen many people keep up videos on the crosstrek/impreza id love to see you do it
Looks great. I will be installing these on my 2019 WRX Sport-tech when I get it, waiting since April for it. It will be on my channel when I get it. My wife gets her 2019 Crosstrek Sport this weekend, it has to go through the PDI process. OEM rain deflector for it also.
Here in northern Chile we have some models with this factory deflectors.
Used this to make my own video for a WRX Hatch, the only part I had trouble with was where the clips went but you didn’t show that. Other than that great video
I did not get the instruction book for mine, this is very helpful. Thank you.
Going to tackle this on my 23 legacy, dealer wants $300 for labor and another $500 to install the moon roof deflector 🤣
Took me an hour taking my time to install these and the moonroof deflector. Thanks for the video 😎
Great video and thanks for the link. Installed mine today and saved money
Muchas gracias, me sirvió para instalar los deflectores en mi Forester Sport
Thanks for this! Just made my life a whole lot easier
thank you for the video. Installed my visors thanks to it.
Your car looks great. Thanks for the helpful video!
thank you! my set didnt come with instructions and the website link they gave me didnt work either.
Mine didn't come with the clips or instructions for my Crosstrek. Installed OEM wind deflectors from Amazon for my 2015 Impreza and those came with everything. Going back to the dealership with these because I don't want them falling off at the first car wash after installation.
I finally installed my window louvres today following your video. Worked out but needed help from my wife since the clips didn’t grip very well and placing the window gaskets was a bit frustrating. Otherwise job done! Now, what’s my next upgrade? Maybe a roof basket?
If you’re wife helps you install stuff then a new wife is definitely not your next upgrade. Go with the roof basket or mud flaps!
great instructional! they look good, im off to buy some!
Much easier than the Printed Instructions👍
Great video, helped us out! Much easier understanding the instructions after watching this! :D
do you have to use the clip just sayin
Thanks for the video. It helped a lot.
Nice job!! What did u do to the door handles? And did u plasti dip the black on the hood?
Door handles and hood are vinyl wrapped
Subaru XV Crosstrek Central did you purchase the door handle wraps or make them? If made, did you keep the template by chance?
Wrapped at a custom shop in PHX
Subaru XV Crosstrek Central I live in Phoenix too. May I ask who provided the vinyl wrap?
Apex Customs in central PHX
Excellent video
Do these help at all with wind vibration when you're driving with the windows down? I notice my crosstrek has a lot of "wubba wubba" wind when I'm driving particularly with the rear windows down.
No they don’t help with that. If you crack rear wines then crack a front or vice versa to stop the buffeting. The main advantages of the deflectors are for privacy when windows are cracked and to prevent rain from entering when windows are cracked.
So useful thank you!
merci beaucoup ... this video helped a lot ... much appreciated
post more I miss your videos, doesnt have to be over done with a bunch of bs just a video w the car doing car stuff please
I recently received my Window deflectors (#F0010FL030) and there weren't any installation instructions included! WTF?
DO NOT SLIDE IT INTO PLACE WHEN CLIPS ARE IN IT WILL RIP AND SCRATCH PLASTIC COATING ON YOUR WINDOW FRAME. Otherwise good video
Thanks!! Mine didn't come with instructions!
Good job! Thanks 👍
Good Video Thanks For posting.
Question does the 3M adhesive tape attach inside the window track "OR" on the outside frame of the video?
Thinking of buying this for the 2018 Crosstrek Premium w/ Eyesight. Your input is appreciated.
Outside
What are your thoughts? Any increased highway noise?
Great install! Question...what are your door handle indents lined with? Looks like good protection. Are they inserts?
Vinyl wrap same as hood and headlights
Will these fit a 2013 Impreza? (NOT WRX)
Will this be the same for 2018 legacy can’t seem to find a video for them??
I'm planning to install window deflectors but I have question: what's different between OEM and WeatherTech?
Can't comment on the WeatherTechs, haven't even seen them in person. Maybe someone else will have experience with both.
Quick question. I have a 16, and mine too has a roof rack. Do these deflectors help with interior noise at all (Window''s up or cracked). I have heard from some it does/doesn't as deflectors change the wind flow direction. Thank's for input!!!
Not sure, I didn't really monitor before with windows cracked. I mostly got them for cracking windows if I stay overnight in the car ( see upcoming video on that ).
How do you like the bf Goodrich ko2’s, also is that stock or lifted?
Is visibility restricted much from inside? Also, are they loud at highway speed? Do they vibrate? Have they held up okay?
Never noticed reduced visibility, haven’t heard noise from them, they held up fine no issues.
@@AZAdventureInc Thanks for reply!
Nice. Thank You so much. 💕
Good video, would you still recommend these in 2020? In search for some, thank you.

Sorry to be so nosy but...What do you use this car for? And why did you choose the crosstrek?
Bought it to replace a 2012 Ford Focus because of the transmission issues they have. Researched compact hatchbacks, came across the Crosstrek and liked the functionality. It's my daily driver. Decided the functionality trumps the economy factor for me. Plus I plan on buying a cabin soon where it snows...
+Subaru XV Crosstrek Central Thanks for the reply; I currently drive a Jeep wj and am interested in switching to a crosstrek. How's the off-road ability & is it lacking in power?
Doesn't lack power, at least for the CVT transmission. I tokk it for it's first off-road adventure this week in the Arizona strip, 140 miles of dirt, about 6 miles of it rough (labeled high clearance vehicles). Xtrek did great, look for a video soon.
i don't know if this question was asked on another video, but where did you order your OEM parts?
Check out video description
What wheel setup do you have!? I see sparcos but do they rub? I want a more aggressive look but everyone ive spoken too say their wheels rub and pull off the front bumper.
+Kyle Pitocchelli
Get a lot of questions about the tires/wheels. The Wheels are Sparco Terra's 16" w +45mm offset (about same as stock), they were gray, got powder coated black (only come in gray, white, gold) and had OEM Sparco looking stickers made for them in tan to match car. Tires are BFG KO2's 215/65R16 LR "D" (only come in a D load range). Tires are same diameter as OEM Yokos and since wheels are same offset no rubbing issues. Little noisier but fine IMO.
+Subaru XV Crosstrek Central Thanks for the info! I'd like to change out my stockers and pick those up! they look fresh!
what did you do to the rear tail lights? they look really nice with whatever goes around them
Tail light chrome trim pieces available on eBay that are plasti dipped black.
Thanks!
Love your videos by the way
Hey Buddy! Who makes your front bumper bar? Thanks.
Watch other video on it and brand you shall find!
i have a forester 2014, will the installion be the same using the forester oem side window deflector?
Can't say for sure but my guess would be it's the same
So do the clips do a good job?
Yep
bought em' and returned them with out installing, felt like they were cheap cheap cheap
Is there any improvement in wind noise?
Nope
hello, can i ask for a video of your headlights and backlights? I Would like to confirm if its a black tint or a cover?" Thanks subaru xv crosstrek central! Ur the best!
What % is your front window tint? I want to get mine done and was thinking of doing 35%
It's 33%, the legal limit for AZ for the front side windows. The back windows were all lightly tinted standard so had the same 33% tint put on all windows so the back ones all got darker..
I wanted to just put 35% on top of all windows, looks nice!
great. thanks.
How are they holding up?
Fine, no issues at all.
ty!
Where's best place to buy these?local dealer. .on line??
Best price shipped I found at the time was on eBay, about $92.00. I always check eBay, Amazon, and the discount online Subaru parts sites.
I noticed that you removed the blue Subaru emblem on your front grille. How did you manage to do that? I have a '15 Impreza and I want to remove the emblem off of my sport mesh grille.
It's a different grill, check out other videos
Looks like another pair of hands might help someone with the dropsies.
Don’t buy on newer models. My Subaru had no clips or instructions. Broke (cheap plastic snapped) on install.
Can anyone help find a link for my 2020 Crosstrek? I can only find up to 2018-2019 and there’s something about the 2020s that won’t allow them to fit.
See your garage is full of stuff like mine is lol.
how do you get winded from installing window deflectors?
also wear a darker shirt and show what you are doing for better content...the green shirt makes your cameras light sensor adjust way too much...
Hey man watch the paint job..5:06
Oof. 115 bucks? Yikes man..
Inflation sucks.
@@AZAdventureInc Indeed it does
Make more money bro
could of rolled the window down
