About NYT Cooking:
All the food that’s fit to eat (yes, it’s an official New York Times production). - Навчання та стиль
French toast is the alpha and you’re deluding yourself if you think otherwise 😅
I stand by this
As long as they don't fuck it up
French toast #1 always!! Then waffles, pancakes. Just had French toast with berries and cream yesterday!😋
"want something softer in morning" "i love the crisp on the pancakes" show waffles the respect!!!
I ran a real bed and breakfast for 7 years, and without a doubt, my best recipe was for French toast made with Portuguese sweet bread, which is lighter and airer than challah, and needs to be frozen to slice and soak, and can only be soaked for about 2-3 minutes.
The batter is milk, eggs, and dark rum, and served with real maple syrup. It puffs up like a souffle. Collapses, too. lol
Leftovers make fantastic sandwiches.
Party on!
Of that list: French Toast. Of general breakfast food: Bagels with lox. No question.
Specifically sesame bagel with lox!
@@ZaxorVonSkyler sesame got no flavor. Sorry not sorry. Onion or everything bagel
@@TheKos2Kos It tastes nutty toasty and crunchy, go get your tastebuds fixed dude. Tahni has a taste as well for instance.
More often than not, I'm gonna want waffles. Every now and then, I'll want pancakes especially if they're unusual such as buckwheat, cornmean, oat, or whole wheat. The same with French Toast-- just once in a while and especially if it's an unusual bread.
French Toast getting the love it deserves and Scott being in front of the camera! Truly a great video all around! 🥰
You forgot the breakfast carb which has always been my favourite: crepes!
Scott is so cute omg 😩
Of course French Toast won; it’s a Melissa Clark recipe and Melissa Clark can’t miss!
Waffles forever. But agree with others everything bagel ftw
I love all three. I do not think I could choose a favorite. I will say I am always surprised that no one makes french toast they way I was raised to eat and now make it. My family always deep fried our french toast. YUM! That is not healthy, but as a treat every once in a while...fantastic and delicious!
I make all three: I put chopped chocolate in my pancakes; I make pecan waffles; and use brioche bread for French toast.
Even with the zhuzhing of the pancakes and waffles, the winner is still French toast!
This was delightful to watch!
I want all three!!!
When I make French Toast I always toast the bread in the toaster first and add a bit of flour to the batter until it's the consistency of crepe batter. This way I never have soggy French toast!
Shouldn't they be toasted in the toaster AFTER frying them in the pan? That's how to make them crispy.
@@milhouse14 I mean you can do both, but the first toast helps the bread soak up liquid better.
and the winner is - Scrambled Eggs
Made the french toast challah after watching this, SO GOOD!! Thank you
Waffles
Pancakes
French Toast.
the long awaited return of the POV phone perilously balanced on a ruler 🙌
All of these are good, because really, it's all about the maple syrup. 🍁
French toast is my favorite. My best French toast was at Sheries in Gilbertsville, NY. Love your receipe and will try it love the custarty taste. Congratulations on your videos.
Pancakes for life my guy. Especially with a side of Eggs, Bacon, Grits, Sausage.
That french toast you made is making a statement as in it’s your everything. I’d love to make it but don’t know where to find Challah bread in Orange County, CA.
The crunch sound on that pancake is peak ASMR content.
French toast forever! I personally like using really crusty rustic italian loaves and using that, it gives it more texture than challah. Another thing is I also use lavender sugar when making the soaking mixture to give it those nice floral notes
this is elite
I am missing Alison Roman in NYT Cooking. Don’t get me wrong, i love when Claire and all the other cooks come over but the reason why i started to become obsessed with NYT Cooking was because of Alison. Please bring back Alison and let her cook everything! I miss her and i love her!
I believe she has her own channel. So you can also see her through there.
I always say waffles favorite but I do love French toast. Pancakes are pretty much always last place but adding things to them is always fun
My dog is so confused because she keeps hearing her name, Pancake.
LOL this is so cute
lol
I am definitely an oatmeal or yoghurt breakfast lover, but i would definitely take pancake first, waffle second and pass on the french toast, 🤗
For making home I would go for pancake because easier, plus I don't have a waffle iron but a good fluffy Belgian waffle is LIFE!! French toast tends to me took rich for me for breakfast.
French toast is delicious but put strawberries on a crispy waffle Oooooo the best.
Pancakes with cinnamon in the batter is good but they sit to heavy in my stomach.
My personal ranking from worst to tastiest:
4. Pancakes
3. Waffles
2. French toast
1. Scott Loitsch ***
what?
I saw pancakes at the bottom, and got angry, then clicked show more, and I approve of the list now.
At home: pancakes. At a restaurant: French toast alllll the way ❤️
Iy grandma was around her waffles were da bomb. However I love Minnesota pancakes with fresh blueberries. I do love the look of that challah French toast with cardamom. What the hey. I think its a day by day choice!
Just had this discussion at work this other day 😂💕
french toast definitely!!!
I have also come to a conclusion: You Sir Are Handsome AF 😍
more of scott please! ;)
These all could be desserts
I like the pro chef on epicurious when they did how you make french toast episode. Much better soaking time.
For me, it's pancakes, French toast, and waffles but only is the pancakes are served with sour cream. I'm not overly fond of the very sweet maple syrup.Pancakes with sour cream has been my go-to since childhood.
Would honestly die for a pancake!
More Scott!
In New Zealand in summer, Weetbix with nectarines and bananas. It can't be beat. Rest of the year, porridge. Also avacado and Vegemite on toast. Oh yes.
what's weetbix like? I've wanted to try it and I think they have it in canada
@@micheallancaster8852 I guess try it and see? The key thing is that they are not too dry.
I'm French and so proud that our little boy won. In France, french toast is called "lost bread" because we mostly use hard bread (the bread that have been lost) to make it. A quick, easy and delicious way to transform what could have been thrown in the trash.
I have a little lexical question, do you call everything "bread" in the US ? Because for what i can see this is not bread, this is brioche. Is brioche considered as a type of bread ?
Good video anyway, thx.
yea brioche is considered bread
idk but i think in most parts of the world, any yeasted dough thats made mostly with flour that creates this rly fluffy dough is called bread so.... like sandwich bread is bread, brioche is bread, challah is bread, baguette is bread, ciabatta is bread, etc
for croissants most ppl will consider it a pastry or a cross between a bread and a pastry
i mean brioche is just an eggy buttery sweet bread no? why is it not considered a bread in france? is it considered a cake instead or is it just its own thing? (just curious hehe)
ok but one thing i dont get (im not american) is the fact that banana bread is called BREAD. its a cake. its a damn cake u cant tell me otherwise. its literally a dessert
@@hypnosesgodchild Thanks for the response and explanations.
The brioche in France is in the category of "viennoiseries", like croissants. Viennoiseries are products whose recipes are similar to that of bread or puff pastry, but fattier and sweeter, that brings them closer to pastry (eggs, butter, milk, cream , sugar…) We usually eat them at breakfast or at 4pm.
@@LordFinn ohh so u guys have a more specific term for it that actually makes more sense
bread is just a rly broad term i guess
i think brioche is classified as bread in english and not "a cross between pastry/bread" (eg. croissants) is bc its not crunchy/flaky. like yes it is rly buttery and sweet, but the texture is closer to bread, so its just considered a sweet bread
Waffle, French toast, then pancakes....honestly I would eat it all.
1 blueberry pancakes, 2 French toast, 3 pecan waffles
I also like French toast made in a waffle iron.
Probably the same ranking for me. I don't normally have challah or brioche or anything that fancy in the house, but sometimes I get some French bread that my mom makes, and that stuff makes excellent French toast. As for pancakes, I tried making them with yeast instead of baking powder one time, and I really don't like the baking soda/powder ones anymore. They just taste metallic and unnatural, probably because of the sodium. NaHCO3 turns into Na2CO3, which is pretty caustic. I use Na2CO3 to develop film, I don't want to eat it.
As for waffles, they're fine, but usually too much trouble to make.
Try folding beaten egg whites into your pancake batter instead of using yeast or baking powder/soda, way more fluffy
I only make French Toast with eggnog (buy it and freeze it) Must always have cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamon in it.
Once you master waffles... you can make them chocolate, eggnog flavoured, or anything you desire -- try adding your sourdough discard ;)
As for pancakes (I can't stand them) but I did learn a cool way to make them on a griddle: Cinnamon bun pancakes >>> Make them in long, very thin strips (not much thicker than a crepe); sprinkle a mix of crushed pecans, cinnamon/cardamon, & brown sugar down the centre before your first flip. Barely cook them after the flip. Roll them up towards you and stand vertically on the plate. Squeeze bottle of cinnamon bun icing and your fav syrup - kids and adults love them.
Make your own egg nog with a cup of alchohol per cup of cream and it keeps for a month or 2 in the frig. I did and my french toast has never been better. Now I am never without in the off eggnog season.
I preffer Waffles. I make the with sourdough and a blend of buckwheat flour and wheat. They are yummy!
I think it highly depends on where you from and what you grew up eating. For me, always
1. waffles
2. french toast (Hong Kong style is even better)
3. pancakes
My ranking:
1.panckes
2.French toast
3.waffles
What is the instrumental towards the end of video
You guys in the US start your day with tons of sugar! OMG! I hope it's not on a daily basis.
these are usually weekend brunch treats, not every day!
@@beachesandcream27 my mom or dad always makes either 1 of these for me and my sister before school
@@dripkid1128 That’s cute lol. Very high effort parents.
@@ghettomist1575 thanks😀
1. Egg-in-a-hole
2. French toast
3. Pancakes
4. Waffles
Why do I have to choose? 🤷♀️ I want all of them!
obsessed
🙋🏾♀️Waffle lover here!
...especially when they're baked in my Belgium Mickey Mouse waffle iron...
The ears pool the maple syrup ..😋
french toast
French Toast!!
I LOVE U! 🤩
Waffles
I. Don’t. Care.
are you maikng pancakes in ghee
This is pretty subjective. Whatever you like best is best to you
Mmm, all of them look delicious, everything changes when at my home, my husband uses whole wheat.
Ala carte: pancakes and waffles have very little protein and can cause sugar spikes in the blood, depending upon the ingredient base.
French toast, made with whole-grain bread, with PB and some fresh/frozen fruit has a higher protein valuation, medically speaking.
those pancakes seem good. But I kinda noticed that you basically added flower to the butter and fried it...in butter :p
yes! 1 french toast 2 pancakes 3 waffles
My response is "yes" and order them all!
I have a problem...
Well - Always French Toast is #1 if it's a sweet breakfast you're after : 1) French Toast; 2) Pancakes; 3) Waffles - but French Toast with butter & just a dusting of powdered sugar & the same with pancakes (syrup is too much sweet) & a little butter & jam on the waffle - or an egg or parm/cheese.
French Toast all the way
I’m definitely a pancake girl!
This man is so gorgeous. *swoon

A Karen has escaped the asylum! Somebody call the orderlies quick!
Pancakes will always be my number one
This is a TOUGH QUESTION
(I think french toast is the best!!!)
I don't think crunch should be considered. Texture is definitely there though
First clip of the vid I thought Scott had a earring lol
🥞
I have that same waffle iron! Best pandemic purchase along with my squatty potty
French toast pancakes waffles for me
EVERY, EVERY breakfast food is best
UM my ranking is the exact opposite so I have many questions
Pancakes all the way #teampancakes
Q. Pancakes, waffles, or French toast?
Me: yes, please!
Eggs and cheese 😍👍
Yes
🍞 always
Where are the recipes located, please?
They're now in the description of the video, if they weren't before :)
Pancakes are the best and waffles remind you of a hotel? Lol never heard that before.
French toast is NOT in a part of a continental breakfast...
Kozaiyan vs demaiyan
🥞🥞🥞🥞
of course the pancakes tasted good, they were absolutely slathered in butter
I'm doing a waffle vs pancake war in Furry Amino so I'm doing my research lol
French toast, pancakes, waffles but the real maple suryp brings it to another level. REAL MAPLE SURYP FROM VERMONT OR CANADA, NO OFF SURYPS FROM NYC, WISCONSIN, PENNSYLVANIA, OR ANYWHERE, JUST VERMONT OR CANADA.
french toast > pancake > waffle
waffles, hands down
I swear he was on buzzfeed tasty before
Waffles forever first
Team Waffles forever.
Not healthy at all, but delicious 😚!
