I'm a 70 year old geezer. Always liked blues music. I love the first Taj Mahal album and always have. Born in Seattle n 1953, I always wanted to see him live in concert. It wasn't till we moved to Hawaii Island in 2011 that I got my chance. He did a show, along with Kim Simmons of Savoy Brown at the Honokaa People's Theater in that town, and I finally got to see him play. It was a fine night for me.
I learned to sing and play Taj's music in the late 60s around the campfire with friends.Seen his many iterations over the years. He brought me much joy
I remember being overseas with the US Army in 1970, and it gets lonely sometimes and all that. A friend of mine put on a Taj Mahal record, and it lifted me off my feet, it was soo good. Thanks, Taj.
Music like this can heal your ailing soul. When I lost my soulmate of 42 yrs in 2020 I felt so cold and empty. Music, specially blues was the one comfort that made me come through all the misery and helped to get my life back on track.
incredibly cool setting to see Taj play in. I like how no one on the streets pays much attention. like, Taj does this all the time. it would be cool if he did.
My sister took to one of his concerts in Hudsonville Michigan in a small venue. It was one of the best times I ever had with my sister. I still love to rock out with Taj. Always makes me feel good.
I totally love your musics, Taj! You were a wonderfull influence on a couple of guys at a studio that i worked at! The brothers Allman and i thank you for that! Your music makes everyone better in some way, and that's not all bad and a blessing. Blessings returned to you! That's what its all about. P.S. What a beautiful guitar you have!
I remember that day in 1969 when my friends played a Taj Mahal record for me the first time. Ran out immediately and bought a copy for myself. Still have a CD of that one. Never gets old.
Just saw Taj at Jazz Alley in Seattle. 11/22/23. Talked to Bill, bass player on this video. Kester Smith playing snare drum, where is Kester? Who is usually behind the drum kit on tours. The answer was, he is battling an illness. Kester I missed you last night. Sending positive energy your way ❤
It's "Miss" Brown. The song was released on "The Natch'l Blues" LP in 1968. Nobody was saying "Ms" anything back then. If you have a decent sound system, you can even hear Taj pronouncing it "Miss".
i LOVES Taj... always have... how could one not!!! woulda paid to get in that carriage with them, but there was no room! #OdedMusic #OdedFriedGaon #Audioded
Audio people - how the heck did they get this recording to sound so good? Especially his voice? I mean, is it overdubbed? Or done like most videos: band records in the studio and then essentially lip syncs for the video recording?

The audio is recorded live. All our videos are recorded live and we never do overdubs. :) We do a multitrack recording in the carriage.
