    Did the Great Range back in '84. It was pretty wild, then. That trek took us down through the valley, past the John's Brook, up and over Big Slide, and Little Porter. Did it in three days. -It would take me a month, today.

    It’s crazy how the video doesn’t depict the steepness of these peaks either going up or down. Great video, looks like a great day. Awesome. Again 👌🏼

    Such a great day hike. I did this in the reverse order. It's awesome ending on Marcy, but it's a long walk back to the car. Great video, as always. Good luck on the FKT.

    My wife and I have become huge fans of your work, Jonathan. We watch your videos at night and in addition to getting inspired for our next hike, we laugh loud and often at your antics. Hope to run into you on Main St. in LP. "Where a mask ya filthy animal."

    Bro, excellent video. Love that you continually pointed out all the surrounding peaks throughout the hike. You definitely know the area well and it made the video very engaging.
    Heading down from Canada to the ADKs for some hiking next week. It'll be my first time back since the pandemic started. So excited. I'll definitely check out your other videos for some ideas.
    Subscribed and following on Instagram. I notice you have an ice bath in your backyard like me, way to go! 🤟

    Biggest take out of this video....big NO on the yellow Eddie Bauer twist lock trekking poles. General rule should always be a hard no on twist locks.
    Anyways, another awesome video man. Missing the ADK.

    I remember seeing your first hiking video with friends. 🤣. What a long way you’ve come. Your knowledge of the Adirondacks is outstanding. Thanks for a lot of really good videos.

      Because the person John he was hiking with wanted to start on Marcy for sunrise. I also like working from that side as well. I like to climb the Saddleback cliffs and climb the Gothic cable route

      @@BrianHikesAllDay Thanks i realized you did the same thing in your video. Also it's probably less elevation gain going from Marcy to Rooster Comb. I might do it later this summer and i would want to do the taller mountains later.

    • @BrianHikesAllDay
      @BrianHikesAllDay 4 роки тому

      I believe the difference is about 1000 feet because the roostercomb parking lot sits a bit lower.. personally going down is harder for me so adding the elevation gain is easier for me.

    I miss the Adirondacks... cannot cross the border at this time. I look forward to continue my ADK46. I am curious ... is there less people on the trails this year?

      Blows my mind that they Canadian border is closed because of Covid and now they are letting in illegals who tested positive for Covid on the southern border. We are all being lied to.

    Hey Jonathan just stumbled across your video that was suggested to me and I thoroughly enjoyed it since I just was in the Adirondacks last month. I am from Bellefontaine just an hour north of Cedarville and just dropped off my oldest son at Cedarville University three weeks ago. I also noticed you’re into FKT’s as am I and I am currently training for one or two more attempts this fall. I don’t have anybody in my circle of backpacking and UA-cam buddies that can push hard and fast like me and that is also brother in Christ. I would love to join up with you sometime. Have you done the Northville placid Trail yet? I’m not planning to speed hike it because I really want to enjoy that one. I am willing to drive a good distance to PA or NY for some good training though, hope to hear from you.

    How do you prevent your feet from hurting after or durning long hikes like this? Like blister prevention and just general soreness?

    • @skiermac4679
      @skiermac4679 4 роки тому

      I think it has to do with your boots and how often you hike. If you go to a shoe store and they measure your feet and your arch, they can direct you towards a good boot that better fits your foot.
