I would absolutely love for Jordan and Amber to react to Dan Fogelberg’s “Same Old Lang Syne”. What a masterful storyteller and songwriter he was. Remember “Leader of the Band” and “Longer” and “Make Love Stay”? He died too young at 56 of prostate cancer in 2007.
Wonderful Song by a magnificent group. Oh, The Great Robert Burns. I love him. The expression “The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry” is attributed to him.
Cannot believe you guys do not sing this on New Years Eve.... It's an absolute staple in the UK and never more powerful than when sung in its home Country of Scotland.
It's been sung in Denmark, the Netherlands and Germany as well. And I believe in some parts of France. PS the melody is also the foundation for THE most popular song of Dutch fans supporting their national teams ('Wij Houden Van Oranje').
We in the US don't normally sing it, but the instrumental is played every New Year's when the ball drops in New York on every channel airing it, so a lot of people recognize the tune!
You won't find a better harmonizing group than Home Free. Each member is an amazing singer in his own right (even the beat boxer), but together their 4 and 5 part harmonies are absolute 🔥! Happy New Year guys!
As a Brit who has sung Auld Lang Syne so many times, Home Free's version is absolutely wonderful. I just want to say a special thank you to both of you, Jay and Amber as your channel is something very special, There is a real community here. This year has been very hard for me (and lonely too). You've made a difference. You really have ❤ Jo x
This song is from a poem written by Robert Burns in 1788, then based on a Scottish song from ten years later. Translated into our English it means old times, times long ago, for the sake of times gone by, etc. so we sing it to send off the old year and ring in the new year. 😁
Happy New Year 🎉 This song is sung all over the UK on New Year's Eve at midnight, people hold hands with crossed arms it's traditional young and old, everyone joins in
They did a beautiful rendition of this. I love that they included their producer Darren Rust. A acapella singer in his own right but ges been called the 6th member of HF. This song makes me teary, I wish you guys a very happy healthy bew year. Here's to 2024. ❤
There are just so many Home Free videos to react to, and I really appreciate the ones that allow most of them to have their own solo pieces. You'll notice that the beatboxer Adam Rupp had no percussion. He filled in on Tenor harmonies the whole time and was great. Thank you for a great 2023, Jay & Amber. Looking forward to more reaction adventures in '24! Make someone smile! ❤🥰
Amber was still pregnant when I first started watching y'all and now you are one of my favorite parts of every evening. Thank you both, for your open minds, your gratitude, your insight, for sharing your family and lives with US. As I've said in other comments, hearing songs that I've known my whole life through your fresh ears is just such a delight, I can't even tell you! Happy New Year to you and may this be the best yet. Cheers!
On the deepest parts of the harmony, they are so thick because the baritone Chance is hovering just above bass territory to fill out the chords... with Tim's bass under it, the thickness of the low end with those two working together is amazing.
Everyone sings this wonderful song in the UK. Robbie Burns ( Scottish Poet ) wrote it. Even me as an Englishman, like it. Also as an active accapella singer, I'd never heard of Home Free ( What a sin that seems now I've heard this! ) so thanks for playing this.
The harmony and notes Home Free hits are one thing but I'm also impressed at how long they will hold that last note in most of their songs. I hope next year is a good 'un for you guys; we're looking forward to your continued journey.
I absolutely love this performance of Auld Lang Syne by Home Free. Some of Home Frees' music gives me the delicious electric shivers and this is one of them. This is perfect for New Years Eve. Great reaction! Another of their new songs that gives me the same "electric shivers" is their cover of "Stand By Me." It's gorgeous. These sweet guys make the heart connection with their music like no others. Wishing you and your family a very Happy and Blessed New Year. So wonderful to see genuine, sweet people happy with each other and so proud of your family!
Yes, Jay and Amber, Home Free is a good acapella group that you heard in previous reactions. Are you really surprised? I was hoping to hear Dan Fogelberg's "Same Old Lang Syne", a good story song tonight. Maybe next year (which is tomorrow😅). I believe you have only done Dan Fogelberg once in 2 + years. Happy New Year to you and yours.😎🎆🎉🎊
Lots of people suggested this song when they reacted to Leader of the Band. Maybe this will refresh their memories. Or just save it for next year! Meantime maybe this will remind them of more Fogelberg to check out.
Home Free very good, but Dan Folgelberg's is very emotional and really brings out a meaning/story of the song. Happy New Year J/A Family! Let's get these folks over the 500K subscribers!
Ohhhhh how happy I am to see y'all did this! I know y'all have an endless list, but i love when you do Home Free & wish y'all did more of them. Not a disappointment in sight or earshot. Happy New Year ❤❤❤🎉
I have heard a lot of performers over the years, but these guys, I think, are truly the BEST EVER. I’ve never heard anything like them in any group. Home Fry forever here!
I really like the fact this group sang more of the verses as in most cases you only hear the first two being sung. The direct translation from the Old Scottish Language is “Old Long Since”. Over the years since the late 17 hundreds when this version started to appear Amber is correct in thinking it has come to generally mean “For Old Times Sake”. There are dozens of versions of the lyrics used and the original Scottish versions contains a lot more Old Scottish words.
I have watched you guys from the beginning and love your reactions! You really must do more Home Free. Happy New Year and may this next year be even greater for you and your family.
About the song, they never fail to disappoint with all their renditions. Hearing this song though brings back memories of all those we loss during the year but reminds us to be grateful for the time we had with them and with those still here with us. I cry everytime I hear this song, just too many family no longer here with us.
Thank you for doing this one. I really needed it. One of my best friends partner went to the ER right before Christmas. He hung on to ring in the new year with his love. Then he quietly passed away at 2 AM this morning. As one of the original listeners - before Amber - I thank you so much. It's been great watching you grow. Much love and happy new year 🎊

Happy New Year Jay and Amber !!! I started to watch the channel when Jay was by himself and then Amber come when she was pregnant with Luca. Need more Home Free in the new year!!!! So from left to Right, Left is Adam Rupp (beatboxer), Adam Chance, middle is Tim Foust (base) Rob (beard) and on the end is Austin Brown( who also has a solo songs). Oh we haven't introduced you to another Acapella group VoicePlay and their bases Geoff Castellucci who do solo work.
I finally got to see Home Free live in concert a few weeks ago! It was so amazing. I had no idea that Tim (low bass) was so hilarious and the real personality on stage, and that Adam (beat boxer) had a whole segment of his own to blow us away with his skills!
I love how Home Free keeps a lot of their video environments simple--allows the focus to be on their incredible acapella vocals. Just amazing 5-part harmonies! Home Free makes every song better!! ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ #HomeFree #AdamRuppSinging
Austin can sing, we've seen them 5 times and they are amazing in person, and they're all very tall lol. yes time flies when your children grow up, you turn around and they are adults, life is so short.
It may be a New Year, but it's still the same ol' thing..... every cover done by Home Free becomes my favorite version of that particular song. I've always loved this rendition and Austins part is incredible. You mentioned the Ruppsters brilliance and I remember watching a home behind the scenes of Adam and he took us through his hobbies and man he leaves no stone unturned in whatever he does. He showed us his room he practices his beatboxing. He did us some random sounds and said "And now I'll clean it up for you".That takes out any background sounds andjust tidies it up.He said he has to practice every day and literally drives everyone in the bus crazy.I love the Ruppsters honesty he is a beautiful family man.Sorry I got off topic guys

Completely different song, but I agree. Requested it in the comment section of their earlier video tonight. Maybe tomorrow, but I won't hold my breath.
Great reaction & yes Home Free's version is a wonderful rendition of this song. Such emotion! Not sure if you noticed by Adam Rupp didn't do any beatboxing in this song, so he was singing in his tenor voice along with the the 4 other guys. Hope you have a wonderful 2024! Also may I try suggesting again Riding with Private Malone by David Ball, & the band McFly as I don't think you guys have checked them out yet.

Thank you J. & Amber for finishing off the year with this song as your last reaction & so close to the end of the night too. ( I have just been listening to your review a few minutes past midnight & it is perfect. I have NEVER heard this song sung anywhere nearly as beautifully as this - EVER. Once again, thank-you.) As for the 2 of you - I am sorry that I CANNOT help you by subscribing to bring you to your 500K goal - as I am ALREADY a subscriber! 😊 In fact, I have been watching this channel since it was J. alone & with Amber only making guest appearances - (& very pregnant & quite obviously feeling miserable! I would cheer when the song was one that would uplift you Amber in those days!) I have a piece of advice that may help J. through his emotions next year (& other years) on New Year's Eve. I don't know if it will work for sure but it is worth a try. If you 2 aren't really doing anything for New Year's Eve, then in the last hour or so of the old year, you should take out a piece of ACTUAL paper & a pen & write out a list of easy, REACHABLE goals to do at various times for the upcoming year - even little things that will/may make you happy ie. seeing an upcoming movie that looks interesting, holding a retro dress/dance party for friends, learning a new skill, taking a day trip to some place you & the family haven't been to yet or going back to a favourite place etc., etc. Then, review your written list either just before the start of the New Year, or within a very short time frame after the start of the New Year so that THESE are your predominate thoughts. After this, put that list (by tape or magnet) on the outside of your refrigerator where you will then see it all the time. It may be nice for Amber to do 1 as well & even to help the kids make a list of their own for the year that they can also achieve on their own or with the whole family. If the 2 of you are going to be with company on New Year's Eve, then write out your list in the last few weeks/days leading UP to New Year's & review it just before you join others that night (& possibly put it in your pocket so that you can review it - even quietly in the bathroom for a few minutes - if you start to feel upset.) You can then review it once again when you return home or when your party's over & others have returned to their own home (or called it a night at yours.) Even though this time period is now passed by the time you read this (IF you read this), you should STILL make out a list of this sort for the upcoming year - especially if you are still feeling emotional or down at all. I think you may get emotional on New Year's Eve as it is THE END of something & it makes you think of other ends that you cannot get back. It is okay to take a QUICK glimpse back, not so good to completely shut it out, but by spending MOST of the time focusing on POSITIVE things THAT WILL happen in the UPcoming year, you can feel GOOD & POSITIVE & HAVE SOMETHING TO LOOK FOR-WARD TO & be in a hopeful, happier frame of mind. Even if you still recognize that you have some losses in the past (you are going to have some new GAINS in the NEAR future.) I hope this helps & that 2024 will be a good year for the two of you & for your family. Happy New Year J. & Amber! (& to everyone else out there too!) 🎉

Thnks for allowing me to spend this year with y'all may we have many, many more.
Thank you for this song, its beautiful. Thank you for introducing me to Home Free, they're incredible! Happy new year. Wishing you and your family the best of everything in 2024🎉
Happy New Year! Please react to Dan Folgelberg’s song of the same title- same Old Lang Syne.
Yes, please listen to Dan Fogelberg's Auld Lang Syne.
😢WOW! HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🎉🥂🥳🎉✨
Have a happy, healthy, joyful 2024, y'all. Thanks for allowing us into your life this past year. Love you.

Thank you for letting us be part of your lives and for being part of ours, too.
This song holds a special place in my heart as it was one of our war cries that we would sing at school as our boys tussled it out on the rugby pitch.
TY guys for all the music in 2023 im hoping for more in 2024 ty ty and bless u and ur family/// happy new years
Thank you J. & Amber for finishing off the year with this song as your last reaction & so close to the end of the night too. ( I have just been listening to your review a few minutes past midnight & it is perfect. I have NEVER heard this song sung anywhere nearly as beautifully as this - EVER. Once again, thank-you.)
As for the 2 of you - I am sorry that I CANNOT help you by subscribing to bring you to your 500K goal - as I am ALREADY a subscriber! 😊 In fact, I have been watching this channel since it was J. alone & with Amber only making guest appearances - (& very pregnant & quite obviously feeling miserable! I would cheer when the song was one that would uplift you Amber in those days!)
I have a piece of advice that may help J. through his emotions next year (& other years) on New Year's Eve.
If the 2 of you are going to be with company on New Year's Eve, then write out your list in the last few weeks/days leading UP to New Year's & review it just before you join others that night (& possibly put it in your pocket so that you can review it - even quietly in the bathroom for a few minutes - if you start to feel upset.) You can then review it once again when you return home or when your party's over & others have returned to their own home (or called it a night at yours.)
Even though this time period is now passed by the time you read this (IF you read this), you should STILL make out a list of this sort for the upcoming year - especially if you are still feeling emotional or down at all.
Even if you still recognize that you have some losses in the past (you are going to have some new GAINS in the NEAR future.)
I hope this helps & that 2024 will be a good year for the two of you & for your family.
Happy New Year J. & Amber! (& to everyone else out there too!) 🎉
Another song to check out is Kenny Rogers “The Last Ten Years”. I tear up all the time when I hear it.
Heard them sing this in concert with no microphone it was a magical and chills yo the bone. They are amazing
