HUGE Updates Coming To New World, But the PC Community is Not Happy

- In this video I briefly go through what New World has in store for the rest of 2024, what I am most excited about and why I think they will do a better job of retaining players in October. Overall, their change of the MSQ, incorporating new, repeatable pve and pvp content, sharding the starter zones and allowing players to go to other servers instead of sitting in a queue are huge changes for the game.
The problem with all of this is that none of it is coming until October, so another 4 months of the exact same for PC players, who feel like they have been ignored this year.

You're missing th epoint in the classification of the game from an MMO-Rpg to an ARPG. MMO's typically have a steady stream of content and what all MMO players expect. ARPG's do not. They tend to not get content until HUGE updates or Paid expansions. THAT is why PC players are pissed. This is deliberate on Amazons part.
It very well could be, but that's been their content release anyway. That's why one yearly release isn't going to keep me around. I'll play it if it's fun and when it's not ill play something else. If they don't come out with new content for a while then ill just stop playing.
If they want to phase themselves out then they're welcome to do so.
That's not why PC players are pissed... these ARPG titeling is more a marketing claim than a real change. The fans are upset about all the other BS, ags pulled off

Aim assist in competitive games where other people aren't using aim assist is never a good idea.
It’s not true aim assist. It’s some sort of cursor drag mechanic, where it will automatically slow down when near enemy players. They did add auto lock for PvE though
7k hour guy here. This is where you are wrong. They have repeatedly (which you said) let down the community. They implied that this big announcement was more or less a big impact on those of us that were left and still had hope. We KNEW consul was coming. We knew about the majority of the other items as released through code sniffers. This screw you pc players announcement was THE final troll to the PC players and they did it smiling. Two years of ineptness and apologies all rushed to the surface like a bad relationship in it's final minute. Brace yourselves, a new that was not what we intended video should be coming out soon, no reach around will be provided.
AGS is now a warning to all future games to stay away from buying any product they touch.
They know they have already lost the vast majority of faith with the PC player base, so they are trying to switch over to focus on console players. They know the game has failed as a MMORPG, so they are trying to redefine it has a "single-player rpg". They know the weapon-based class system has failed, so they are trying to redefine it as an 'architype-class' system.
This all shows that they know the failed but are unwilling to go back and actually rebuild the foundations and give the players the invested in it what they actually want and were advertised. Their chose of words show they are not looking back, they are no longer concerned about the players they failed and are hoping the new console players won't know of their past mistakes. It's really bad that they are avoiding the fact and trying to still save face.
Eso was a sinking ship cos the devs were not listening, so ppl went to the new world. Now the new world is sinking ppl are jump into a game that "quite literally doesnt exists"(aoc). I'm not saying that you give bad luck to the games you play, but it is funny that it has happened twice.

Past performance is the best indicator of future performance. It is not a guarantee, but it is an indication of what is possible. You are clearly aware of their past performance. I am willing to bet they will NOT launch on Oct 15. Their Beta is going to be a disaster, and that Oct 15 will get delayed. I hope I lose that bet, but I doubt it. The team behind NW is not changing, neither will the future outcomes of the game.
Yep I do not disagree. They've messed up a lot. I did like what they did last fall though, which is the only reason I worded this video the way that I did.
DEVs have trolled PC players not once but x2 times already. There is no real long term roadmap to make New World as a playable game.
New Trailer and information always mention about SOLO Gameplay and solo players which we PC players already do solo gameplay for years lol. If solo gameplay is so important thy should remove the mmorpg part fully...
It has started to feel like thy think NW pc players as test subject for console gameplay, and new LOTR mmorpg which a similar experienced happened via Archeage 1 how thy milk players without new real content for years when Archeage 2 has announced where thy used Archeage 1 players to get funds for their new game. So, remember what thy said about new LOTR: without New World no new LOTR mmorpg.
So they are essentially holding a developing game hostage. “Better make this game profitable or you won’t get the REALLY good MMO.” Insidious and should be illegal.
PC gamers often serve as guinea pigs for the gaming industry, testing and refining games before they're deemed ready for wider audiences. However, it's PlayStation players who truly hold the power to determine a game's fate. Their feedback, investment, and passion can make or break a title, shaping its success more than any other platform. While PC may boast superiority, PlayStation will always reign as king in the gaming world.

Best to leave this game till October IMO. I also think people have no idea how much work it is porting a game to console. Also with new combat code and the infamous Azoth Engine. Lots of technical difficulties making all this go smoothly over 3 different platforms
I do have an idea how much work it is porting software to other platforms. I also know how much work it is to continue maintaining software on multiple platforms. All features take longer to implement, devs are spread thin, and compromises are made. Things aren't going to all of a sudden get better in October. If anyone is going to keep playing New World, then get used to how everything has been over the past 6+ months because that's how it'll be from here on out.

Coming from a guy that played eso on console for years, there will be a few hoops of issues they will struggle with.

I have no skin in this game, i cant stand the conquistador look or era. I honestly dont think Amazon can get it right, by what ive observed all their doing is abandoning their initial player base for another, which doesn't give much faith. Mainly, just commented for the almighty algo for ya. But i do hope that those who like this game, Amazon does fix it and they have a ton of fun.

Will existing servers receive a measurable population bump? Won't a significant number of console players create toons on the new Oct 15th fresh start servers? So then we either further spread the population out, existing players will need to re-roll and start over on the Oct 15th fresh start servers, or the existing fresh start servers will be merged (by region) in the future thus minimizing the spread of the population.
I like the idea of a console crossplay. However I personally think that the game is still in a worrisome state. Who's to say that come console launch there's still a sustainable PC community to help integrate new console players? There might be some people who return to see the state of the game but there will be people in the same boat as you "if there's not many players, I won't play the game".
I just wonder if the pc community will even stick around long enough for the console launch to even be significant, if it even will be a significant launch.
If the launch on console fails then that'll be a big setback seeing as they spent tons of resources on this while ignoring the existing community.
just wrong timing, the game needs something to keep people there endgame and then they should have went for console people. They hate their fan base apparently and won't listen to us

Are you serious ? The game loop did not get any better. PvP scaling is removed for low levels since 3rd week after launch. The game is played from MENU! like Coop game!!!
No open world content.
Chest runs is grbage exploit created by players.
World bossing is a grind and not fu nexperience., 0 reasons to do.
Gear progression is terrible, was better on launch 2021
Corrupted Portal runs are only farmed for Artifacts, they no longer offer any incentives other than that.
OPR is not MMO PvP Experience. Influence Zones is MMO PvP but offers terrible progression or 0 incentives.
Mutated Expeditions is boring after seeveral attemps. Is Linear experience, Does not offer adaptive difficulty or dynamic changing gameplay.
Monsters are copy pasted but with different textures
Grind is better/easier
MSQ is better
Performance is better
Economy is better
Content is better
Build Diversity is better
If you don't like the game that's a different story, but objectively 2024 new world shits on 2021 new world's chest and then dances around its body.

I only play console so I’m hyped. Sorry for PC players but console is nothing but hyped about this. We already got stiffed from Throne and Liberty so this is the best we could have asked for.
Until you guys realize there are countless gamebreaking bugs and major issues in the game with very very little content that is actually worthwhile doing.
I honestly just don't think there's any content. By the time this comes out it will Essentially be a content drought for almost a year.
Any returning or current player is asking, what in this for me? The answer is nothing really.
Maybe the devil is in the details. Max crafting still pretty much requires buying gold, M3s required constant gem swaps or choosing only one dungeon per week. Will the raid be a 1 per week? New zone will probably kill OPR. Are the Influence races going to be rewarding for non War Loggers? ECRs are a massive snooze fest. Gold can't really be farmed and it's a massive gate for players to get good gear, 725 with out the perks is trash.
I suppose if they fix issues like these and make cresting or trying new builds as a viable thing,maybe they announce a new weapon after October? Not sure but new players WILL decline after 3 weeks again, old players won't come back.
The game coming to console is nice b/c that means more people on the server which isn't a bad thing.
It could be huge tbh. For as upset as pc players are about nw and justifiably so...the mmorpg console players on eso and bdo are probably more annoyed. This is huge for them to finally have something new.

Console players are going to LOVE being gatekept from end game PVP and playing at a massive FPS disadvantage compared to PC players. Great idea forcing them to play with the established PC community AGS. lmfao
I don’t really understand why the game on consoles should become popular? MMOs on consoles have always been an unpopular genre. The game is marketed as an ARPG, but there are better games for the same price in this category. Most of the videos on UA-cam in the last 3 years speak in a negative way. Such marketing will not attract a large audience because the person becomes interested and goes to check the media, and then the game loses its reputation. I understand that 10k is not enough for them, but this is due to their mistakes. They don’t give anything to the community, they produce content once every six months or a year. Even the hardcore audience is tired, and for such an audience to leave, you must try very hard to kill the game.
I don't think that will matter sadly. It's amazon and they're going to pump the fuck out of their release. Quinfall was labeled as a scam back in february and people are still excited for it. The space is in a bad spot.
Players want content and as upset as the players are now, a lot will try the new content.
As a former MMORPG console player myself(ESO), I talk to a lot of people that just wish there was a different MMO to play. They like building and progressing characters, but it's basically BDO and ESO. For as much as the PC world shits on NW and justifiably so, there's some players on console that will see it as an upgrade.

The New World PC community has become a bit of an embarrassment to the gaming community. They are stuck in this state of victimhood and finding any reason to rage. They need to get outside and touch grass.
It sucks not to get content. I really get that part. I'm just surprised there's so much outrage over what was the most likely outcome.
I did see that their information release was horrific though so maybe the upset people are so mad because of how bad the information release was

@@isth3reno1else There is never enough content for these players. PvE content is rarely a self generated gameplay loop and MMOs generally struggle to maintain a PvE content loop. The PvP in New World seems to be the actual endgame content despite what the devs said about the game being PvE centric. I play both PvE and PvP. When it comes to New World PvE is boring for me. I only play it to get gear. I spend most of my time playing PvP. While I understand that some people only want to play one or the other. When I see people act like this for a game that has a less than mediocre PvE experience it is shocking. It’s like watching an addict beg for one more of the feel good substance of a drug that’s not even good and I say this out of genuine concern. Which is why I am saying people need to take a breath and touch grass. If a video game isn’t bringing you fun and joy then it’s not a game and you got bigger problems in real life.
For myself New World is fun when it is fun. I play it when I want. Outside of that if New World devs are acting up sure I get mad, but I got other games I love to play like HellDivers 2, Elden Ring, and Darktide. The New World community is acting like the devs are forcing them to only play New World. If there is no content then move to the next game. The general behavior is repulsive and I as a gamer am embarrassed.
Yeah, I agree. Last time I tried to stick it out with a game it didn't work. When New world's content got stale this time I just played other things(elden and hell divers lol).
Sometimes not playing a game is the best thing you can do for the game

However, I am hyped about this high risk PvP “lawless” zone and I bet you as a content creator may generate quite a bit of foot traffic to your channel if it turns out to be good. For now I say we let them cook.
