Clearly ancient tribes created it as a way to keep down jealous male murders. The U.S. has a huge number of three-way love triangle murders even today. It must have been massive in the earliest sapien days. Interestingly, Thais overwhelmingly never registered their marriages with any government until the White man's ways arrived with the Vietnam war.
"You don't own me" is not something a Thai woman would say. Face works both ways and to say out loud that a husband has no authority is a major red flag. Amazing that this guy was smart enough to get a lawyer to protect himself from Thai divorce laws!! Interracial marriage requires tenderness and awareness, but at the end of the day as Thai's are deed based you will know every single day if she is acting properly.
Be interested to know the age difference? She wanted to go out partying, he didnt maybe? When dating in Thailand, and any country for that matter, you should always be asking lots of questions first to make sure your lifestyles are compatible. If a girl wants to drink beer every day, I tell her theres lots of foreigners that like to drink beer everyday so go find one. As far as the money goes, not sure about "my money my rules". If your going to "take care" of a woman, any woman in any country, they of course shes going to want to spend money on things she likes. It could be partying, make up, her children etc etc. Explain your monthly living budget, take care of the bills and food etc etc, give her whatever you have both agreed on per week or month and don't ask her once what shes spending it on. The woman needs some pride and not to come crawling like a dog asking for money or explaining what shes spending it on.
Nobody EVER learns from other people's experiences. Unfortunately. Unfortunately, people think their girls are different. They are hiveminded. They aren't thinking differently.
For the prenup ( i ve looked into it a little bit), in thailand it is a contract that you need to register upon the registration of ur marriage. I think post-ups are not binding in this country. If there s a prenup upon divorce, this contract will be used to help with division of asset etc. I am a thai woman dating a foreigner, and if i were to get married, my partner and i will be signing one. Opportunistic relationships go both ways. I think it s very wise to protect oneself. Marriage is not only about love, but it is a legal partnership between two people. I dont know how all the foreign men marrying thai woman do without the legal safety. Because without this contract how could i ever be sure he s here for me and not the comfort and financial security i can provide.
Seriously ? If he has brains, I'd hate to see the rest of them. He got "married" for starters. Then he says "in the end I'm so glad I made the right decisions" LOL. Then he says "It didn't cost me a penny, but I had to give her 100,000 baht". LOL. LOL. Yeah, he has heaps of brains. LOL. I'd say she's the one with the brains.

Cut the money off. Once she don't behave she gets no money to spend. shes gets food and her room thats it. If she don;t behave after that she gets to leave the house.

Finding a GOOD and affordable lawyer in Thailand (or most anywhere)......might just be the "first problem". My two divorces were ammicable w/o a pre-nup. But the two women that I was married to were "somewhat reasonable". And, for the record......there were no kids with either of them. My son. That's another story. But wiith the second wife? Well, I kept that marriage short and bailed within 5 years. I was kind of late to notice the "red flags". Though it appears that Neil got the same sort of treatment as I did. No respect and claims of being "controlling". Really? Is it too much to ask for a bit of respect and that she come home at a "reeasonable time"? Well, what time is that? A : Certainly not, when it's consistently......at about 0200-0400 when it's suppose to be a "Girls Night Out". Or with the response of the claims that, "You are being CONTROLLING, I don't have to tell you everything". Then add, that it appears that you're no longer spending any quality time together. Yeah....EJECT!!! EJECT!!!! EJECT!!! IMHO......just Stay Single. And, be READY to walk when the conditions no longer suit YOU. Unless you're planning to have babies. But then........ Your girl will be different if you didn't get her from the bar or just a tourist location in general.
