Very nice build. However, you should put a baffle and make your pipes longer or you will loose torque and hp at the low and mid ranges. Also because of the shortness of the exhaust, your air will escape too fast causing a vacuum which will suck in more air from the back of of your exhaust causing engine breaking and loss of engine speed and back-fire at low engine speed below 6K RPM. Make your exhaust longer; a baffle also helps (it's not just for noise reduction even race machines use baffles)...
Super cool bike, one of the nicest I've seen. The race flags make no sense though, it would look much more elegant and the design would stand out so much more without them. Congrats.
You prolly dont care at all but does any of you know a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my password. I would love any tricks you can give me
@Matthew Isaias I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm trying it out atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Love your bike bud, Going to look at my First Bike tomo (1980 Z750E) and hopefully start the tear down next week... Sounds like youre a South African, If so, I live in JHB and Id love to come check her out in person and pick your brain a bit....
Hi, I'm building a cafe brat using the exact same bike and am wondering if you could give me some details on the jet sizes you used to get the engine running ok with the pod air filters on? Did you have to increase the jet sizes and if so what did you increase to and where did you get the jets from? Thanks in advance for your help.
What about the fuel tank. I'm about to start working on a kz750-r1 but I would like to change the tank with something like yours...Is it form a z1/z900?
Mines from a Z650.. the original petcock is closer to the engine, and I battle to get it into just run, so running it in prime the whole time, works fine.
That's a hard question to answer - depending on what parts you intend on buying and from where, how much work you want to do yourself, or have outsourced etc. The more you have to spend and the more time you have to put in the nicer it'll be. If its for yourself, well then go for it. If you intend on trying to build to sell, well that's a whole other story.
Thanks very much Ram SN. Yes, I do still intend on putting on the muffler (Baffle). I did say so. I'll probably post a short clip once its on. Thanks for watching.
Vanillaninja I used the main harness where I could. In hindsight I should have rewired completely. I did have to make some modifications regarding the leds. Like adding some diodes and led relays for the indicators.

You in South Africa ? I lived in Johburg (Randburg) from 74 to 89 than moved to America ...I owned the same bike .....love it :-)
How well does the led headlight work and where did you pick it up at?
Bike looks awesome btw.
Yes, it works well. Got it on ebay. Thanks.
How much does cost to turn one of these into a cafe racer? I have a 83 like new and I would like to to turn it into a racer

Nice!
Hi, did you paint the tank and the front fender?
I intended too, but decided to give them to a professional. But it's totally my design.
What size gaiters for you use and where did you buy that seat
D'z nutz I made the seat. The gators were bought from a shop that sells offroading bike apparel.
Shaun Asbury ok thanks
Shaun Asbury do you know the measurement of them
I would love to know where you got those rotors are those the stock calipers?
I had them custom laser cut especially for the bike.
If you in South Africa, the company is called ali-fab - speak to Mark.
+Shaun Asbury nice never thought about that, i was looking at ebc lite rotors but it's almost 200$ a rotor lol
+Phil Chiasson did you ever release a video with the muffler?
+Phil Chiasson, no, I probably should.. Will do.
Thank you.
What tires did you use?
Bridgestone Spitfires
Where can I get that headlight
Vanillaninja you can get it on ebay
Shaun Asbury what wiring did you cut out or modify
Vanillaninja I used the main harness where I could. In hindsight I should have rewired completely. I did have to make some modifications regarding the leds. Like adding some diodes and led relays for the indicators.
