- James Follett (born 1939 in Tolworth, England) is an author and screenwriter. Follett became a full-time fiction writer in 1976, after resigning from contract work as a technical writer for the British Ministry of Defence. He has since written over 20 novels, several television plays, and many radio dramas.

Me, too.Doesn't matter what the play is, as soon as one starts I am lulled to sleep. So a play often accompanies my breakfast as I start again, or finish it off!
Thoroughly enjoyable, and with enough twists of plot and sympathy to keep the audience guessing to the end.
This is a wonderful radio play with a surprise twist at the end. James Follett never disappoints! 😊

Wonderful production, but the high pitched mechanical sound in the background made it unlistenable. 😢. Perhaps the audio could be cleaned up more?
Yes l got that too. Had to turn the sound down in order to listen.

Synopsis: The "best and fairest judge in the country" has just sentenced a "mild-looking, bespectacled, clerical-grade civil servant type" to nine years in prison for embezzlement. The sentencing uncovers long- repressed resentments.

This is such a well written story and would have been great if it had been adapted for TV.
Please provide synopsis of the plays!!! It's so annoying not knowing what I'm about to listen to.

Some of the sound is fuzzy
Excellent play. However the judge a ND the swindler had familiar voices

Held my interest but a flat ending
Anything but. It was a well rounded ending and I am pleased the Judge and his wife lived happily ever after.
Wonderful ending that was original and supported by earlier plotline.
Plot line is so far fetched. It makes the whoke thing laughable
Sorry but the convoluted premise of the play is quite bizarre !
Characters are cardboard and the plot is for the brain dead.
Makes Jeffrey Archer seem like Tolstoy..!
