- The Doppelganger Machine by James Follett | Radio Drama
Christmas, 1933: a plane is due to fly mail from France to England. The Armstrong Whitworth Argosy takes off from Paris Orly Airport en-route to Croydon aerodrome. But their unexpected actual destination - and time-zone - astounds both the aircraft’s occupants and the authorities on the ground.

That was good.
James Follett was such a genius writer. His Earth search series, also from BBC, is one of my absolute favourites
N0T a Spoiler: so Miller is a rare name in the UK -- grain-millers had a reputation as cheats with the weights of grain received vs flour returned
Most North Americans named Miller come from German families named Müller...
There seems to be a big chunk missing.
Getting on my nerves Over and I'm out
The cat done it . Sorry
Twighlight zone rip off
What a clever story line. Really enjoyed it. Thank you.
It's remarkably quiet AW Argosy, what with it being an open cockpit large 3 engine biplane and all...
Thank very cool story ❤
Ingenious story, enjoyed that.
Count me in on the enjoyment. Terminated a bit quickly and, of course, I fell asleep three nights in a row as usual but got there in the end. Thank you.
You too, eh? Lol.
It DOES help to take one's mind off the stressors, doesn't it?!
Stress keep me aware for hours and hours, but I forget my worries when I hear such a great story!
I agree, it’s a great stress relief, we should probably form a club. 😂. This was a brilliant story, does make you think.
Worth a listen.
SIMPLY PUT .. BRILLIANT 54:18

They have lot's of doppelgangers working at Dept of Defense acconting systems in Lawrence, Indiana. Demons.
Quite a good play. Very entertaining. Thank you.
Spoiler don’t read before listening "………………..
Imagine if we lost the war I suppose by the 1970’s most people would have just get on with their lives maybe a few people plotting but I suppose you would need to accept the way things are
I’m very grateful to my grandparents generation
This is a play I heard a few times.
Now it's 3 times. !! You know the,
old saying,
If you listen to something more than two times it's one of your favorites. !!!!!
And yes it will certainly is. !!! !!! !!! !
Hello Edward my dear, nice to hear from you! Hope all is well this side of the grass? 😉
This is brilliant only half way through
Heard this one some time ago - just as good the second time around. SPOILER ALERT
time travel versus parallel universes (it's unclear which) - are parallel universes in the same timeframe???
Why
@@jamesross5328 Why what?
TWIGHLIGHT ZONE DADADADA lol good production
Nobody knows. I think it’s enough for explaining why! To stay with a time travel as explanation. Even though it doesn’t explain why hitler is president! A butterfly cause is missing- but it must have happened 😊
@@theklaus7436 Hitler winning the war would have been highly possible if a) he had not decided to take on the USSR and/or b) if the Japanese had not attacked Pearl Harbour.
