  • This week on Chronic Illness Weekly I'm super exhausted but it's Ian's birthday so we celebrate with a fun funfair at home date night. I also have my Dad & stepmum coming to visit to meet Ian in person and for me to see them for the first time since December 2019 and we host our first BBQ. I also look after a very cute pup for an afternoon to brighten your mood a little.
Chronic Illness Weekly is, you guessed it, a weekly vlog showing you my life with Chronic Illness. I share my experiences with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome ( EDS ), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome ( POTS ) and Chronic Migraine. I fight chronic pain and fatigue and many other symptoms on a daily basis but I try not to let it stop me.

I just love your weekly vlogs - they are so honest and authentic, providing a very real look at life with chronic illness and its ups and downs. Congratulations on being named to the list of best chronic illness blogs/vlogs - very well-deserved!! I loved your at-home birthday celebration - we do a lot of those! And I SO related to your visit from your dad and stepmom and the agony of not being able to get ready. We went through the same last month - first visit from my mom and her husband since Dec 2019, and they only gave us 24 hours notice! In fact, NO houseguests since then (of course), so we had to very quickly clean the house as best we could, and ... yes, you guessed it, I did way too much and crashed while they were here. At which point my mom said, "What's wrong? You didn't stay up late last night!" Yeah, 19 years of chronic illness and she still doesn't get it, so being with her is extra-wearing because of the stress. Anyway, I enjoyed the glimpse into your life and related to so much!! Hope you have a quieter, more restful week ahead :)

Jenni cariad, you’re a wonderful girlfriend. Ian understands what EDS does to you, making him one in a million, like my Martin. Hang in there and remember to ask for help when you start to struggle, so that you don’t end up in a full blown flare xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

just curious, what do you do for work besides princessing & chronically jenni? I'm unemployed for now bc the 24/7 job rn is chronic illness maintenance, but I've been considering recently what kind of work could work for me

So sorry for the late reply! I work 2 days a week for a local environmental charity as their fundraising officer so mainly working on grant applications and planning for events, I don't think I'll be able to hold down all 3 for too long but it's good to have some regular reliable income and being able to work from home for the last 18 months has really helped me with my office based job.

I've just subbed and started watching as a fellow spoonie. It seems, from what I've observed so far, that you are doing too much and it is really putting a strain on you physically and emotionally. Take care of and be kinder to yourself.

I love how honest u are about your illness. I have just had to stop work after working so long and pushing myself so hard. My body has just stopped and said no. I hope u find the balance and thank you for your vlogs. 💜
