I go Tijuana once a week and I have never had an issue. Once I drove on the fast lane/sentry lane and they gave me a verbal warning that I would be fined next time I got on that lane again!
Law Enforcement is there to do one thing -- FORCE *good* people to do things that they otherwise would NOT do. That's why they have guns and arrest powers. They do not exist to stop rapes, robberies, and murders. They couldn't stop those things anyway.
@@SD_13_ Simple solution to border issues --> Ask the American people for help. Just like we did during WW2. My grandparents voluntarily stood watch for submarines on the Texas gulf coast with the civil service. I was apart of the minutemen in Arizona and New Mexico --> It worked great. All we did was call in the border patrol and tell them where they were crossing. Imagine 10,000 sets of binoculars hanging out(for free) in RV's for two week tours of duty. We would have zero illegal immigration if they did that. No wall necessary. --> Our politicians do not want to solve the problem. They are all liars.
The fact that American politicians aren't willing to treat Latino migrants the same way Latino countries treat American migrants just shows how weak our foreign policy is
@@Bee-tj8gc You're saying they were treated this way because they're latino? I mean, it's always possible. At the end of the day, this just basically tells me they look at me as a big 'ol dollar sign and I'd never cross the US/Mexico border by car.
This is not surprising. I've flown back home and treated like a criminal by us customs just because I went abroad. They do not want ppl going out the country. All this behavior is to discourage ppl from leaving the country and also robbing ppl of large sums of money. Absolutely despicable.
Once I told some of my coworkers about my typical experiences crossing the US-Mex border. They laughed, of course it seems to me that some people are so naive about the corruption that exists on all the government institutions. I have been stereotyped frequently by police, CBP & government officials. BTW, my mid-term goal is to migrate somewhere else...
@JL they should of told you cause you are entering the country. You can be search , x rayed for any reason. They can say all green cars get x rayed, all US citizens get luggage x rayed.
Here is some advice if it ever happens to anyone. If you ever end up in a sentry lane and can't back away, just lock and abandon your car right then and there. It is far less expensive to just retrieve it from a Mexican impound company than paying 5k. It happened to me once at midnight right after i crossed the border into Tijuana. Sings were so confusing in Tijuana that i ended up in the sentry lane going back into the US and spending almost an hour of borderline wait time. Once at the border, i told the officer what happened, and he said that was my first and last warning.
@@issacespinoza5498 No there isn’t bro.. once you get in that lane there is knowhere to turn out for 2 miles… all the turnouts are blocked. I got stuck in the lane and got stopped but I didn’t have to pay a fine
I heard about this Sentry lane. If you get stuck there, you get a warning. To do it to someone who made this one mistake for the first time is criminal.
I've been going through that boarded my entire life, every year. These lanes are HORRIFIC and are almost purposefully hard to understand, even if you are Spanish speaking and reading. Every time I go back to the states, the signs are moved, entrances are moved, barriers are in different locations, and nobody is around to help until you reach the front of the line, 3 hours later. The place is a mess, almost like it's on purpose.
Basically intrapment that voters wanted at the borders. Why is this going on? Who asked for this? Who voted to up the protections at the border? All I'm saying is stop the side choosing Republican or Democrat and vote wiser on laws that are being implemented by these higher up government idiots who just want your money 💰 🤑 💸
The problem could be that if there's a place to get out of that lane, it means cutting in front of drivers who got into the correct lane and have been waiting for hours. So, you have to plan ahead
I'm dual citizen US/Canada and I've been dealing with shit like this my whole life going across the border. Plan on getting strip searched, plan on sitting in a room for hours, plan on getting your car searched, no bathrooms, no water fountain. I'm all for securing the border but FFS I'm just trying to see my grandma for Christmas.
Years ago, I lived in San Diego. Tijuana was my second home. Crossed the border MANY TIMES. I rode the city bus TO the border. Once, when I drove, I left the car on the US side. NEVER TAKE A VEHICLE OVER THE BORDER!!!!!!! You will have to walk across, believe me, much less hassle.
I'm so happy that I bought the sentri pass back in 2018. Its a life saver, you're back into the states within 10 min vs waiting 2 hours in the normal line. Best $160 I've ever spent
The whole border crossing process has become so arbitrary and high-stress over the last 20 years. I’ve only crossed into Mexico once, but I cross into Canada for vacations and weekend trips on a regular basis and each time the process gets more impersonal and paranoid. In the 90s when I was growing up I have vivid memories of border guards laying back in their chairs, feet up on the desk, taking a gander at documents and sending you on your way. Nowadays it’s so regimented, high-strung and filled with arbitrary searches, you’d think you’re crossing the Berlin Wall. I’ve read stories about people who used to walk across the Rio Grande from El Paso to shop in Juarez for the day, or the several twin towns on the Vermont/Quebec border where friends and family have been cutoff by the security theater. Our borders in North America are increasingly becoming Constitutionless, human-rights-free zones, it’s outrageous.
@@spacetoast7783 It's not just the Americans. I was held for over 8 hours by the Canadians at the border! I think they were worried about me staying there or something... Then I slept thru crossing back to the US. They didn't even wake me up to check documents...
I used the sentri lane twice within two years, and only received warnings both times. I used two different vehicles. Both intentional acts. Although on the second try, I felt like they would impound the car but it was all talk.
My fellow good Tijuanan Friend had this to say: "The really big point is that the news channel didn't verify the claims of "no signs" indicating this is the wrong lane. There are MANY signs. HUGE SIGNS! They all warn of the 5000 USD fine. The B roll of the lane isn't even the correct lane. But I've been in secondary and have been mistreated by CBP officers in the way these people describe. That's one thing I detest. Their power is unchecked and there's no transparency."
@@bacdinh9866 $5K fines occur if you commit the infraction a 2nd time. Faux News is just trying manipulate the story into a horror film for no reason. Yes, CBP treat people horribly, but for these “first time” infractions? They usually give a warning. The Tijuana subreddit is currently laughing at this report, and the “first time” infraction victims.
I literally just crossed the border last week. I crossed at around 11:30 pm, and could barely make out the signs. The issue is that many of the signs are tagged up, so you can't even tell which lane it is. I ended up in the medical transport lane, but was able to get back to El Centro and try again. I can see how you could easily get to sentri lanes or ready lanes accidentally. I literally pointed Google maps to take me to the normal crossing and it didn't get me there properly. On top of that, you have to avoid huge potholes and worry about other drivers while you are trying to concentrate on signs. It's chaotic to say the least
@@aneelmaan9074 See? That’s the point Faux News tried to avoid in order to fulfill their horror story. There are lots of opportunities to get out. Also, be wary that there are multiple signs that say which lane you’re taking. It isn’t just 1 and “you’re screwed” like the news outlet says.
@@jjwesker1061 i actually ended up reversing out of one of the lanes while on the highway. the issue is mainly that the lane starts before you are able to properly see the sign, then once you are in it, theres a concrete curb that keeps you in it. Once I actually got into the correct lane, it was very confusing, because it was literally empty, and I could see a huge line-up in the lanes to my right (ready lanes that are blocked by a chain link fence). When I got to the front, all the normal lanes were blocked off with concrete blocks and a CBP officer waved me through. I told her about how I was trying to so hard to actually get to the correct lanes, and she chuckled, and told me to find the shortest line and that I was fine. It's wild because I've driven in multiple countries (US, Canada, Mexico, Malta, Fiji, Costa Rica, Iceland, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Germany, and a few others) and this is still one of the most confusing areas I've ever been in. There are roundabouts, fly-overs, and you have to be extremely quick in changing lanes. Tijuana drivers are crazy, so you have to be quicker than them. Basically, there is very little room for error. I think really, it comes down to signage. Some signage is decent, but most signs that I saw had graffiti on them, so you could barely see if I-5 symbol. Couple that with poor street lighting, bad roads, and concrete barriers, and I can totally see why many people end up in the wrong lane.
It can be confusing to get to the 'All Traffic' lane. I once ended up on the sentri lane in otay. The officer let me in , but sent me to secondary'. There, I was retained for 2+ hours (the time I would have spent'', had I come through the 'all traffic' lane. It was a sincere mistake, after going around several times in otay. A traffic officer from mexico pointed to the road (sentri) that i needed to go through. Second time, I brought my mother deadly sick in need of immediate medical attention. I went straight tru sentri and explained my mother's situation. They asked if I needed an ambulance, and let us through. Luckily we made it to the hospital on time. We were told, had my mother arrived 30 minutes later at the hospital, she could have died. I'm definitely grateful they help us get through. One think I don't understand is why having I think 40 booths in san ysidro, and at least 30 in otay, they have to have open only one or two 'all traffic' lanes all the time.
The Mexican border crossings look like they are VERY understaffed. I always walk across and even on weekdays lines are VERY long. When you get close you can see 14 booths but only 5-4 are open at a time with the agents working very calmly. And GOD HELP YOU if they suddenly go on break! No replacement, you either wait til they come back or move to another line, but then you run the risk of that agent going on break too.
@@thefox47545 you can't even complain. I saw a lady once approaching an officer. She desperately needed to use the restroom. She was in her car with her family, and was asking if she could walk across just to use the restroom. Her family would stay in the car waiting for their turn to cross. She was welcome with a " I can let you come across, but I will arrest you. Your choice". The poor woman just walked back to her car.
The Tijuana border is insane. Yall see how it spans for literally like 20+ blocks? It's so confusing because you don't know where it ends so you can line up. My mom and I got stuck at an intersection that was being blocked by cars waiting at the Tijuana line, we couldn't u turn because of cars behind us and we couldn't go left since the intersection was blocked, so we tried to signal and cut in front of someone since that's what the cars in front of us were doing, and everyone started beeping and yelling at us. A lazy even got out and started assaulting our car. Once the car behind us moved back we reversed and sped out of there.

1. There is an exit to leave Sentri before you pull up to the booth. 2. There are signs far in advance saying you are about to get into the Sentri lane 3. There is a sign telling you about the fine if you use the lane unintentionally
I seen 100s of Caucasians getting turn around and being told to form line like everyone else. These people think they have priveledges and try skipping to the front of the line
And they would keep doing it over and over. They had them registered in the system as repeated offenders. Lol 😂 funny how they go on national news claiming victim 😂
This happened to me once on the Arizona border, it was my first time crossing on that side of the border so I wasn’t familiar with the lanes. The signs on the Mexico side are very confusing and I couldn’t get out. I did not have a sentry pass but the rest of my family did (1 out of 5, I keep getting rejected for one) We received a warning and they let us go after searching our vehicle. The border agent also informed me that the vehicle needed to be registered with sentry which we didn’t know. There’s no way to get out of the lane once you realize you are in the incorrect lane. If they want to generate revenue they should get rid of the sentry lane and create quicker toll lanes line. I’d rather pay to get on the fast lane than waste 4 hours of my life.
I bet that unlike the people who got fined you didn't try to do the same thing again after the first time. It's not about generating revenue it's about intercepting smugglers and criminal activity.

This happened to me on January 2nd as i was crossing back. Google maps sent me through this lane and i can read that its a sentri lane but there is no way to turn or go back. The officer warned me about the $5,000 fine but eventually just let me through.
I’ve been in that situation. My GPS lead me back to the border through the SENTRI lane. US. customs did detain me in my car for 3 hours but never in handcuffs. Learned my lesson and now I know my way in TJ to go on the regular lanes but better signage is definitely needed at the border.
I've been through this situation once. Customs told me since it's my first time it's a warning but next time I cross through the SENTRI lane without the pass I will pay the amount of $5000. So these people they've tried at least twice to go through that lane.
@@ingridjones7873 which is why you get warned first, you can't possibly make the same mistake multiple times and then blame others can you? If this is your 3rd time doing it then that means you think you can skip the line of everybody waiting without paying for it, over and over again.
My dad accidentally drove into the SENTRI lane because he thought that it was a faster lane, but didn't realize what it actually was. Him, my mom, my niece and I were out of our car pending a search, then warned not to go through the lane again.
I cross the border frequently and for the record there are signs that will tell you authorized "vehicles only or pay a fine". Also there is an exit on the right hand side of the two sentri lanes that you can take to leave sentri back to Tijuana. Also there are CBP agents posted before you cross the border to make sure that you have a sentri card.
That is BS, CBP agents are not allows there to help. If there were, then how did this people make it to the area they get into trouble? Also the point of return you are talking about must be way the Fk back because it is not way near the gate. Remember most of the people are following the directions from their phones.
@@adrpals2324 You are going to have to go there to see for yourself. I recommend walking, look at the exit gate and look at the CBP officers asking for the sentri cards before arriving at the inspection area. The people that got in trouble don't make any sense! Unless is a possible made up story by the press to keep americans from going into tijuana.
That’s because you are still in Mexico when you enter the Sentry lane. You are in the US until you pass the checkpoint US customs station. I fought and won on that appeal. I took photos of the poor signage in Mexico. The commissioner who heard my appeal agreed and I was refunded 2800.00.
This is true. I've been going to Mexico almost every year. The lines and roundabouts are so confusing I still can't figure them out; it's a total disaster. I usually need to get into the "Ready Lane" and some how often end up on the worst line where you spend hours because is for people that do not have the proper documentation; I always have it, but once you're in that line you're trapped.
After hearing about the warning I can tell they knew what they where doing.. they probably thought they can just say i didn't know it was an accident and get away with it again.
This has happened to a friend too. They didn’t let him go. They arrested him, put him on a bench and handcuffed him to it, forced him to call his mom at 3 am to send them $1,000 but they wanted $5,000. US CUSTOMS TREAT US CITIZENS LIKE CRIMINALS - BUT THEY LET IMMIGRANTS IN NO PROBLEM!!!!

if the app sent you threw say: a school street, a private road, or a closed street, or sketchy road with lots of potholes and cracks, etc... would you still drive through any of these roads even if the app insisted? is the app the one steering the wheel?or is the person the one deciding where to go? If something seems off why go through it? Clearly everyone is waiting in those long slow lines.. and you see this one empty juicy clean fast moving lane.. and the app is conveniently telling you " take it! take it!! " who are you to say otherwise right? even if there might be some signs posted, or might have previous experience with this lane, oh well its just your luck after all i bet... everyone whos trying to probably cross over to the other side and are probably all waiting in those bing slow lines is because they want to. YOU CLEARLY knew that line might be for something special or something else... but an app was telling you to go into it and the only other alternative was waiting in those massive long lines.... YOU BET THAT 5000... fine is warranted.. if everyone drove through that lane and used tht same excuse... what would even be the point of that lane? it would probably just move as slow as the other ones. @@chavtube74 I got a warning for it in 2019 as well. The thing I hate is that I realized my mistake seconds after I drove past the sign lol but it was already too late. They only fine people who have priors, meaning who have previously attempted to cross through sentry. This must have been their second time trying to cross. I speak from experience and was given a written warning. These people are definitely lying on camera. It’s common sense when you cross the border and put your home address in your maps to go back home, definitely it won’t take 15-20 minutes to cross in the ready or general traffic lanes.
Probably. I did this at the Canadian border and although they were pissed, they didn't fine me and no written warning. I'm going to make extra sure it doesn't happen again because I can assume that I'm going to get slapped with a nasty fine.

I’d like to share my story. I am an American citizen whom frequently crosses the border quite often well over 10 years now. My Mexican friend whom owns properties and business, also Born and raised in Mexico. We accidentally ended up lost on that confusing lane somehow. The signs are not clear, non existent and in poor shape for clear view. Honest To God I’ve never seen such disarray! We were pulled over to search her vehicle and warning us both that if we ever come through that lane even accidentally we will be 5,000 each! It scared even her. This matter is a FACT! Beware!
B.S. I live there and they ( us citizens who live in L.A. county), often cross to Mexico to visit family or to party. There are plenty of signs telling the driver not to use the sentry line if they don't have it, or they will be fined 5k. They play dumb because they don't want to pay. Sentry IS 10× faster than regular lanes. Usually, when you travel, you research how to do it and have the proper documents. They just cut the line and got caught.
I tend to agree with you and they blame their GPS. They ignored the posted signs because they did not want to wait with the "regular" people. This is just an issue of not wanting to follow the rules and being outraged that someone held them accountable.
exactly. it was my first time and I had no problem reading the stupid signs. SENTRY LANE , DON'T GO HERE IF YOU DON'T HAVE A PASS... ok, no problemo. What the heck were these people on?
This is why i already have sentri, because my uncle told me to apply for it. Luckily, I’ve never had a problem to cross the border myself both from Mexico to U.S. I’m very happy to have Sentri to cross the border in less than 10 minutes. Tijuana will always be my family’s city because it’s my grandma and uncle’s hometown.
We already know not to use that lane unless we pay for access. These people wanted to cross quick and pull a fast one and now want to get out of paying fees but should pay the price for breaking the rules.
The gps actually takes you in that lane. This happened to me too!! And some guy offered us to move the bricks so we can get out of the lane and they wanted to charge us: and some guy came supposedly he was a cop and he wanted us to pay him if not we were going to be fined and I was going to get a ticket: and I told him that it was a scammed so I went through it anyway. But thank God the agent was understanding and gave us a “warning” but it was soo scary and stressful.
One time I accidentally got in that lane when using driving directions in Tijuana. Somehow I was able to turn and get out of it before the entrance so I got lucky. This is a serious problem and should have more warning signs and have a way for people to get out who accidentally drive in there.
After my dad passed away 15 yrs ago, I picked up his personal belongings from his home down there and haven’t been back - simple solution: don’t visit Mexico
There’s a big sign saying that you will be fined if entered in sentri line. Even if you follow whatever app you’re following, there are signs that warn you.
I’ve been crossing the San Ysidro and Otay border for 30 years and never had an issue. Common sense will tell and show you if you are passing everyone waiting in line , you are probably in the wrong lane. It’s people who feel entitled or just don’t want to wait with the rest of us. Wait in line and get some churros and buy some souvenirs like everyone else. I call bull$&@!!

I’ve unintentionally gone through the lane and there’s signs and an exit that allowed us to get out and return to the ready lane. It’s an innocent mistake until you pass the exit which has signs and the Mexican police allow drivers through the lane exit.
This literally just happened to me in May. Same exact thing happened to me. My GPS took me to the Sentri Lane and it was my first time crossing the land border on my own. The agent was so rude and kept threatening me with fines and detaining me even though I explained what happened. Looks like it’s still happening.
That shit was crazy !!! 1. Because it was a Saturday, 2 Because the cops in TJ had diverted traffic. And would hold up traffic, then release it. And 3 because we hit a normal lane... we could've done Ready Lane 👎🏾 Never again

But there’s an opening now for people to pull out just in case. I’ve seen in many times. It’s been like that for about a year now. I think they also give you a warning the first time. I think some of these people do it more than once thinking they can get away with it. There’s a big sign before entering the sentri.
couple years ago when I went through sentri by accident, the designated lane exit was blocked... (I would have taken it because I realized my mistake right after passing the sign). I did get a warning and will not make that mistake again.
My sister and her friends as teens crossed into Montamores on spring break and before they crossed back as they were crossing the bridge, 2 cops shook them down, took all their money, all their jewelry etc and she called me from the payphone across the border sobbing that the cops had robbed them and they had no money for gas to go home or get food etc. They got enough gas money to make the drive home but it scared them real bad.
Get a good shyster lawyer and sue the cops at the border patról .it's not a guarantee they'll lose their Jobs and face jailtime. But it's well worth a try.
The reason they got a fine is because they have crossed through the sentri line before, the first time they give you a warning and tag your car in case you think you can cross faster again.
Folks who aren't qualified to be in Sentri lanes always try to sneak in to those lanes to dramatically shorten their wait time. That is an offense rightfully punishable by a sizeable fine for security reasons. So no tears for them. I wish that Americans who cross back into the US without passports (a law that has been in effect for more than a decade) would also be fined for flaunting regulations. Their presence contributes mightily to the hours long wait to re-enter the US. Without passports it takes longer for the agents to verify the identities of these people. Holds up the line. It inconveniences those of us who have complied with the law since Day 1. Smack them with fines in the neighborhood of $500 and watch how quickly these scofflaws apply for a passport.
Totally agree!!! Have been crossing the border my whole life and pisses me off to see ghetto ass people handing "birth certificates" to the migras and they take forever to verify them. Fuckers need to get their passport and/or passport card as required by law. They don't because they feel entitled and want to cheat the process/system.
All the times I've crossed the border and thankfully I've never accidentally gotten stuck in this lane. I've been pulled over by the police and had my wallet emptied out but everyone knows not to carry all your money in your wallet ... But this is insane. I'm sorry this happened to these people.
I'll be honest, though: For those of us who do have the Sentri card it is VERY annoying when the ones who don't have it get in OUR lane. I know it wasn't intentional but we have to go through such an ordeal to get it. It's a luxury to have it but having said all that I will say, then that there should be a way to exit it just in case you do go into this lane. We don't want to wait just because of their mistake.

Once you're approved, you can add more cars registered to you, there is a fee for each additional vehicle.
Man that happened to me too. They made me sign a paper saying next time I get into the sentence lane I will have to pay $5000. That was my second time getting into the lane. So in other words, not once but twice you used the single open lane with very little traffic in it, got a warning both times because of GPS, and still can't figure out that the other lanes packed full of cars that you avoided twice now, are the lanes you are supposed to use? Smells like entitlement to me.
@Din djarin lol. It's so confusing and I don't blame them since it was the second time and let me off with a warning, however there is no little traffic at all on that lane it just moves a little faster I guess. And the thing is that once u get into that lane there is no way for you to get out

These people probably got into the sentry lane thinking they could cut the line and got caught. There are plenty of signs saying that lane is sentry only. Follow the rules or face the consequences.
They have signs that clearly state the price you have to pay if you come through the wrong line. There are so many shady people out here that come through the sentri line on purpose, then lie and say they didn't know! They mess it up for others!!
I saw another report where people who accidentally got into this lane tried to back out in reverse and got into nasty accidents. The advice in that thread was to srop and call 911. Of course that will cause a nasty traffic jam. What is the right action... no idea. But after seeing this report about fines I am certain that many more will simply back out and pray that there will be no accident. I don't know if it is possible but perhaps it is time for a class action lawsuit to force the redesign of that express lane so that there is an exit back to Mexico just before reaching the checkpoint.
That's the problem the GPS navigation literally automatically puts you in the wrong lane and there's no place to turn around, and the road signs are super confusing, and they are posted too close to where you need to give you time to get in the right lane. There should more signs posted further away, giving you time to be in the proper lane. It's extremely important and they need to fix it ASAP.
A professor at one of my college classes brought in a guest who was a high level official at the Mexican border. He said when you are crossing the border, you have no rights. Otherwise if you find the right a$$hole then they will do whatever they want.

This is the world Americans begged for, and a ton of them still think it's too lenient.

Why are you going in the short line? Come on now
First time you get a warning, second time you get fined.
I used the sentri lane twice within two years, and only received warnings both times. I used two different vehicles. Both intentional acts. Although on the second try, I felt like they would impound the car but it was all talk.
My fellow good Tijuanan Friend had this to say:
"The really big point is that the news channel didn't verify the claims of "no signs" indicating this is the wrong lane.
Why 5000 dollar fine?

I have been through that lane and I went through a round about to return back to the general entry lane. These people were being impatient and trying to cut line, I've seen it many times.
That is a lie, they will fine you if they have records of you going through that lane more than 2x. You get away with it once but not twise
Yup you're right
@@chavtube74 I got a warning for it in 2019 as well. The thing I hate is that I realized my mistake seconds after I drove past the sign lol but it was already too late. I went to Mexico recently and returned through Tecate to not deal with the headache. I don't think I will drive in Baja again though.
Yeah, they usually give you a fair warning
Twise?
The fines just apply to repeat offenders. It is a fair fine to prevent people from cutting in the line. I bet they will pay more attention next time.
That happened to me in 2010 me and my friend weren't threaten with fines, just a warning.
This happened to me 1x and they warned me, but let me go. I was scared to death and so stressed out passing the border
We call them "gandallas"..of course was not their first time on sentry lane...if they make it safe the first time..they think the ones waiting hrs was the dumb people because they now know a short cut😂...I'm so happy they was charged 5k..next time wait the 3 hrs on the sloooow lane ok.
This is true. First time I went to Mexico I got send to the sentry lane cause google maps was giving me faster directions. I crossed thru the sentry lane and was given a warning. The officer was like yeah I’ll let u in but your in the system now next time it will be a $5,000 fine.
These mofos will forcibly try to cut in front of other drivers and will get mad if you don't 😅👍
Facts
Same folks cut in line entering the US too. 😂
exactly. it was my first time and I had no problem reading the stupid signs.
I don't believe their excuse, I'll bet this is not their first trip back from Mexico.
That shortcut cost them
Exactly they thought they could do it again.
A bunch of idiots they know better I've been down there plenty of times you know the century lane they didn't not want to wait like everybody else
@Peter Peter you know your wrong they tried cutting in line and paid the price.
Exactly they need to be more strict up here people jump in-and-out of the car pool lane.
Lol I’ve crossed tJ so many times and still can’t get on the right lane. TJ is a mess!
Same for me. I get lost everytime.i have been crossing like 25 times.
We already know not to use that lane unless we pay for access. These people wanted to cross quick and pull a fast one and now want to get out of paying fees but should pay the price for breaking the rules.
$500 ?
That's a lie
The big guy sure taught them well, didn't he? Remember, corruption starts from the top.
That is the only warning you get and all your passengers. Now if any of you makes a mistake again, it will cost you $5000.
Buy the sentri pass $122 works for 5 years and would save you 4878 dollars a year
One time I accidentally got in that lane when using driving directions in Tijuana. Somehow I was able to turn and get out of it before the entrance so I got lucky. This is a serious problem and should have more warning signs and have a way for people to get out who accidentally drive in there.
These people knew what they were doing. It's not their first offense. Stop playing victim
After my dad passed away 15 yrs ago, I picked up his personal belongings from his home down there and haven’t been back - simple solution: don’t visit Mexico
Cancelling trip thank you 🙏🏽

There’s a big sign saying that you will be fined if entered in sentri line. Even if you follow whatever app you’re following, there are signs that warn you.
People want to believe their GPS instead of a sign. "But it (GPS) told us to do that!"
EXACTLY!! READ THE SIGNS..
people see the long lines of casr and take a chance and the fine will stop the abuse theres google look for informacion maps dont just trust gps
im sure officers hate when see people trying to get like sorry we did not know people need to know that sentry you have to interview and backgroung checks its like im sorry officer i dint know this people were inmy trunk lol its that ilegal to gives a ride? 🤣🤣 go walk look things around while someone drives the car have a michelada lol
Lawsuit lawsuit lawsuit !!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow! It's good to let people know about it.
That lane is for local daily crossings. Signs are posted in English & Spanish. If you're in a hurry to cross use a bicycle or motorcycle.
You got it.
I’ve unintentionally gone through the lane and there’s signs and an exit that allowed us to get out and return to the ready lane. It’s an innocent mistake until you pass the exit which has signs and the Mexican police allow drivers through the lane exit.
If is your first offense they let you go, but if is your second time on the sentri you will get fined. Pretty simple
This literally just happened to me in May. Same exact thing happened to me. My GPS took me to the Sentri Lane and it was my first time crossing the land border on my own. The agent was so rude and kept threatening me with fines and detaining me even though I explained what happened. Looks like it’s still happening.
We did 7 hours of border wait in TJ coming back to San Diego. I totally understand how easy it is to get in the wrong lane.
7 hours why so long
Doesn't that make it obvious that the lane is special? Otherwise everyone would use it.
That shit was crazy !!! 1. Because it was a Saturday, 2 Because the cops in TJ had diverted traffic. And would hold up traffic, then release it. And 3 because we hit a normal lane... we could've done Ready Lane 👎🏾
Never again

But there’s an opening now for people to pull out just in case. I’ve seen in many times. It’s been like that for about a year now. I think they also give you a warning the first time. I think some of these people do it more than once thinking they can get away with it. There’s a big sign before entering the sentri.
couple years ago when I went through sentri by accident, the designated lane exit was blocked... (I would have taken it because I realized my mistake right after passing the sign). I did get a warning and will not make that mistake again.
It's true I go often follow the sings asks locals or officials to make sure I'm in the right lane and never do I have a problem they are liers.
@@edyann completely valid point.

I've had the opposite problem twice. I have Sentri, but the markings are so confusing I couldn't find the Sentri Lane! The navigation apps are worthless here too! Two Governments and neither is interested in resolving this issue but they complain about drugs at the border. Agents are too busy with their "shakedowns" to be catching criminals!
Yes I agree…..it’s easier to shakedown citizens, than to catch real criminals!
This happened to my friend and I about 10 years ago. Luckily, they only held us for less than an hour, and then released us without paying anything. But it certainly is a very confusing lane that GPS takes you through.
Word of advice... learn how travel make plans and stop listening to Google maps
I have been in this exact situation. They had me sweating balls asking me why I drove in this lane. Too bad I had no money. Too bad for them. They let me go with some threats..
Did they body search you for money? They just let you go like that?
@@superduperboyx nahh they had me wait for a few hrs. Confiscated my car, and searched it while I watched.
I did this going into Canada and after some condescending dialog from them they let me go without a fine. Believe it or not in my experience the Canadian border is more strict then the Mexican border so this is surprising. So yes, likely generating revenue, CBP is very understaffed at the Mexican crossing.
not even that i got several friends who are in CBP and no one wants to get stationed at the border cause of curruption
This wasn't the first time these people pulled this stunt
@@eduardorivera7723 What kind of corruption because my friend has a theory. When we were going through El Paso he noticed that ALL of the CBP agents were Hispanic. The Canadian Border is more strict but the Mexican American Border is more corrupt. Not the same. 2 completely different situations.
@@CR-uw8kv I've crossed Canadian border 7 times before, Canadian border guards are more strict they ask more questions at the border, U.S. border guards are less strict they ask less questions about anything

We live in a disgusting world. We are lost as a society. People of the future will mock these times.
What a disgrace they know if someone has done that previously I would understand in that scenario but if it's a first time then cut them some slack.
There’s people at the car borderlines that direct cars to that lane, but never warn of the consequences. People just see an open lane up to the front of the line smh 🤦♂️
Yup it’s a set up lol
Get in the long line.
Report said all first time passengers get a warning flag and if 1 of the passengers tries to cross again everyone in the car gets fined big time.
This is a fake propaganda video, for one thing you dont hear or see the border patrol just, the only thing people see is the patch that says U.S. border patrol, for another thing if it was true this would be all over the news.

And once u drive in the wrong lane you can't get out.
They seen it was backed up and took a chance to see if it would work.....and when it didn't they tried to poor me I wanted to turn around bit. Border patrol is like you dummy. It’s funny how they messed up and then say how it’s not their fault. Drive the right lane or pay for it.

Do you need to pay extra to register a car to your pass?
They didn't want to wait or pay.
@@mgtowski395 It's called Google.
@@mgtowski395 Yes. When you apply for Sentri, you don't have to register a car for it, since you can use it to cross only through the pedestrian crossing, but you can add one car automatically during the initial process. Once you're approved, you can add more cars registered to you, there is a fee for each additional vehicle.
Just another way to line their pockets!!!
Man that happened to me too. They made me sign a paper saying next time I get into the sentence lane I will have to pay $5000.
That was my second time getting into the lane. I told the officer it was very confusing and that I did not do it onn purpose. She told me bot to come back to Mexico anymore then if I did not know how to read signs🙄
Is it 5,000 or 500? I keep seeing different things

Really, they can appeal on media but they do not know how to read but plead ignorant to expedite getting home.
Note to tourists, ask the locals when having questions about anything.
Or how about you have Border Agents not be corrupt?
The same thing happened to me.
I had a diabetic attack while in their custody, and they didn't do anything
Damn I just went through this!!!! I was shocked when the officer told me this being with my daughter and wife thinking I was doing everything correctly I don’t know where I went wrong
“We didn’t do anything wrong but get in the wrong lane.”😂😂😂
They don't charge the fines the first time. They give a warning and the sentri lane is out of the way.
These people probably got into the sentry lane thinking they could cut the line and got caught. There are plenty of signs saying that lane is sentry only. Follow the rules or face the consequences.
I ended up in that lane once. Once you’re in YOU CANNOT GET OUT!!! luckily they just gave me a warning. They need to fix that’s seems intentional.
I’ve been treated like garbage and one time my girlfriend was questioned to no reasonable end.
Just comply, don’t be disrespectful, and be patient. Otherwise if you find the right a$$hole then they will do whatever they want.
The individuals in the beginning of this video are the type who will forcibly cut in front of you at the ready lane.
They violated the law. So what they're really claiming is they did not know the law. We are presumed to know the law. Anyone who's traveling international should know the rules about leaving and coming back into the countries that you go to. This is really a tax for stupidity.
Not really, it's just basic corruption hungry for revenue. Don't try to blame the common people.
I willing to bet that these people who went thru the century lane were just trying to bypass the long lines and ultimately paided the price. Next time wait in line for 5-6 hours like the rest of us have to.
