Hi Camilo ! Yeah, you might be in 5K resolution, then it doesn't offer it. Or if you set a higher frame rate, like 60fps or 120fps, also won't have tracking features !
Hi Pedro !! hahahaha so it means it was good for my watch time on the channel, but I'll tune it down a bit, many people commenting the pace is a bit too fast :) Glad it helped !!
In the first active track option, how can i specify the distance between the moving subject and the drone ? Coz i notice the drone is always faaar away from the moving object...
Hi Marty! I don't know about it, you can try maybe the DJI forum, they might have the answer already there or probably someone from their team might be able to adress this issue!
Thanks a lot for watching !! Maaannnnn, it was just a trip, but I'm ready to move there! hahahahaha And actually, not expensive at all, Greece is much more affordable than most of the rest of europe and that island wasn't very touristic. If it was a Santorini or Mykonos it would be totally another story :p
Great video!!! I have just bought my DJI mini 2 drone and I had very little idea about active tracking function. Thank you so much Enri. Keep up the great work.
Great video and information, but the music background was so loud it often made your dialogue too difficult to hear. Would you consider making another version without all the background music.
Hi, i have seen a lot of videos with Active Track. But I did not find one about my next question. Suppose you are in the air with Active Track enabled. The camera is focussing at a railway track. You choose a spot on that track en draw a rectangle / square. You wait till a steamtrain approachs and dips into the rectangle / square. Then you start recording. Will the Air 2S follows that train automaticity? I am curious.
Hi ! I don't think so, it will understand the contrast of the image and what you tried to select, and it will be like a person going behind a tree, but in this case the "tree" is coming in front of the subject, the track. It will try its best to keep focusing on the track. To follow the train you're better off looking at it in the distance, and try to activate tracking as soon as possible. When it's too far also it doesn't grab it very efficiently.
If it's moving fast you'd better have a good contrast between the subject and the background, if so it will manage to keep up ! Apart from that you can pick whichever works best for the situation !
Great video man!😀 I think I enjoyed the active track feature on the original DJI mavic air more. Especially di POI because you could just tap the screen and the drone would fly forward or sideways. Now you just get the rotation :/
How good is the Air2s for posting on social media - vertical videos cropped from the standard 16:9? Or it would be a better choice to get the Mini 3 pro? Thanks.
It looks awesome cropped, not a problem at all if you do at least 4K ! If you want a bit more room, you can also shoot 5,2K but in that case you can't use some of the camera movement assistance tools!
If I understand correctly, to active track a subject, you highlight the person or object and must use the controller to follow? For example, if I am tracking / filming a person on a dirt jump bike, since they don't have the controller, the Air 2S will only position the camera view on the subject but not actually track or follow them?
Hi dear ! Depends on the mode, in the Active Tracking it will follow and you don't need to control anything ! It's perfect so that it does a better job on keeping up with it in a much easier way, and even better if you're filming yourself, and don't want to mess with the control :D
If you mean to orbit a bigger circle or smaller then it's all about the right distance to the subject :) It will keep the distance and circle around it :)
Hi Hanif!! It works, but you can't really be sure if it will be paying attention as it doesn't have sensors on the sides, so it's a bit sketchy to trust it to avoid all kinds of stuff in the middle of the way, haahahaha And yeah, it works with all modes perfectly, better choose according to the type of movement you'd like :D Thanks for watching !!
Hey Mate, Thanks for the easy video. Brand new to drone flying and still very very nervous. I have taken the drone out twice and just trusted RTH function. Your video has shown me how to use active or as we know it in Australia as "follow me" mode. So out i go again to a large open space to try out. Thanks from Perth Australia.
Hey Tim!! Good to hear it helped somehow! Just trust it, and get those hours of flight time, you'll be more relaxed every time about it, and will fly better and better! Also you're starting out with a powerful drone, that will disconnect very rarely and that can handle a lot of wind and stuff :) Enjoy!
Greetings my friend. Did something happen with the Air 2s? I haven't flown in a while and noticed the change with my DJI Fly app. I don't have all the functions that I used to. I accidentally purchased another DJI app, but cancelled it. Please tell me what's going on with it. I couldn't zoom with the DJI Fly app the other day and of course as I mentioned, the functions are gone. Do I need to actually buy a new app now? Kind regards and Thanks in advance for any response.
They are not easy! But the trick really is that the closest you get to it the easier it is to recognize and track! Also if you keep a simple background it's also more efficient !
@@FlyEnri thank you, what mode should I set my drone to in order to track it? And what is the maximum resolution I can record on when I’m in that mode?
You don't need it, you can consider it like someone else flying it for you, but instead of them controlling it manually, they are letting the drone do it for ya. The only drawback in your case is that obviously if you need to adjust it you won't be able to. Also that's not very legal I guess, hahahaha I'd leave the controller at some friend's reach if possible to guarantee they can act in case the drone goes wild :p
Great video! I want to use it skateboarding, but worry about power lines and trees along every single road here I’ve had the Air2S for a while and haven’t even seen how to get to this mode
I wouldn't be very comfortable also if flying below their level. But if you go above their height you can be super relaxed it won't do anything crazy. And you would get sick shots for sure !!
I have a question. I recorded live track videos (I pressed "go" then did whatever I am recording then pressed "stop"). However nothing got saved on my drone. as if it just did follow me but no video recording of it. is there an extra step. I lost important photoges cz I thought I was recording the whole time. I tried using an sd card reader, and then I also tried connecting my DJI air 2s directly to my laptop. everything that I recorded in the video tab is there and even photos. but nothing was saaved/recorded when I did active track.
That's quite strange! Well, apart from enabling the recording, there's nothing else you should do, and the files should be there. I would recommend checking the internal storage, but you've done it already so it doesn't make much sense... Maybe was it really just lack of pressing record ?
Hi . I have problem with active track. Try mark objects but most of the times I can’t do it, instead of marking objects I changing brightness of the screen. How can go about this?
Hi John! Oh, you mean when you're trying to create the square around something? Maybe you got some shortcut configured? It's the brightness of the screen, meaning the brightness of the phone overall, or the exposure settings on the drone? It might be something from the system settings, not even related to the DJI Fly!
@@FlyEnri Hi. I see yellow square and small sunshine on the middle of the screen . This is definitely related to Dji Fly. Just wondering how to remove this yellow square, probably this is causing all the problem
Hi! Active Tracking requires more processing power and it's not available when you set 5.4k as resolution and in some fps modes. The same happens with normal cameras, that can't use certain types of autofocus for example when in high fps modes or that can't record audio at the same time.
When I try active track it keeps telling me I am in the wrong recording mode. I normally shoot 4K/60, but I changed it to 1080/60 and that didn’t work. Yeah !! Been there ?!
@@FlyEnri So many times, almost crashed my drone on its tower :)
active track on the air 2s works on 4k 30fps and lower, and not in 5k.
That’s what brought me here
Exactly, it's the drawback of having some more room and resolution :p
Excellent tutorials and amazing flying viwes. Thanks for sharing!

Hi
why Active track not work in 60fps
Hi! Active Tracking requires more processing power and it's not available when you set 5.4k as resolution and in some fps modes. The same happens with normal cameras, that can't use certain types of autofocus for example when in high fps modes or that can't record audio at the same time.

If you're in 5K it doesn't work, maybe that ?
When I try active track it keeps telling me I am in the wrong recording mode. I normally shoot 4K/60, but I changed it to 1080/60 and that didn’t work. I changed it from D-Log to normal and that didn’t work. I changed it from PRO to AUTO and that didn’t work.
So what recording mode works with Active Track?
I'll check the modes available to be precise, but definitely 4K 25 and 1080 25 should work, even with Dlog and Auto.
