Card Review | Hearthstone | Perils in Paradise Mini-Set Card Review #3
It should have been called Puddle Up, so at least wed get a pun out of it
I just want to play the 10 cost Coin
True powermove turn ten: Play a 10 mana coin + coin from the start of the game + hero power face = end turn.
Definitely should be an achievement.
Kind of a weird wolf face, and that is saying something
She has a 2 coins and pyroblast/tsunami in hand and is very happy.
Nightmare material
Yeah i think she is undead.
a gnoll maybe?
I don't think you need to run low-end spells to utilize Skyla. There is the Metal Detector mentioned, Greedy Partner, Wandmaker, Mixologist, the 3-mana location that discovers cheap spells. I can see a new deck list popping out that runs Skyla with low cost spells and runs stuff like Oh, Manager! but I also see her fitting fine in the current Big Spell lists. Of course, her working fine in Big Spell isn't going to put that deck over the hump like was said.
Huddle Up looks like the worst card I've seen in a long, long time. Crazy that being a Mage card and being Naga is so much worse that being two mana cheaper than The Scourge (and not a legendary!).
Strongly agree
I "love" how rogue cards this expansion aren't designed to be played in rogue.
Happens a lot. Imagine if warrior had shadowstep or mage having prep.
Really, the weapon buff card and academic espionage Mk. 2 aren’t designed for Rogue? Are Tess and Spectral cutlass getting removed before the mini-set releases?
@xandero8444 Oh yeah, the super-duper-mega powerful academic espionage that no class want ever and ever put in his deck. Spectral cutness (neither played) doesn't need an integrity buff, but the 4 mana spell is still a good buff for others weapons. I was talking about pl, a lot of cards, in this expansion, are performing a lot better in mage or paladin. 4 mana recast tsunami lol
@@Ggg6vcyyfryruuuf There is a difference between “being a strong card for rogue” and “being designed for rogue”. New espionage is going to see no play outside of people memeing around, but the card still fits right into rogue’s wheel house design-wise. Same with the weapon buff. If you want to complain about the strength of the cards, feel free to do so, but saying that they’re “not designed for rogue” is frankly ridiculous.
@@xandero8444 4 mana recast a NON-ROGUE card the text Is self explanatory.
Tired: extra Keyboard charges
Wired: extra Wisdomball charges
"Don't use your head, use mine! ...two more times! :D" -Khadgar, probably
9:17 Hey I'm one of those people! way to call me out man xD
Horn of the Windlord with sharp shipment seemed strong considering it already needs a set up turn usually for lethal
I will say the same thing I did on Zeddy's video. With how disgusting Druid and Warrior has been, I don't care if other classes have broken cards. They deserve it
Yeah sure but cards are shit not.near power level for druid
i can see Sons of Hodir calling 75% of their 8/8 Giant friends when they find their Robocaller.
Don't think I'll run Skyla just so I don't have to look at that face mg
That exact scenario with the metal detector and coins into Portalmancer happened to me today on launch day and was actually pretty brutal. I could see it being a decent deck.
One thing I can say, as someone who can normally save up enough gold to buy the miniset but not to buy masses of packs, it'll be nice to actually experience the Tourist mechanic. I see all the players I'm playing against bust out these crazy dual class decks, but since the legendaries I happened to pull from the track and the ten pack guarantee weren't tourists, I haven't been able to try out the main mechanic of the set at all (other than experience it being used to beat me).
Sharp Shipment seems interesting, especially since Rogue already has a 3 mana 3/3 pirate that sets your weapon to 3/3
5/4 dagger on turn 4. Tyrion crying himself to sleep.
I play Big Spell mage, and yeah that Coin + Skyla combo isn't going to happen most of the time. Even King Tide on 4 into big spell isn't too common because there are less big spells than everything else you have to put in your deck, especially in standard. That being said, Skyla is good inclusion because the rest of the deck (at least mine) is spell generation, since the big spell synergy is with spells in your deck for the most part.
King tide is a one two punch, paying mana over two turns.
Skycoin is much faster.
@@meanberryy That's the best case scenario, I'm talking about what will actually happen most of the time
I have played a big of big spell mage and honestly, having a small spell to swap costs with would basically never be an actual problem. You generally rely on generation cards to survive the early game anyway, so you will always have some 3 or less cost spell in hand to swap with. Of course that is not on the level of swapping cost with a coin, but it is still extremely powerful. With access to all the additional power from rogue, it might actually be a significant upgrade for the deck
Robocaller is a very strong tutor card. You have a specific card you need, don’t play other card of that mana cost, as som as that number pops up on Robocaller the draw is guarenteed.
use kingtide like a budget lotheb into aggro/ midrange. can shutout the coin very if timed and limit to one spell per turn, regardless of it's power level
Sharp Shipment with Cosmic Keyboard is terrible, it would essentially turn into a 4 mana 4/4 with the text, add 1 durability to your weapon, that is simply too weak for a 2 card combo.
Robocalled might not be great, but it's definitely one of the cooler designs. Rewards having good knowledge of your deck. I think it's better than a regular draw spell that can get you anything, while the Robocaller can potentially get you something specific you need.
I think the new big spell mage will work. It will be a scam deck that hits big high rolls and bad low rolls, but that can add up to a good deck.
Use Agency Espionage and then Burndown. They cost 1, so easy to play before they burn and you shuffle through your deck more quickly.
Regis. Academic Espionage is my favorite card in all of Hearthstone. Agency Espionage has me unreasonably excited and it will be in every deck I play until it rotates, at which point it will then enter my only Wild deck, an Academic Espionage/Tess deck.
Also can't wait to be hit by another new Sonya OTK with Sharp Shipment :)
Agency Espionage would have been at least a consideration if it had "then draw a card" after it. As a rare "I just need a board clear!"
Swapping coin with sunset volley would be 5 mana 4/5 deal 10 damage randomly split among all enemies and summon a 10-cost minion sounds awesome!
Sharp shipment is just going to make flood or handbuff paladin way better. 4 lifesteal and 5 charges.
I think this is the first mini set I won't be buying. Haven't seen a single card yet that's worthwhile.
Rogue has so much draw nowadays that Agency Espionage cooooouuuuld maybe work if you just fill your deck with draw & Gaslight Gatekeepers
Why is the HS team's solution to 10 mana being a lot to spend on a card to just cheat mana?
Robo caller might be good if you specifically want to be able to tutor 8 drops since it always starts on that number.
Hear me out:
Super light rogue deck with lots of draw, based around knick knack shack. Also has the location giant? the idea is to play agency espionage and then draw a ton of shit at once. plus stuff like oh, manager maybe to get coins, to keep the chain going? a madman would deign to include 1 scrapbook student
Alright, deck intro time. And this time, we’re thinking with portals.
Not me getting distracted by regis tracing the weapons on sharp shipment
I think Skyla can still work with the older set by only putting big spells in your deck and just adding some coins-finding cards around. Huddle Up sucks it seems…
Could add one or both of the 2 mana "gain a coin" minions to utilize Skyla as well
>last legendary
Whoa Priest really isn't getting any tools this set beyond Rest In Peace, huh.
Skyla may be good in a miracle coin rogue with the high cost mage spells. You could also run Marin to turn those 9 & 10 cost coins into random legendaries so they're not just useless. Meta deck? Most likely not; A fun deck? most likely. Sharp Shipment just seems like trash for 4 mana, I dont even think it would be played for 3.
Im sorry, the Cosmic Keyboard is not a reason to run Sharp Shipment in Rogue. It basically becomes a clunkier Air Guitarist.
Shame Espionage doesn’t shuffle cards that cost 5 or more from other classes. Might have helped.
Skyla should've been the Diamond for the set, no particular reason why
Mark my words: I will make Big Spell Mage work, and you'll see it soon.
Mage legendary with cards which give you cheap spells? The 3 drop gives you 1 cost kazakus spell or 2 drop giving you a 1 cost spell
Above all: What I find pretty annoying is having that stupid 10-mana coin spell in hand for the rest of the entire game 😅
Yeah the Naga one I dont get. 5 Mana would stretch it for this effect but 7? Maybe if they add the bonus line that it trigger all the Battlecryes of the summond Nagas. Still meh since a lot of them are spell dependen while in hand but at least some what better.
You've created a false dicothomy.
You say you can't run the big spell package so you have to play rogue cards instead, such as metal detector.
You can do both. Big spell package, no small spells in deck, just the coins from metal detector.
Do my eyes deceive me? Another goddamn Mage Legendary in a mini-set? How does this keep happening!?
Skyla is... literally the only Legendary Mage has gotten from a miniset in this entire standard rotation. The last time Mage got a legendary from a miniset was in Sunken City.
Maestra > Change Face > Agency Espionage > Tess shadowstep never run out of freaking cards
Actually maybe thats why all these new rogue cards are kinda expensive, because if you change face and replay everything with tess, actually kinda b-b-b-b-broke
Burndown on elemental mage for refuel looks ncie
Not going to lie - it's annoying that all classes don't get a second Tourist.
I unverstand it, but i'm kind of sad you often don't mention wild synergy.
Burndown could potentially be decent in elemental mage but then again that deck already runs shale spider and unchained gladiator so its not exactly wanting for card draw
Great Both scam classes are together now.
7 mana to fill up your board with 5/5 naga elemental
Espionage will fuel up my embrace darkness rogue heheh
Forgetting greedy partner 4:42
If Im hit with Tsunami on turn 5/6 Im just quitting.
That's the creepiest face I've ever seen on a hs card. Portalmancer is so tilting.
sharp shipment khadgar
They print rogue cards like they have druid mana avaliable
Prep Tax moment.
Sea Shill Sif vs Tempo Rayla Sif
I think you le expected to run purely big spells and generate the small spells with weapon.
Agency Espionage is more than a 1 star card.
broken apprentice track, hearthstone really not welcome new player
I swear to God, everything in Perils is either card draw, mana cheat, or absurdly weird effects that do basically nothing. Not a huge fan of this expansion and mini-set so far, design-wise or thematically.
Huddle Up is, quite literally, the WORST card in hearthstone history. Even bad Aviana had some kind of upside
There are many, MANY hearthstone cards that are far worse than a bad board refill, especially one that is going to be cheated in to play 9 times out of 10. There have been worse cards released this set (power spike and Sensory deprivation, for example), much less of all time.
Bruh agency espionage is literally worse than this it’s a 4 mana do nothing and make your deck worse that’s insane at least for 7mana it’s a board refill. Even 2/2s that’s 14/14 stats.
@xandero8444 the difference from those cards and this card is the viability and capability to utilize the card. That's my core case for this being the literal worst card. Yes, many cards have glaring issues, but they can at least be utilized easier and/or for a greater purpose than this.
The only range this card has is some horrifically janky wild combo that would only be passable at best.
@jfoley3484 7 mana to refill a board where 95% of standard games are decided by turn 5 is atrocious. Not to mention, mage (and the associated classes) have very limited stall and setup options to get this card out without immediately losing you the game. With the rogue card, there are ways to get those cards back and utilize the value for a variety of useful effects. It's still trash, don't get me wrong, but it has a far higher floor and much higher ceiling on average.
Why's the art on that legendary so ugly?
These cards are all terrible. It what reality would you feel good making a board go junk for 7 mana? Skyla or whatever is some of the fastest dust I’ve ever seen. I don’t think I have to explain why the mechs bad. I think hearthstones reached the end of its life and hope it figures out how to go out on top.
