I made damn sure I downloaded this from iTunes first chance I could. Her soft haunting voice, kept me company on dark lonley nights while I was in the Air Force.
I think it takes a lot of courage to sing in such a simple & gentle way. By simple I mean, not hiding behind lots of vocal ornaments & stylistic goo-gaws. & Not to get sucked into the idea that you have to "belt it out" in order to be heard. There is so much power in that. & why she is so incredible.
Incredible. I remember seeing a little flyer that she would be in Tower Records in Atlanta, so I stopped by for that and she seemed so fragile and delicate, like her voice.
I saw Lori perform in London, a small club called The Borderline, many years ago now. A highlight of my musical life and an evening that I still remember well. If only she would perform in London, again. Thanks for sharing. peteraliasclaudio
I know (or knew) The Borderline well. Sadly it's not there any more. Walked passed where it once was quite recently. Would have loved to have seen Lori play there.
i saw her in 1997 at Cafe du Nord in San Francisco and it was like an hour and a half of her just like this -- took everything i had not to propose to her after the show.
I'm in Love with her music. She is my contemporary and I have always enjoyed the haunting and melodic quality of her music. Hope to meet her some day just to say hello and thank you for all the enjoyment of her music.
OK well. It seems that Lori hasn't received a review for a while. I really don't have much time today, I'm in the middle of my birthday, but I didn't want to let it go by saying that she is a wonderful singer and performer. Later, I will tell how I got to her. Each artist has their personal brand, their stamp, but if I had to compare her with someone, I would do it with Neil Young. Greetings to all who like your songs. Paul from Argentina.
So here's the deal (and what's with dreams anyway?), I dreamed of a girl playing an acoustic cover version of Steely Dan's "Daddy Don't Live IN New York City" but it was better, as the girl only sang the Dan part as a chorus; but, the rest of it was more of a psychedelic folk and the lyrics more developed and folded than the chorus; yet the chorus blended in beautifully. The next day I went looking for the Dan and this popped up on UA-cam at the same time. Lori Carson was the girl! Ahh! I knew this song, but it's been a few years; this was the rest of the cover song, just different and more involved lyrics.
I lost this CD in the 90's and so glad to find this. Thanks for sharing
Amazing singer/songwriter

Everything she touches run wild...
I so love her voice.

I literally couldn't agree more. 7 years after your comment, here I am. This song stands the test of time.

She was my comfort at night, a lonely airman laying in bed with bourbon in hand, just watching the shadows dance for me.
Pure and This Is How It Feels are some of the best works of the 90's. These were magic with all involved. I always liked Lori more than Syd or Amanda.
Love it. She's one of my favorite female singers ever.
First time hearing it in a scene from 1997 movie Keys to Tulsa. Fell in love with it right away

Great song! Whatever happened to Lori Carson anyway? Does she perform or record anymore?
Lori is dumping her soul for all to see, it's nothing most of us could contemplate
You can't fuck with Lori Carson.
