Now I’m young, I’m just a teenager, but I remember when I was younger and my grandfather showed me the munsters and I thought it was great! I stayed up late watching it and I thought every second of it was hilarious! I just thought about it earlier today and I’m 100% binging this UA-cam channel. I miss my grandfather a lot and this brings back really great memories, thank you!!!!
Same boat except I’m 27 now. My grandpa showed me the Munsters when I was just a kid and I’ve loved it ever since. I miss him a lot and watching this show reminds me of good times. Not to mention that it holds up and I find it even funnier as an adult.
When you've not watched The Munsters since the late 80s/early 90s, you get blown away with memories of how good they all were in this. Herman and Grandpa especially.
The shows where the two of them go wildly astray are so hilarious they'll take your breath away, and that doesn't happen that easily for me, especially for a sitcom. Great comedy team. Eddie is the child on paper, but Herman and Grandpa are really the children in the family.
Just such talent on the production back then. From the special guest stars to the theme song. Just a special show that was on another level that has stood test of time
My dad loved the Munsters, especially Herman Munster. When I was in college, i would always try and be back in my dorm room to watch reruns at 3pm. If you were outside around that time, you could hear other people's tvs on the same channels, so many students trying to get their "Munsters" fix for the day. That was back in the early 80s before the internet and cellphones. 😊
@@michaelglass4701 The second season is the most popular, that is where Butch Patrick, plays Eddie Munster, Ivonne de Carlo replaces the star that played Herman Munster*s wife and I am not sure if Beverly Owen, enters the series as Herman*s Niece
When I was a kid, this show gave me a lot of laughs, and I needed some. Now I know Fred Gwynne was a comedy genius. They never should've cancelled this show. Two more seasons at least. Gwynne's reactions are a master class in comedy. I know it seems an over the top statement but this wasn't his first show anyway. He really know what he was doing. The joy this man created - what a legacy.
I'm 66& I remember when The Munsters were on CBS Yvonne De Carlo was beautiful as Lily, I have a beautiful model of The.Munsters Koach, and a beautiful book about the Munsters that Yvonne De Carlo and Butch Patrick did.
This is a beloved, classic show. Glad I watched it new. Should have been on at least 5 years. Moose guest starred on a lot of sitcoms then, including Petticoat Junction and Beverly Hillbillies. I think he was even on an episode of The Waltons. Several sitcoms through the years have had those mix-up scenarios, as this ep.
im 32 and the munsters aren't on tv much here in ireland but being of the spooky persuasion myself, i always knew of the series. i recently got the boxset and got to watch both series and i knew i was going to love it. the munsters spans generations without fail and is 1 of those series that will always have an audience.
Moose’s fathers voice (Pat Buttram) I recognise, from So many Disney films The sherif of Nottingham in Robin Hood,The Aristocats and the Rescuers to name a few.
I grew up in the 1960's, watching all the half hour shows. The Munsters included. I'm a senior citizen now, & viewing The Munsters on UA-cam bring me joy, laughter in a very different world in 2022. The show writers, production folks, the thespians, everyone involved with this show gave us a half hour of escape from the miseries of reality.
It took me some getting used to in seeing him in " Pet Cemetery ", but he did manage to wash off that type cast of herman , because he was a fine actor . He was able to emers himself in what ever role he chose. That's what good actors do !!!
The reason the Munsters was a much better show than the Addams family is they dealt with every day things. They just looked VERY weird. Ha. The Munsters behaved like a regular family: Herman worked a job, Eddie and Marilyn went to school, Lily was a homemaker and Grandpa was part of the extended family.
Janice Grimm hmm don’t remember them bein mean spirited. However, the Munsters i think were more likable than the Addams family. The Addams may have had bigger success in film adaptions etc, but the Munsters is what i always preferred. Herman and Grandpa’s antics were classics.
@@taoist32 The tv show was darker humor than the Munsters. If you liked it that is ok we can agree to disagree. Yes the movies with the Adams Family were different from what I remember but I don't remember if they were mean spirited or not. Like I said we can agree to disagree. Best wishes.
Herman: We haven't had anyone kicked out of school since Grandpa got kicked out of Vasser for hanging in the rafters. Grandpa: I was only trying to get out of the rain. Herman: For 2 weeks?!

I haven't seen anyone else here mention it but I really love how much they love Marilyn. Yes they mention her "deformity" sometimes but it's obvious they care a lot about her (Eddie even got a bit jealous once of how much they coddle her). They're willing to go to lengths to help her!

I was born in 1961 so I was watching the show before reruns. My mother told me that I used to cry when they watched the show. Didn't stop me from watching it though. I seem to remember that but you never know...
Herman Munster was such a hilarious gigantic goofball. I wish there were more people in the world like him. I would have had a ball visiting a cooky household like the Munsters. Herman makes everyone feel welcome.
So i’ve recently been watching the Beverly Hillbillies. The actor playing “Moose” was on an episode of the Hillbillies, kinda being the same sorta character. Maybe not *QUITE* as dumb as Moose. Anyhoo he did a great job!

I remember staying up at like 2am when I was 7 watching this and I'm only 17 time Flys
I was born in 97 and the Munsters and Gilligan's Island were my favorite shows to stay up and watch as a kid 💖 so comforting to rewatch
I was born in 71 and love the same shows!
I was born in 1966. And I love both shows and leave it to beaver
I LOVED THIS SHOW SO MUCH. IT DESERVED MORE THAN 2 SEASONS.
I STILL LOVE THIS SHOW
Ofcourse, Batman was was main "POW!" To the ratings causing culprit.
Why did this show only get two seasons though they could have gotten more.
Deserves 10 seasons
Ironically Batman in color doused Our Munsters!
