Optimizing Genoa Sail Trim and Car Position

  • In this video we show how to trim a Genoa and set the car lead position.
    Genoa trim is particularly important on Genoa-driven masthead boats, but the same principles also apply to trimming jib sails on fractional mainsail-driven boats.

    Good explanation. I hope you can expand on the different reaching angles in light and heavy wind and show the effect in perhaps a next video? But the basics seem to be: tighter angle to the wind, car goes aft (less twist). Wider angle (beam or broad reach), car goes forward (more twist).
