Had they gone EV, they would have swept the field. Anyone who buys an ICE vehicle now will bitterly rue it in just 5 years. Electric vehicles are more expensive than ICE because the manufacturers CHOOSE to make them pricier. You can absolutely build a budget EV vehicle with genuinely basic features that will be less than $10,000.
Want proof? Look at vehicles being produced in China and India. They can make $4000 - $5000 vehicles…
