Trust me, I love TDP. One of my favorite metalcore albums of all time. Heroine is also great, this new track is also great. Yeah, it’s different and it may not be what you want, but it’s not about what you want. This is what they want to make and I promise you if they bent the knee and gave you what you wanted, you still wouldn’t be happy with it because it wouldn’t be genuine.

True. But look what Make Them Suffer and Polaris are doing. They're doing metal with different ways and still make it awesome. Just saying. Plus if they keep disregard the audience from what they want to hear, they will end up losing their audience. Remember when Megadeth made Risk album? Everyone hated it and They went back to metal once again.

See, if I wanted to listen to Arctic Monkey, I would not look for a new track from Thornhill. Alas, Arctic Monkey on wish is what we got with this one. They had a good debut but seems like they were not meant for more.

One thing I’ve come to love about the new Thornhill sound is they are not afraid to do what they love. They aren’t worried about the conventional metalcore route to appeal to the masses. And that’s what sets them apart from the rest. Such a talented group of guys! I absolutely love this song and I can’t wait for a new album!

better? Been listening to this kind of stuff all my life and this new music after thr dark pool is only for girls. Cant understand how can they create something really unique and then go to something really ugly to listen, instrumentals and voice, really I feel its directed to drunk girls

@shhsjfkf2832 tbh I think pridelands album 'light bends' was better than 'the dark pool'... I wasn't huge on heroine but I loved butterfly. I like this direction because it separates them from their peers and it's very well produced.

Discovered them with the Butterfly EP, loved it. Then The Dark Pool came and it was even more amazing, only bangers. And they tried something else with Heroine already.. that actually worked. I don't understand why TDP "fans" (real fans don't sh*t on the bands btw) are such haters, but you could see already the turn Thornhill wanted to take, and they did it really well. Yeah it's not djenty anymore, and so what? Bands change, evolve, try things, innovate.. if you want some djenty/core stuff, there are plenty of others bands that do/still do it.
PS: Because it's not your style doesn't mean it's bad, stop acting like 9yo kids, especially when you're probably some grown a*s men. Respect the band and its new perspective about their music, and respect the people who likes their music as well.

I don't know what happened for the band to go for this more rock, more nostalgic vibe, more similar to Queens Of The Stone Age and others similar. But I hope the next album can be more metal than Synth Rock.
The construction of the songs on these album (Heroine) is good, but because they are light, it doesn't sound like Thornhill.
For me it's as if between one album and the next Pantera or Sepultura changed their sound from Metal to Rock or Pop.
This song sounds like another track from the album Heroine.
