I grew up in a household where my father was quick witted and poked. I learned to poke back faster. The kind of arguments you think about later are what I fire off in their face.

I'd have asked for Kelly to confess- in text- about every single malicious jab she had made to OP, starting from the day they met up until the incident.
Then, I'd have screenshotted the texts and shared them to everyone I could contact who was a part of the incident, and nobody else, via group chat, making sure that Kelly was there as well so that she could get a taste of her own medicine. I'd then cap it off with this message:
"You had no right to tell anyone anything about that day, regardless of whether or not you were misinformed. Your actions that day were nothing short of defamation and character assassination, and I want nothing to do with you, or anyone who is willing to defend your horrible actions after this. Let this be the end of the drama, and move on with your lives. Thank you."
Finally, I'd have blocked Kelly, as well as everyone else who decides to stay on her side.
Of course, this is if I were in OP's shoes, not as part of the wedding party. Idk if the wording made that clear or not.
