    You're doing way better than me now dedicated 10 years to this no luck on ever getting the oil clarified two recent boil overs the first ever to happen scared me pretty good twice I guess I'm going to finally scrap the project thought about going to plastic but don't want to start all over I would have paid someone very very good money just to bleach one sample

    Wow! Just amazing to see you've built a larger unit and also the quality of the output is just phenomenal. Congratulations. One quick question, Can activated carbon be used as a catalyst since in Kenya its hard to get hold of zeolite or is there another way around it? Thanks.

    How to refind waste engine oil into base oil reclaimed

  • @bv3078
    @bv3078 Рік тому

    I believe that just distilling motor oil won't make diesel for this will be producing too much soot due to the high amount of large hydrocarbons. You should add a catalytic cracker to break these large atoms into smaller hydrocarbons. Though this would be really $$$.

    • @nanoxynergies7984
      @nanoxynergies7984  Рік тому +1

      Thats true, simple distillation wont do. But with good chemical engineering, like in my case, you can effect thermal scissoring of the long chain hydrocarbons to match those of premium diesel.

      @@nanoxynergies7984you're doing a wonderful job that's why I immediately had to subscribe. I did a setup similar to yours with the intention of using plastics. However, since my plastics crusher isn't ready yet, I have been thinking of using waste oil temporarily. Kindly explain this "good chemical engineering" which doesn't need catalyst, if you don't mind. Blessings from Cameroon

    • @nanoxynergies7984
      @nanoxynergies7984  11 місяців тому +1

      The production rate is a function of the amount of heated oil inside the reactor. Since I do not have automation and level sensing it fluctuates. But on peak its 50 litres per hour.
      Given it takes an hour for production to start, to get 500 litres you need around 12 hours of production time.

      @nanoxynergies7984  Рік тому +1

      @@antoniosestar3671 my point exactly, 700 °C is way too much. If you can maintain the reactor temperature at about 450°C to 500°C then 400°C at the top of reflux you will get good diesel quality at around 80 percent conversion. At 700°C your liquid condensate yeild is low. The naphtha is hard to condense. It will just come out as white smoke. Also expect lots of petroleum coking around the tube on the inside.
