      An old plunger type pump equipped diesel engine, will eat anything fatty, will run on pig fat too, possibly can bite a piece of bacon without hiccups, but the modern common rail, will die if a small speck of dust accidentally got past the fuel filter. So this is what the centrifuging is for.

    Hey can you PLEASE!!! make a video or share how you're doing this!? I've been trying to find information on how to do this. I have a huge supply of motor oil and it really sucks burning it as waste oil. I know they do this in Africa but what they do is very crude. I know a little bit about how pyrolysis works but until I have a good understanding I don't want to sink a bunch of money into a setup to learn by trial and error. This is a great way to use oil a second time instead of it going to landfills. Hey sorry I did not realize you where selling these things! I'll have to buy some plans from you! This is great. Aside from what I wrote above I have one more question. I don't see any nitrogen tanks in your videos or other inert gasses. How are you keeping the fuel from auto igniting during pyrolysis? If you bring the temperature up slowly will the oxygen be pushed out by the fumes, and that's why it doesn't explode?

      Hi, the content should not explode if there is no oxygen supply as long as the reactor zone is hermetic, there is no oxidizer in the reactor zone, and a steady temperature increase creates fumes that push all the oxygen out of the system before it hot enough for autoignition.

    Can i mix direct black oil with ethoxide?

    • @santeryi9
      @santeryi9  3 місяці тому

      Physically you can mix it, but it will not work, as oil loaded with additives and anticoagulants that will prevent it from cleaning, you can try some petrol engine zinc rich motor oil, may work, but in most cases we are dealing with some sort of random oil mixes where all types of oil are mixed together, and even if you will clean such an oil, it would not be suitable for engine application, due to unknown nature of additives and types of oil in the mixture. So distillation and base oil recovery, then mixing with proper additives accordingly to specified standards.Each product has a standard document that lists amounts and names of the additives in oil composition.

    How would the cetane number compare with pump diesel? In the US when they switched to ultra low sulfur diesel the cetane rating was dropped to minimum of 40. Some fuel stations have higher, but they all carry the same generic minimum 40 sticker. My diesel truck hates low cetane diesel and I have to supplement with a cetane booster so it doesn't grumble and ping when I get an objectionable tank of diesel. Many fuel stations get diesel from multiple sources so the quality varies depending on who delivered the fuel. With ULSF I add a lubricant to protect my Bosch CP4 fuel pump at every fuel up. I would assume this blend probably has better lubricity.

    • @santeryi9
      @santeryi9  Рік тому

      The modern diesel fuel is really dry, and literally fatal for older type plunger fuel system, also can be bad for rotating and moving parts of modern engines, especially injectors, sound like it was done deliberately with all those euro standards to drive the electronically controlled injector market. Some people add two stroke oil to this fuel to increase its lubricant property. One way or another the homemade diesel fuel obtained from used oil is literally a base oil of glorified diesel fraction with low freezing point, viscous enough to lubricate the system, properly prepared and mixed with diesel fuel conditioner will have over 45 cetane and be neutral enough to not react with metal parts of the fuel and engine parts, also greasy enough to cover the parts with protective layer and protect it from moisture and corrosion.
      It is known that many modern diesel engines are wares down before reaching 100000km, and there sub standard materials plus dry fuel.
      While there are many examples of old diesel engines outlive the vehicle with over a million km on the clock with old type diesel fuel.I still drive an old 1995 Mazda MPV turbo diesel, with 446000km run mostly on recovered or homemade diesel fuel for the last 12 years with no issues.

      @@santeryi9 I used to add a 0.1-0.2% of pure 2-Ethylexyl nitrate as cetane improver and it works fine. The engine (a 2004 common rail bosch electronic direct injection with no DPF and no DEF, EGR was present in origin but now is closed) run smoother than gas station regular diesel. It takes rpm faster when full throttled and doesn't make any smoke. I think that if properly treated to remove tar the homemade diesel is OK also for more modern cars equipped with DPF maybe mixed 50/50 with regular diesel.

    The only problem with this is that it takes as much fuel to distill motor oil than what you will recover. It is only efficient at really large scale.

      Certainly, in my situation, the cost of electricity is $0.18 per kilowatt hour and the cost of diesel is $2.00 per liter. The machine can produce 24 liters of output per hour and will consume about 6 kilowatts, which amounts to $1.08 per hour. Additionally, we need an extra kilowatt for the rest of the processing. We also require reagents that cost $2. Therefore, the total cost of producing 24 liters of fuel is around $3.2. In comparison, purchasing the same amount from a gas station would cost around $48.00.
      However, it's important to note that producing fuel requires time and effort. Nevertheless, in situations where fuel is unavailable even at a high price, producing fuel in-house is still a viable option.

    Why are you mixing alcohol and hydroxide with waste motor oil? That is not needed.

    • @santeryi9
      @santeryi9  22 дні тому

      I mixing alcohol with hydroxide first to make ethoxide or methoxide to settle any paraphin or tar from the resulting fraction, otherwise one may risk to clog the fuel system of a car or track. Same as with vege oil into biodiesel processing, the engine can run on straight oil too, but glicerol is removed to make fuel more acceptable for a diesel engine.

  • @rightwingactivist
    @rightwingactivist 13 днів тому

    How much power does the system use? Might be cheaper to buy the diesel? 😂

    • @santeryi9
      @santeryi9  10 днів тому

      The used oil is free, the oil distiller uses 6kw to make 20L of diesel fraction - $0.18 per kw/h, $1.08 for 20L of diesel fraction, the centrifuge uses 250w per hour which is enough to process 20L of diesel fraction, thus energywise all process will not exceed $2.00 plus chemicals about $2.00 so 20L in this case is about $4.00 while at local gas station one liter of diesel is $1.82 and 20L of diesel fuel is $36.40 so is it cheaper to buy it? Maybe faster but not cheaper.

    Здравствуйте у нас потепление будем ходить скоро в рубашках, как и вы всегда. Бензин у нас дешёвый 48 руб за литр. Большого смысла об экономии нет, катайтся сколько хочешь))) если надо дешёвое такси всегда будет. То что вы по-английски сказали почти понятно, но язык учить надо. Здоровья вам и вашим близким и лучше не увлекаться политикой они сами разберутся так как им выгодно)))

      Насчёт всегда в рубашках - не забуждайтесь, Новая Зеландия это страна на краинем юге, наш город от южного полюса на том же расстоянии что и Владивосток от северного полюса, на берегу еще нормально но 50 -70км вглyбь острова и вот вам снег и морозы, а если еще на юг то и совсем кирдык, у меня есть видео о крайнем юге, так что у нас осень и снега не за горами.
      У нас дизельное топливо в пересчёте на америку $2 за литр, плюс дорожный налог на дизельные машины примерно $50 америки на каждые 1000км, но наличие такого налога означает что верхи не интересует на чём я буду ездить на соляре с заправки или пописаю в бак, поэтому - самодельное топливо стоит мне примерно $6 за 25 литров.
      Насчёт политики полностью согласен, от нас ничего не зависит, и пусть они там сами, ну а мы всегда приспособимся.

      I own three diesel SUVs and one diesel camper, waste oil is free while oneL of diesel at the gas station is $1.78 while $4 to $5 ia enough for 20L of homemade diesel, time too, though I usually make my fuel at the same time as working in my workshop ove other projects, so technically it is a byproduct of my activity, thus economicallt viable.
