Considering that at that same time Eighting was also working on a separate Naruto game, a Bleach game, 3 separate Kamen Rider games, the American version of Tatsunoko VS Capcom and were early in development on MVC 3, saying they were spread a little thin is quite the understatement.
Still remember my brother and I being excited for this game not knowing anything cause we were so young. - Played the game, hated the controls. - Thought we could at least have fun in multiplayer, realize Naruto anf Sasuke are the ONLY playable characters on top of the bad controls - Brother beat the entire game with no joy in his heart then returned it to gamestop while I was at school - Wasn't even mad, game was just so bad
I played this game when I was younger back on Wii, and I regretted it immensely. It was just really unfun and frustrating to play, and was basically a very incompetent action game with some of the worst boss fights I’ve ever seen. It at least had a pretty fun multiplayer mode, but besides that, I wouldn’t recommend it to even diehard Naruto fans and sold it to GameStop for like $10 shortly after beating it.
It falls under that gary stu mary sue universe rule breaker, where it makes a BS excuse for the clothes by fucking with an in-universe element. "Oh your chakra doesnt work because we say so, so now gameplay sucks and you're forced to become square-enix characters." Bad writing, Kishi won''t approve.
They took the assets from Uzumaki chronicles 2 and polished it up visually for the Wii and stripped the game down to its bare bones and then some more.
Definitely a terrible experience on Wii. But on Dolphin in HD with no slowdowns, it's much more tolerable. The characters were quite interesting and the story was pretty decent. But regrettably optimising for the release hardware is still a fatal mistake that was made with this game. 😢
Funny enough, this was my first experience with anything Naruto related, i bought it used for some weird reason as a kid, and i didnt understand anything
It’s a shame because the graphics of the main characters are actually pretty good. Not sure why they felt the need to diverge from the canon world. With good writing, they could’ve made a compelling side story. And then in terms of the combat, it seems like a simple soft lock mechanic would’ve done the trick. Then in terms of jutsu, there’s no reason they couldn’t give the characters more jutsu that they could actually use canonically. I guess hindsight’s 20/20, but with the resources they had, it wouldn’t have been hard to turn this into something decent.
Not the best game but the worst? Nah, this isn't Ninja Council 3. I like the ideas presented in this game, it was held back by the Wii sadly. I just hope we can see the concepts in this game be used in a new Naruto game in the future.
The fact that the versus mode is so barebones is surprising because considering this is an anime game, you would think they would have put more effort on the mode that lets you pit your favorite characters against others but nah lol
@@iamnotweak9259 no it wasn't. It was cool to say it was fun to play but I guarantee the majority of you didn't play for more than ten hours tops. And that is if you bought all the gazillion ripoff dlc, costumes and jutsu. But I guess some people like taking it without lube and getting ripped off
@@ubm91Wdym "most of you"? I got 111k hours in this bitch, with most dirt cheap dlc missing and 0 donate scrolls bought. Yeah I haven't played in a WHILE but I had a lot of fun with it. And to insult people who actually liked it and to rate lazy, unbalanced, ugly, stinky full price semi dlc disgrace (for mediocre fighting game to begin with, if we take online pvp ofc. Other than that local pvp and story mode are PHENOMENAL) over original game , that was able to climb up from trash pit after rough start is absurd. P. S: discuss getting ripped raw, without lube etc with your step dad, as usual.
I got this game for free when I got a replacement Wii, so maybe I'm biased because I never paid for it, but I thought it was an OK game. I've definitely played worse anime licensed games.
duuuuuude I remember seeing this in shonen jump, waiting for the release date then begging my dad to buy a copy off of ebay when it came out. Got the game a month later and stopped playing it after one session because I got a japanese copy and couldn't progress past the first 10 minutes. 9 year old me didnt think about the game being in another language lol
Naruto Shippuden: Dragon Blade Chronicles was released on November 26, 2009 in Japan, which will soon celebrate its 15th Anniversary on November 26, 2024 that the game went wrong, it was a failure.
I find it ironic how this game seems to have been panned even though so many people back then basically begged publishers to bring it over to the English speaking market LOL! I played it once and thought it was okay but I was chasing the Uzumaki Chronicles 2 hype.
Hmm. I finished the video and I think you were a bit harsh. It almost feels like you read a bunch of negative reviews and then played the game through a negative lense and then echo the negativity. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion. But for anyone who hasn't played the game yet, there are definitely some fun things. The exploration was pretty cool. There was once plans to include a way to revisit old areas. This was unfortunately scrapped. Because if they had this feature, this would be among one of the largest explorable maps in Naruto games, second to basically Ultimate Ninja 4 and 5 on PS2. The boss battles were definitely unique. Idk why you thought they were the same. The music was absolutely badass. This is also a Wii game. The effort put into the environments is higher than any of the mainstream Clash of Ninja games. I'm building a fan Naruto game and have thoroughly gone through the assets for this game. It's pretty outstanding just how much effort went into it! I just hate that they couldn't get it to run more smoothly and how they locked too many areas behind mandatory enemy rushes. I definitely think it's not a great Naruto game, but there's definitely some soul in there. I think fans of Naruto can find something to appreciate playing. The story was NOT dull. The cutscenes were lifeless for sure. But if you told this story with Storm cutscenes, it would definitely contend with a canon storyline. The chakra being disrupted by the mountain fits perfectly with Naruto lore as something similar happens with sage of six paths chakra. In sage mode training Naruto uses a special oil that helps him use nature energy. The armor is serving the same purpose in this game. There are definitely positives in here, but regrettably the negatives are very loud and forefront, so people tend to ignore the actual good elements. I hope I can make a version of this that's much better.
I bought this as a "PC" games at high school. this game is terrible no doubt, but I discover a new emulator name dolphin thanks to this game lol. it was amazing for me that I can play gamecube and wii games on my pc back then and found a gem like xenoblade, last story, etc.
I actually hadnt heard of this game, it was basically withheld from me by shonen. Saw it in a store and thought of buying it because it seemed unique, looked af fhe back and wasnt impressed
It’s a shame this game turned out the out it did because I loved the idea of Dragons existing in Naruto and the idea of Naruto as well as other characters getting to use different chakra natures that they normally wouldn’t be able to thanks to the new outfits they get as well as the the idea of the Dragon blade. Not to mention this game had my favorite outfit that Sauske ever had. (Makes me wonder what sort of outfit a character like Madara would get if this game happened years later)
Considering that at that same time Eighting was also working on a separate Naruto game, a Bleach game, 3 separate Kamen Rider games, the American version of Tatsunoko VS Capcom and were early in development on MVC 3, saying they were spread a little thin is quite the understatement.
I saw this game and I decided to buy it. I now have regret and wish I dropped my money instead.
back in 2010-12 ish, it was good game, have good memories with it but yeah, with today's standards it didnt age that well
@@Forgen0 no it wasnt, lol it was always crap, i got so mad when i rented this out as a kid.

This game always felt like they were creating an original property but were forced to tack naruto on because they weren't confident in it.
BRO THINK THEY DMC 2💀💀💀
Ohhh I loved DMC 2. That one & DMC 3 are my favorite ones in the series

Naruto's stance in the cutscenes are the best part of the game
5:15 Kakashi T-pose
I love how in 1 review the only positive about the game was fact that the story was original not a huge hurdle to be honest.

A modern sequel with god of war type gameplay would be sick

the worst is uzumaki chronicles and the one with the ninja puppet bosses, dont know the name anymore

This games writing isn’t even comparable to Naruto filler. Especially because some Naruto filler episodes/arcs are actually kinda gas!

Yeah this game is hot garbage but the original animated opening is cool. This would’ve made an interesting filler arc.
Honestly just sounds like a downgraded one piece unlimited adventure
With the release of Storm Connections, This game has shot up to the second worst Naruto game ever
I used to love this game lmao
This game is quite alright, for what it is... It's pretty short also. I had fun with it
Wish they made clash of ninja revolution 4 over this pile of trash.
