I miss the days of the syndicated action shows. Yes it sucked you didnt know when they would come on every week but the randomness of it was kind of unique. At least they were "free" and nowadays we get Amazon and Netflix shows instead which aren't free of course. The younger generation who grew up on Amazon, Netflix, and Hulu shows, will never know about syndicated television. Sad. Yeah I know Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune are still around and syndicated but thats not what Im talking about. Plus their audience is really old lol. Also, does anyone remember the Conan series ? Im guessing it got made because of Hercules and Xena's success but it didnt last long.
Yes. I remember it. They also did Sinbad. This show spawned several knock offs that didn't last. However, it had two proper spin offs that I liked: Xena and Young Hercules.
I am glad you brought up Beanstalks and Bad Eggs (especially considering the late Glenn Shadix is in that episode playing the brother of a character he played in the second season).
i didnt mind some of the more comedy, strange, odd episodes. Sometimes you have to do something different and it will either hit or miss..its all good though.
Hercules was a lot of fun, Kevin was pretty good. Though I'm a bigger fan of Xena. But when I think of live action Hercs, only Lou Ferrigno comes to mind. No matter how cheese his two Hercules films were. Greek mythology is wacky anyway, and Lou made it work best without big story arcs.
Xena had better stories & dialogue than Hercules because Lucy Lawless started dating the creator & Producer of the Show, he gave her the better stories. It had more depth to them. Also Hercules was catered more to children, Xena had killings & blood. Hercules still had better ratings than Xena, Hercules actually beat Baywatch in the ratings & became the most Watched TV show in America & the World.
Hey! I Have a lot Hercules DVD collectors sets still in my DVD library, and I still enjoy the content despite the dated 90's C.G.I. hoaky-ness. ": no centaurs rights were infringed upon during the making of this episode"
Herc and Xena were part of the so called "Adventure Sunday " that one of our tv stations had back in the day, and they are still my favorite series of all time. Yes, the monster animations and special effects are cringy as hell, but the show and characters have so much charm. I love it.
At least they didn't kill off Hercules like he died in mythology he died in Greek mythology or Roman mythology both are pretty much the same where he got married again his wife found out that he was not faithful and his wife gave him a poison cloak and ask Hercules after his skin is having throbbing pain he asks one of his companions to build him a funeral pyre and asks him to light it live and he becomes then a god even though he was already a demigod
Good review as always man. I just got the complete series. Im on the third episode of season 2. I’m looking forward to watching more. U should do a season review of this show. Like do a season 1 review, and so on. I know they be great. This is becoming my favorite version of hercules.

good job on the vid matt and i hope you got better i use to watch this show as a teenager i enjoyed it and i remember they cast bruce campbell in it with kevin sorbo alog with xena warrior princess an i admit it did have its flaws
18:04 Oh yeah I remember that episode Karen has fought Cynthia before in this hong kong action before called ''Above the Law'' 22:21 DAMN! That's horrible bro Solid job on the sharing your thoughts on a tv series I use to watch every now&then when it was aired back in the 90's dough I admit most of the time I watched Xena a little more that's bad that they end up killing her character off by the end of the series which I never knew about it with both shows I only remember catching the early seasons one day I wouldn't mind pick them both up sometime to re-visit them.
RamboRaph I was looking at the blu ray of Deep Rising on amazon and it looks like its gonna have some cool bonus features including audio commentary with the director, interviews with some of the cast. to bad it doesn't include treat Williams. And interviews with some of the make up people. I just wish it had deleted scenes and audio commentary with the key actors. But, its better than just having a basic dvd.
I just didn't like the stories that crossed over between Hercules and Xena. Like I watched Xena from start to finish and out of nowhere Calisto is immoral. Lol.

I used to watch this series when I was a little kid.

I miss 90s action shows like this. Tv is so boring now

I watched this show all the time as a kid. I haven't seen it since that time though
Watching this as a kid, I always thought Kevin Sorbo was huge. Now it's surprising how small he is.
hope you feel better soon ramboraph4life .
Excellent overview of the series. I have the complete series but I haven't watched it yet but I fully intend to. Great work.

Makes me sad that they cancelled the show IN THE MIDDLE of the final season. Like what the fuck they could have at least completed season 6.

What do you think of xena wp. I think thhats even better
I didn't watch much of Xena.
@@ramboraph4life plz pick up and review xena one day. Im a die hard fan but i hate the comedy episodes which are complete shit

Clip shows were not made to show people what happened before; they were done to save money.

Superman over Batman how dare you lol Joking
Never cared much for Batman's "No kill" rule. It is impractical and this is a man who is supposed to be a brilliant detective.
